05/02/2025: Visitato in un periodo in cui a Monteriggioni e’ quasi tutto chiuso e non ci sono turisti. Arrivati alle 14.30 siamo comunque stati accolti con cortesia. Abbiamo gustato giusto un primo: dei gradevoli Pici cacio e pene, ben presentati e saporiti. Accompagnati ad un bicchiere di Nobile ci è bastato per rimanere soddisfatti. Prezzo in linea con la proposta e gestione molto cortese.

11/03/2025: Ogni volta che vado a Montepulciano vado o a pranzo o a cena si mangia da Dio e poi per chi è amante delle birre c'è un assortimento per tutti i gusti top conviene prenotare per tempo e sempre, non è molto grande ed è sempre pieno

02/03/2025: Already famous for an amazing selection of craft beers, the other pleasure at Bottega Matta is Mamma in the kitchen making the truly traditional dishes of the zone. Silvio is the maestro of beers and has won me over with different tastes every time (and I go often!). Don't miss this treasure, just 5 minutes from Montepulciano.

27/05/2025: The menu is a perfect combination of tradition and creativity. Every dish we tasted was prepared with the freshest ingredients and presented with care. A special round of applause goes to the mezze maniche with white ragù of Cinta Senese, simply sublime. The wine list is also well-stocked and the staff was able to recommend the perfect pairing. The service was impeccable: friendly, attentive but never intrusive. You can feel a true passion for hospitality and good food. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner, a special occasion or simply for those who want to indulge in a moment of true gastronomic pleasure. We will definitely be back!

07/05/2025: On the recommendation of our host Lorenzo from Palazzo di Valli, we ended up at San Desiderio - not a hidden secret address, but a very good recommendation for a stylish dinner in Siena. We were the first guests at 7 p.m., which surprised us a bit - it was probably due to the rain, because the restaurant definitely deserved to be busier. The San Desiderio is located in a quiet side street, just a few steps from the cathedral and the Piazza del Campo - central, but pleasantly away from the hustle and bustle. Housed in a former Romanesque church, the restaurant offers a special ambience with old brick walls, an impressive wooden beam ceiling and modern details such as large-format horse photographs on canvas. The cuisine combines Tuscan tradition with modern accents. The asparagus risotto was very fine in terms of color and taste, although a bit creamy for our taste. The fried eggs with truffles – simple to prepare but excellent in taste. The beef cheeks were a real highlight: tender as butter, served on creamy mashed potatoes. The sea bass with caramelized fennel and burrata cream was also harmonious and beautifully presented. The whole thing is complemented by an extremely friendly, attentive and multilingual service, which rounded off the visit very pleasantly. An all-round successful evening in a restaurant that wonderfully combines atmosphere, quality and hospitality. We would come back at any time.

31/05/2025: Visit to the village of Sangusme' and for lunch we saw this bruschetteria. Quick brunch with bruschetta (excellent) tomato and mozzarella. To return perhaps for a nice lunch or dinner.

23/04/2025: Truly amazing dinner! We ended up here on the advice of a local and he was exactly right: immersed in a charming village, the restaurant is very well looked after, whilst maintaining a genuine soul. Attentive and friendly service, really good food. We highly recommend it!

16/05/2025: On May 1st, for our daughter's first communion, we went to this very nice place. We are regular customers of the restaurant, always preferring the pizza which has always been excellent. The menu was proposed by the owner based on our needs (celiac guest) and our culinary tastes and was composed of: 4 appetizers 2 first courses 1 second course with side dish Water, wine, coffee, digestives and cake The service was impeccable, the staff friendly and attentive. The cuisine was fantastic with delicious flavors. The agnolotti were impeccable but the fried chiacchiere served with cured meats even more so 😊. The place is super welcoming and clean. I highly recommend it to all lovers of good food and quality service! 5 stars!

02/05/2025: Pessimo.strada sterrata.131 euro 2 primi una costata immangiabile, una salsiccia con 2 costine e mangiato malissimo.cameriera molto svogliata.Una costata così penosa non l'avevo mai assaggiata.

02/05/2025: Dirt road. Pici all'aglione that didn't taste like aglione. Rib expressly asked to show it to me but it arrived on the table, burnt hard and really bad. Sausages and ribs were actually a small sausage and 2 ribs and that was it. Side dish: dried and burnt baked potatoes, fried artichokes were actually artichokes with a sort of batter that we didn't like. Waitress absolutely not recommended, she didn't understand any of that as I was saying. At the time of payment we pointed this out but not even 1 euro discount. 131 euros with 20 euros of wine. In short, an evening to forget, perhaps we found the wrong evening but it seems strange to me that from the starters to the side dishes they were all made at random. Zero stars.

20/05/2025: Unfortunately, we didn’t find the food to be very good. My pasta was overcooked, and although I ordered tomato soup, I was served chickpea soup instead. The service in the restaurant was also disappointing – the waiter didn’t have time to properly attend to us and simply dropped the plates on our table without any interaction.

31/05/2025: Trattoria carina, ideale per una cena in famiglia. Abbiamo ordinato primi e secondi: carne e contorni buoni e ben preparati, mentre i primi ci hanno deluso. Il Picio con verdure e pomodorini era insipido e coperto da troppo prezzemolo (non indicato in carta), e anche il Picio con asparagi e pancetta era poco saporito. Quando ho fatto presente la cosa alla cameriera Ana, il suo atteggiamento è stato scostante e poco professionale: ha liquidato il commento scaricando la responsabilità sulla cucina, senza mostrare alcuna disponibilità o cortesia. Un comportamento che ha lasciato un certo malcontento e ha inciso negativamente sull’esperienza. Molto apprezzato invece il servizio dei camerieri giovani, in particolare una ragazza gentile, attenta e professionale, che ha reso la serata più gradevole.

31/05/2025: Un ristorante con un'atmosfera piacevole, musica rilassante, per non parlare delle specialità mangiate in questo ristorante, servizio eccezionale, il proprietario gentilissimo, le cameriere molto carine ed educate, e il servizio è 10 su 10, spero di poter tornare l'anno prossimo.. Tutto era eccezionale ❤️❤️

21/05/2025: We ate two appetizers, a tagliata and a large salad, a liter of house red wine, a place like the taverns of the past, unpretentious, but clean, simple food, a decent tagliata, could have been better, but it's ok with the place, total 68 euros.

13/05/2025: On a Monday evening when we were coming from Monteriggioni and Colle and couldn't find anything open, we found this nice little place in Casole... the pizzas were good and digestible, the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The environment was well-kept and particular, disturbed only by a table of noisy tourists - I think Americans... but this doesn't depend on the management! 😉
