21/06/2025: Maître d'hôtel le plus désagréable du monde. Nous sommes arrivés sans réservation certes, et on nous a proposé une table au fond devant 2 énormes ventilateurs bruyants et envoyant de l'air avec force sur la table. Cela ne nous covenant pas, nous nous sommes excusés pour le derangement.
Le maître d'hôtel est devenu arrogant et très désagréable. Il nous a litéralement chassés vers la sortie en s'autorisant à nous traiter de façon non professionnelle et indigne de ce restaurant si bien noté. Ce fut une expérience très loin du supportable.
13/06/2025: Wir waren auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant abseits vom Trubel und wurden fündig. Ein toller grüner ruhiger Platz.Wir hatten nicht reserviert zum Dinner. Der Chef empfieng uns sehr,sehr freundlich und gab uns einen Tisch. Die Freude setzte sich bei den gesamten Speisen mit Erklärung fort. Ein tolles hervorragendes Geschmackserlebnis und so freundliche Menschen. Das tut so gut inder heutigen Zeit. Ganz lieben Dank dafür.Grazie Mille.

LA MANGIATOIA

05/06/2025: There are lots of places to eat in San Gimignano, with a mix of touristy spots on the main streets. But head to the top of the town and turn off the main drag and you'll find La Mangiatoia tucked away round a quiet corner serving good quality Tuscan food for a fair price. Nice service by the owners and staff. Highly recommend. We had 2 pasta dishes and they were both excellent.
01/06/2025: Fantastic restaurant, Antonella cooks divinely, Annalisa is a discreet but very prepared hostess, the staff is decidedly professional.

10/06/2025: Beautiful restaurant, small but with very friendly and welcoming staff. We had asked for tiramisu which unfortunately was finished, despite this they were very kind in preparing a portion on the fly for us

19/06/2025: Don't order any grilled meat!!! They just burn it. Even baked potato were so bad and dry compare to other restaurants in the city. Nice restaurant but below average food for this price, it's a shame for such place to keep this chef.

03/06/2025: Fabulous place, very rustic and traditional, delicious typical Tuscan dishes.
Excellent risotto with asparagus, a little dull the strozzapreti with mushrooms. The perfect rabbit melted in the mouth, as did the wild boar.
Also very good the panna cotta. Perfect service, excellent advice on the wine. A very good red from Montalcino.
Good value for money, also considering the location.

15/06/2025: Buena ubicación. servicio razonable. muy ruidoso. comida mediocre. tenía costillas de cerdo que eran posiblemente las peores que he comido. embutidos italianos estaban bien, pero nada más allá de lo que uno compraría en un supermercado. la t - hueso / fiorentina también era apenas mediocre y yo diría que es un insulto al nombre del plato
Mejor prueba algo menos turístico

Solicite una mesa junto a la ventana al hacer su reserva o llegue temprano, espere afuera junto a la puerta principal y luego corra y tome una mesa junto a la ventana.
La comida era buena pero no excepcional.
Lo que no me gustó fue que no pudimos elegir el tamaño de nuestra bistecca toscana. Nos enseñaron un trozo de carne y cuando le dije a la camarera que era demasiado grande para nosotros, ella dijo que era eso. Así que, por supuesto, era demasiado grande para nosotros y terminamos dejando un montón de carne muy cara en nuestros platos.
