14/08/2025: We came to eat at AB Osteria Contemporanea and it was an incredible experience. All the ingredients are seasonal, incredibly fresh, and carefully prepared. The best dish, which we'd give 10 stars if we could, is "maccheroncini al torchio con stufato di manzo" (macaroni and tomatoes with beef stew), delicious! The wine selection was all recommended by Enza, an absolute genius! The quality/price ratio was perfect for an experience I absolutely recommend! If you're looking for a restaurant where you can eat traditional products and have an impeccable gastronomic experience, well, you already know where to come. Compliments to chef Anna and the entire staff.

11/08/2025: A very nice place. Stylish and modern, hidden in a little village (Lavariano) south of Udine, close Mortegliano. Everybody's kind, everything's done for making you happy. We got a tasting menu of 5 plates with paired wines. One of the dish (risotto) was spectacular. Others in general pretty good. Wine pairing well done with one exception (it was mission impossible though ...) . The lady chef will soon deliver a baby girl . Best wishes to her and the coming daughter. All in all definitely recommended.

10/08/2025: Motorcycle ride, lunch with trout and sea bream with cherry tomatoes, olives, and white rice to accompany the fish. Perfect pairing. Plus side dish. Excellent value for money. I recommend it!

11/04/2025: The dinner was certainly good but a friend asked for a cut of meat and they didn't have it, my friend and I both wanted a fish dish and in the end we had to make heads or tails because they only had 1, I had some meatballs which weren't bad but to say salty was an understatement. Little choice of wine by the glass. All presented well but I don't think we will return.

02/03/2025: Before going to Italy, I was looking for a restaurant where I could eat something local. I can't stand touristy dishes. The restaurant was recommended to me at the Da Sisi hotel where I was staying. Tired after 1000 km, I wondered if I would be able to eat anything at all. The waitress greeted me at the entrance. I guess I didn't look like a fan of Italian cuisine because after presenting the set of dishes prepared for that evening, based on local tradition, she suggested that they could prepare something else. Of course I was happy to order a local set. The food was exceptionally tasty, the service was nice and patient - the waitress talked about each dish. The restaurant is worth recommending because I would really have to try very hard to find any fault. My culinary dream has come true. Thank you very much, I will definitely visit you next time.

10/08/2025: Ordered pizza because other pizzerias were closed and we were hungry. The pizza was very good.

09/08/2025: We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday evening in August. Despite it being busy, the staff made us a spot. The staff were very friendly, and the pizza was delicious. Highly recommended.

04/09/2025: The food was so much better than expected. Really good and fresh. The ambiance was rather poor.

01/09/2025: Nice pizzeria, a bit busy, but we got a table quickly and ordered quickly with friendly service. The spaghetti was very good, as were the side dishes. The desserts looked very good. We'd be happy to go back. Only the road here could somewhat dampen the cozy atmosphere when there's a lot of traffic.

28/08/2025: My husband and I had lunch today. A pleasant discovery, with a rustic, family atmosphere. The menu features seafood dishes: my husband had an excellent mixed fried fish, while I, unfortunately allergic to fish, had an off-menu dish kindly suggested by the chef: delicious crepes filled with ham, tomato, and mozzarella. The wine was also good. Fair prices.

22/08/2025: Two scoops plus cream for five euros. Prices are high, but in line with those in Lignano. When it comes to paying, the POS terminal magically doesn't work. I agree to pay with banknotes and hear the lady mutter, "The POS terminal makes the banks rich. If everyone did like you..." Great, next time I'll go to another ice cream shop, thanks.

22/08/2025: We stopped at this ice cream shop after a concert and ordered two gelatos: a yogurt gelato and a fig gelato. Only after ordering were we told the POS wasn't working (a sign would have been appropriate). There was an insect in the chocolate tub. The yogurt gelato was inedible, it tasted rancid, while the fig gelato was very cloying and mediocre. We couldn't finish them and had to throw them in the trash. €4 wasted.

15/08/2025: We stayed in Raffaele's apartment for two days and felt completely at home. The apartment is spacious and perfectly located for trips to Caorle, Bibione, or Eraclea Mare. It was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The breakfast was typically Italian and delicious. All in all, 5 stars! 🌟

12/08/2025: The food used to be good until years ago. Now it leaves a lot to be desired. Yesterday I had lunch there at the buffet. The dishes weren't clean at all, the dining room was shabby, from the chairs to the tablecloths. €15 buffet, including water and coffee, is acceptable. But they finally charged me €7 for 1/2 liter of house white wine on tap. It was exaggerated and disproportionate. It's a shame, I had fond memories of all the pizzas and risottos I'd eaten there. I've known this place for practically 28 years, and until 10 years ago, we'd go every weekend for dinner with friends. But I repeat, in recent years I've been there occasionally with family, and the quality of the lunches had drastically declined. Until yesterday's blow. I even struggle to digest the buffet cube. Really commercial quality.

12/07/2025: Siamo andate lì per una cena tra ragazze, il posto è bellissimo peccato per il servizio.. cucina buona ma alcuni abbinamenti non ci hanno convinto. Servizio non da un locale di questo livello, non ci hanno abbinato loro un vino al piatto ma ci ha chiesto semplicemente “rosso o bianco”, non sapevano di chi erano i piatti quando ce li portavano al tavolo, le posate le cambiano a ogni portata però se non l’hai usata (secondo loro) non te la cambiano. Poi c’è stato un problema con il secondo di pesce, che conteneva del maiale (non mangio carne) e non era stato segnalato nel menu, quando è stato detto alla cameriera mi ha risposto semplicemente che controllava, senza chiedere se volevo cambiare il piatto o altro. Ovviamente non è stato tolto dal conto. Cucina buona, dipende dai piatti che si prendono, certi favolosi e certi che non funzionano proprio.

20/07/2025: Maybe we were a little unlucky; we wanted gnocchi, homemade of course, and ended up with semi- or industrial-sized ones... other than that disappointment, the game sauce was good, and the palacinka was delicious!!! Very generous portions, reasonable bill, and friendly service. A special mention for the very quaint place, adorned with beautiful old-fashioned clocks.

13/07/2025: Found it through an internet search. Returning from a trip, I was looking for a restaurant where I could eat authentic food, and this restaurant inspired me and actually lived up to my expectations. I ate excellent and abundant tagliatelle with venison, truly well-made, richly seasoned, and flavorful. Congratulations. I plan to return to the area, so I've bookmarked it so I can be sure to find you again.
