20/07/2025: Total disappointment: we'll never return We returned to Pasticceria Zarotti in Pilastro when it recently reopened, driven by memories of a few years ago, when the quality of the pastries made us turn a blind eye to the poor organization. Unfortunately, we can confirm that absolutely nothing has changed; in fact, the situation has actually gotten worse. The service is still chaotic and completely disorganized. You have to wait in a long, endless line to pay and another, equally interminable, line to order pastries and drinks, which are then brought to your table but often incorrectly. Considering there are at least 4 or 5 people behind the counter, it's absurd that the service is so slow and confusing. The biggest disappointment came with the erbazzone: a tiny portion, perhaps 4x8 cm, cost a whopping 4 euros. A completely unjustified price for such a ridiculous quantity. At Frati, for 4 euros you get a "tile" four times the size and decidedly more satisfying. I ordered a cold latte and it arrived warm. The staff seemed rude, poorly trained, and there was a constant turnover, which never allowed for efficient service. We used to tolerate the poor organization because the croissants were really good. But today we also found the quality significantly lower and the quantity was minimal. If you're looking for a relaxing breakfast, especially on a Sunday morning, this is the least suitable place. It's a shame, but we won't be returning.

21/06/2025: Very well-kept place, with a welcoming outdoor garden where you can dine in peace even on the hottest evenings. The real star? The pizza: small, tall and very soft, with a light dough and quality ingredients. 🍕 The ones with cherry tomatoes, fiordilatte and pesto are delicious, but also the one with sausage and cooked ham is really well-stuffed and tasty. 🍟 Chips with lime mayonnaise 🔝 🍹 Well-made cocktails, ideal to accompany dinner or a relaxed aperitif. 🎶 There is often background music, but never intrusive: you can talk peacefully. ✅ Place suitable for couples, families and small groups: convivial atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent service. 🚗 Very convenient internal parking and barrier-free access.

24/03/2025: Mangiare al Cavallino Bianco è sempre una esperienza bellissima perché è come ritornare bambina e ricordare certi sapori che ormai è difficile trovare. Il culatello il prosciutto, lo strolghino , la spalla cotta, la loro giardiniera sono piatti superlativi, per non parlare dei tagliolini al burro di Vacche Rosse con il culatello , i secondi ricchi di gusto,I dolci ottimi insomma provare per credere! La gentilezza del proprietario è innata e quindi ti senti veramente a casa di amici. Non vedo l’ora di tornarci.

15/06/2025: After 3 years I have to change my review. The place has a huge potential, unfortunately not very well managed. The prices have increased significantly. Group dinner, 1 dish and a drink, €31 per person, even children. Crazy. Never again Beautiful place, suitable for families, immersed in the woods of Carrega. Games for children. Excellent food, average prices.

15/06/2025: All very nice on average, but nothing exciting for a lunch or dinner out of town is fine, but don't expect fireworks. Paccheri allo scoglio to forget, take only typical dishes.

12/08/2025: I was invited to lunch....nice little place, but well-kept, super friendly and helpful staff. Really good food, we even tried the raw ham. Reasonable price!!!

09/08/2025: I went to this place for lunch on a Saturday with a friend. We ate very well: the fritto misto and the delicious scialatielli allo scoglio (seafood scialatielli) were absolutely delicious. The place is intimate and welcoming. On a negative note: the waitress seemed unprofessional and unfriendly.

31/07/2025: Il cibo e ottimo, fresco. il servizio e eccellente e cosa dire di più c'è tutta l'atmosfera di un vero ristorante e pizzeria napoletana, ringrazio tutto lo staff per averci fatto sentire a casa.

17/07/2025: Very friendly welcome in this unpretentious restaurant, frequented by elderly people from the neighborhood. Very pleasant for a pizza and an aperitivo on the terrace.

28/06/2025: I came to this restaurant with my family. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the outside was nice, the food was not bad either but the only problems were the service and the timing. All the pizzas arrived separated from each other and we were unable to eat them all together due to the distance between them. Furthermore, one of those present (vegetarian) had asked, if possible, to prepare a calzone without sauce and mozzarella with grilled vegetables inside... apart from the dirty looks directed at us by the waitress, the calzone arrived and inside there was ham. I then went personally to report the mistake receiving dirty looks from the same waitress who had taken the order. The dish was then remade and then presented more than partially burned without having delivered an apology for the inconvenience. I think that, even if this had not happened, a smile towards us customers would not cost much given that hospitality and respect are very important not only in a restaurant, but also in life.

19/04/2025: I had high hopes for this place based on the photos, and to be fair, the views are stunning—probably the only highlight of the entire stay. Unfortunately, everything else was a letdown. The on-site restaurant? A complete disaster. The food was borderline inedible—bland, dry, and served without a single sauce or side. Even the bread served on the side was stale and made last month. For the prices they’re charging, you’d expect at least basic flavor or effort, but nope. You’re better off bringing snacks or making the trip into town. The pool was another disappointment—full of grass, leaves, and who knows what else. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The room was completely unprepared for cold weather. No proper insulation, heating, wasn’t to standard just a drafty box that left me shivering all night. It’s fine if you’re staying in the summer, maybe, but avoid it at all costs in colder seasons. To top it off, the nearby castle (which seems like a main draw) is absurdly overpriced, as is the restaurant. Nothing here matches the cost. Bottom line: great view, but everything else is mid at best. Would not recommend.

28/03/2025: Business lunch, three people, shared a plate of ham with schiacciatina and then a "light" dish each (in my case raw artichoke and parmesan salad), drank water. All good, very attentive and courteous service with the right timing, pleasant, well-kept, clean environment, but more than €100 for three people is definitely too much for a vegetable dish each.

16/03/2025: Minimal place, excellent pizza, but disappointing service. Unfortunately, the experience was compromised by the behavior of the waitress: while I was still eating, she proceeded to clear the table and asked exclusively my partner if he wanted to continue with something else, without waiting for me to finish my pizza too, completely ignoring me. After that, we never saw her again. We would have liked to continue with a dessert, a coffee or other options. A real shame, since the quality of the food deserves more attentive and respectful service.
