09/08/2024: Siena is definitely not a destination for those who love restaurants. The Ghibelline confirms the low level. Service: from the table next to us, with two tourists eating a Florentine cooked on the grill (sacrilege), a bottle of wine fell, which, when it broke, dirtied the floor and our shoes in red. The bottle, now shattered, was simply put aside and remained on the floor for the entire dinner. The food: good brain even if it lacks refinement (it lacked salt and the batter was not very crunchy); the sirloin, always cooked on the griddle, without any maillard reaction, almost boiled, was cooked then cut and grilled again: it is enough to open a cookbook to understand that these processes, now dating back to the eighties, do not respect the meat, making it dry. I understand that cookbooks are expensive, but they are easy to read - open them! I am adding an edit to the answer, because everyone is good at countering without expecting a response: the griddle exists grilled and otherwise. To respect it, the Florentine steak is cooked on the grill on a nice elevator grill perhaps, or if you don't have space in the kitchen with a Japanese barbecue or a big green egg. The embers, the basics. I worked for 8 years in kitchens, even starred ones, I read many cookbooks and received a lot of criticism; accepting them is necessary to improve. Regarding Siena, it is well known that, despite being a city that offers excellent products, restaurateurs are unable to exploit them. It is no coincidence that in this beautiful city, which is a province, in one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany, there is still no starred restaurant. Then, you do it: continue to brainstorm for the Sienese and cook meat for the tourists; so it is with those you work with. As you can see, this is the only review on my Google profile: it's not my hobby, it's not my sport, but perhaps it's a good idea for it to become a commitment, given the progressive degradation of restaurants.

16/08/2024: Every dish is magic, at Babazuf. Every time I return to Siena I always make an appointment with Marco and it is always a very pleasant welcome. You can taste typical dishes of the local tradition, made with high quality ingredients. But also original proposals and renewed flavours. Large and colorful place, with both internal and external tables, overlooking the street. For an evening of joy and taste Babazuf is the right place 😉
13/08/2024: We returned again this summer and had yet another confirmation: excellent food, attentive and quick service and honest prices, which is increasingly rare these days. Well done, keep it up.

21/08/2024: We stumbled upon it by chance the day we arrived in Colle Val d'Elsa. We ordered Vitoni with duck ragù and green lettuce pappardelle with white rabbit ragù. Good food but small quantities, like a starred restaurant. Cover charge 3 euros per person!!! Prices honestly too high.

10/09/2023: Let me start by saying: the two cuts were good, the bread too, but 2 coffees, 1 grappa and 5 pieces of cantuccini, 1 draft beer and 75 cl of water, plus cover charge €7.00, bill €75.50 to me....it seems expensive....
