Ristorante La Mandragola In San gimignano

After 7 years of frequent trips to San Gimignano we discovered this restaurant and it was a wow experience. Great service and food, nice location and atmosphere. A must try is home made pasta (I had the one with saffron), delicious appetizers also and great wine. A nice experience, to be repeated.

Absolute courtesy and professionalism

This was our favorite meal of our trip, and possibly favorite meal ever. We did the full tasting menu. Neither me nor my husband have ever experienced a tasting menu before and this was really a special experience. Both of our servers were attentive and our main server provided us with the perfect wine pairing for the night (without picking a ridiculously expensive bottle, he was honest about his favorite and the wine was perfect). We had 7 courses with generous portions of each course. Everything was spectacular. There were definitely some foods out of my comfort zone, but after trying them with an open mind it was all delicious. The service was well timed so we could enjoy each course. I’ve seen a few reviews regarding the 2 course minimum not being disclosed, but it’s on their menu very obviously if you’re not doing the tasting menu and that is likely because the plates are smaller than a plate in the US and it is customary in Italy to have two courses in restaurants (we experienced similar requirements when eating at higher end establishments in Rome as well). Overall I couldn’t recommend this experience more. Lovely staff, delicious food and a wonderful experience for our honeymoon. Grazie La Mandragola!

San Gimignano is a magical place, and I am lucky enough to have visited it in a period of low crowding (so to speak). We dedicated ourselves more to the artistic part, museums, churches, visit to the tallest tower. Beautiful place where you can breathe the air of the Middle Ages.

It is a good restaurant in the center of San Gimignano. Food is very good, service very attentive. We took the tasting menu, everything was good, but I think I'll dream about the onion pie forever, it was VERY GOOD. I recommend booking during the high season.

Fantastic, tasty refined dishes, excellent choice of wines. Every time new delights for the palate. Welcoming atmosphere and large garden overlooking the towers. The desserts are also good.

Beautiful location, excellent food and courteous waiters. Only the price of the dishes is a little high, but the quality is excellent. Advised!

Locale molto carino in pieno centro storico.personale accogliente e presente ma mai invadente. Menu tradizionale con spunti innovativi interessanti. Ottimi gli gnudi e il sugo di cinta senese. Il secondo la pluma discreto,buona la materia prima poco spinto il sapore. Vino scelto non dei migliori,la mezza di rosso chianti. Conto giusto
