16/12/2025: My sister tried the cranberry risotto and I tried the mushroom risotto both were spectacular. the cranberry would go on our top 5 risottos in all of ITALY. we tried over 20 types in different places I would 100% recommend the cranberry very unique taste. We sat outside in and enjoyed some wine too.

07/01/2026: Mandrake is a plant that's extremely toxic to humans. This restaurant, however, contrary to its name, offers dishes of great flavor and exquisite craftsmanship. I began my dining experience here with the classic finocchiona, which I normally don't finish because I find it very fatty; but with the one offered by La Mandragola, I would have gladly had a second helping (and that says it all!) I then continued with a soup of "vegetables, farro, and beans," which was exquisite as well as delicate, so much so that I didn't feel any of the heaviness that often occurs with this type of dish. A place of informal elegance, warm, welcoming, immaculately clean, and with a wonderful garden where, in the warmer months, not only the materiality of "taste" but also the spirituality of "sight" are satisfied. Efficient and professional wait staff; more than decent wine list. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

15/12/2025: Passing through San Gimignano, I dined at La Mandragola; a beautifully curated and warm restaurant, with its colors and furnishings. There's a wide selection of food and drinks; I limited myself to two courses, but browsing the menu, I was tempted to try everything. The appetizer was excellent, and the tagliata steak was sublime. Andrea, the owner, is very attentive and thoughtful. The price was definitely reasonable considering the quantity and quality of the ingredients. What can I say? It's definitely worth a try!

07/01/2026: This restaurant has a more private and tranquil atmosphere than what you'd find in Piazza del Campo, and I also think the quality is better. What we ordered was delicious, and the food arrived quickly. Prices are reasonable despite being in a tourist area. Highly recommended; I would definitely return.

02/01/2026: Delicious huge pizza just for 7,5 EUR. The prices are very good for Tuscany area, maybe because the town is not that touristic. We definitely recommend. We payed 25 EUR for two pizza's, water and 2 glasses of wine. Very filling, fastly done and the waiterress was very friendly and nice.

25/01/2026: The best Pici ever... I learned about them through two local friends, and this is the second time I've tried the house specialty: Pici. The first time, in November, I tried the Pici with wild boar ragù; this time, partly because of the heat, I opted for the Pici all'Aglione. Simply sublime. Pasta al dente, well-seasoned and just the right amount of spice! Appetizer of various bruschetta and a mixed platter of cured meats and cheeses. House red wine and the usual water. Cantucci biscuits with Vin Santo and coffee. Reasonable price, in line with the quality offered. Rustic restaurant (but this time I was comfortable on the terrace next to the town hall). For me, it's become a regular stop when I'm in the Val d'Elsa. Highly recommended. Returned after many years: always excellent. This time I even got to taste a quality Fiorentina steak. Excellent.

04/01/2026: The food was very good. I recommend the Cinta Senese steak with radicchio, delicious. The service, while fast, seemed a bit tired and a bit sullen. The atmosphere is nice, but the decor is a bit cold.

04/01/2026: A typical trattoria in the center of Siena, good food, and a very authentic restaurant. The only flaw is that they close at 2:30 PM, meaning that if you get to the limit, the staff will try to make you feel welcome, but you can tell they can't wait for you to finish and leave to close up. Understandable, but I think if you want to run a restaurant in the center of a city like Siena, you can't even consider closing so early. But all in all, a great experience. Oh, I forgot, when you name dishes, especially traditional ones, you have to respect them. Spaghetti all'assassina: not even the spaghetti was worthy of a review.

05/01/2026: Highly recommended! The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. You can sense the excellent quality, tradition, and passion that goes into preparing each dish. The atmosphere is welcoming and very pleasant; we'll definitely be back from Bergamo! All the appetizers and first courses are highly recommended, especially the polenta gnocchi with pecorino fondue.

10/01/2026: We had lunch at this lovely, characteristic restaurant, run by very friendly and helpful staff. We had a mixed antipasto, pici cacio e pepe for the first course, and an exceptional tripe for the second course, washed down with a nice Chianti. I highly recommend it.

07/12/2025: A restaurant located in the historic center of San Gimignano, featuring a quaint setting and a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. We went for dinner as a couple and had a great time. The service was attentive, the food excellent, and the prices reasonable. If you're passing through San Gimignano, this is a highly recommended place.

17/11/2025: I have known the Capannina for a long time (2000) and can therefore provide my latest experience after years of not coming to dine in this restaurant. The dishes in general have lost in quality as well as in quantity given that we got up hungry. The bill was salty but the satisfaction in eating the dishes ordered was almost zero. I am willing to pay even €100 but the dish must be well cooked and the quantities must be proportionate. A fried food can be charged €15 but it must be substantial and not scarce like the one they brought me. The dessert was even smaller than normal, ridiculous portions at 5 euros each. In short, the customer is not stupid, do you want to charge €15-18 for the dishes? So first of all, make them well (the octopus was very salty and mushy) and don't reduce the quantity too much or it will become ridiculous. Furthermore, last but not least, for reasons of hygiene, waitresses should wear their hair tied up and not in the wind.

13/01/2026: We were wandering around a fairly deserted Bagno Vignoni on a wet afternoon looking for a dry spot to get a bite. We happened upon Il Loggiato, what a great find. They had limited menu options due to the time of day, but what they served was excellent. I would say that I enjoyed Il Loggiato's pizza as much, if not better than the ones I ate in Napoli. The crust was a little thicker, not doughy, and the flavours were excellent. Other plates received high praise from others in our group. The ambience was calming: The service was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

12/01/2026: Discovered this restaurant by chance as it's one of the few open this time of year. Rustic setting with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is exceptional and high quality. Highly recommended are the tartare and the tomino with truffle. The figs with lard are also delicious and unique. Excellent 👏

17/11/2025: My husband and I visited this delightful restaurant last Saturday, and the owner was incredibly kind and helpful in introducing us to her signature dishes. We ate Michelin-starred gorgonzola and pear parcels, artichoke and sausage-filled rosticciana, and lemon-fried chicken. Everything was delicious. The only flaw was that the fried chicken had all the bones, but it was delicious and fried very well. The price was more than fair. We'll definitely be back. We really appreciate the work of the lady who, with her restaurant, keeps a beautiful but almost deserted village alive.

20/12/2025: Finally, a restaurant serving typical Tuscan cuisine—good, and without too much fuss. The all-you-can-eat formula, applied to a traditional menu, is perfect, allowing for unlimited choices of appetizers, first courses, and second courses. Excellent service, friendly, and cheerful staff. The location is beautiful, an old mill with barrel vaults. We'll be back!

20/12/2025: The all-you-can-eat formula is truly a success; you can try every dish on the menu and decide whether to continue and gorge yourself on the food or sample everything, enjoying both the delicious starters and truly special main courses. The service is very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

31/12/2025: My favorite restaurant in Siena The most interesting first courses are squid ink rice and tagliolini with fresh tuna and bottarga. The second courses are a bit limited in quantity, but with excellent cuts of beef, rabbit, and lamb. The wines are very interesting, especially the reds and Nobile. The red brick interior features photos of celebrities who have frequented the restaurant. A must.
