28/02/2026: The €19 mixed grill was disappointing: I was expecting a real mix of meats, but instead I received one sausage, three arrosticini, a bone with very little meat, and little else. Even the potatoes seemed to have been simply reheated. A plate with three slices of prosciutto and two buffalo mozzarellas for €10, but honestly, they had no flavor. The €19 Danish steak was a rather small slice; overall, it was average, but not commensurate with the price. The wild boar pappardelle were undercooked, and we weren't satisfied. Finally, the house wine, unfortunately, wasn't of high quality: it tasted like vinegar (we sent it back and got another). The salamis were good, but they weren't cured.

31/03/2026: What a disappointment: this restaurant is overrated! Recommended by guidebooks, this restaurant is charmingly tucked away on a quiet, typical little street: but that's where the charm ends. The food is genuinely lacking in talent and flavor: it's merely okay, and for €70 per person, there are much better options in Rome! The paintings covering the walls are sometimes daring and bold. On the other hand, the service is attentive.

27/03/2026: If you are lucky enough to eat here, be prepared for a delicious meal. Everything was wonderful and on point! If you like tiramisu, theirs is a must-try! Don't even bother trying to share! You won't want to give away any bites! 😉

19/03/2026: They are very kind and come over every second to make sure we haven't run out of water or wine. Reservations seem to be essential. When I mentioned it was my birthday, they gave us complimentary desserts, wished us a happy birthday, and even took photos for us. The food kept coming out non-stop, so I couldn't eat it all, but it was great. The prices are a bit on the higher side. It's delicious. Staffs are very kind and nice! Food is good, especially the dessert, and they serve it so repeatedly that I couldn't eat it all. It was a fantastic experience to have in Rome. Thanks

14/03/2026: The last time I went to Rome, I had a delicious truffle dish at this restaurant. This time, I made a reservation and visited again. This time, I had the black truffle tasting menu. It included one amuse-bouche, three appetizers, two pasta dishes, two main courses, an avant-dessert, a dessert, and even a small pastry. Every dish was delicious, and except for the amuse-bouche and dessert, all of them had truffles on them, giving them a wonderful aroma. However, with so many dishes, I was quite full, so I left half of the main course and dessert, and took the pastry home as a souvenir. It's a stylish restaurant with elegant service and superb food. Reservations seem to be essential on weekends. It's a restaurant I definitely want to visit again when I go to Rome. Thank you for the delicious meal!

15/03/2026: Very pleased with the good food, good wines and friendly service. My wife and I had a good three-course dinner with good wines. It was an expensive but both good and pleasant evening. The location is of course special, but it also contributes to the lovely atmosphere.

26/03/2026: I've been going to this restaurant for years and I've realized I've never written a review... Excellent selection of ingredients and a changing menu with always delicious off-menu items... Franco and Daniele are always available and kind, ready to recommend good wine and the delicious dishes that their mother has been preparing for years! Today we had a starter of artichoke alla giudia and cod fillet, and two main courses of roast suckling pig with potatoes! Everything was truly delicious, top notch! I highly recommend Tinello both for the quality and sophistication of the dishes and for the family atmosphere you'll find there.

18/03/2026: Restaurant just a few hundred meters from our hotel. During our 5-day stay, we visited this restaurant, which combines Roman and Abruzzese cuisine, and enjoyed it every time.

18/03/2026: Very disappointed. It's not possible to order a glass of wine; you absolutely have to order a bottle. A €28 plate without pasta, but it was too salty. I ordered pasta, which arrived 15 minutes later, but it was still undercooked. I thought I was coming to this restaurant for homemade food, but no, they take advantage of you. Disgusted.

11/03/2026: We had dinner on our first day in Rome at I monticiana, as we read great reviews and it was close to our hotel. We have nothing but positive things to say about the food and service. The waiters are attentive without being overbearing, and they’re polite and professional. For starters we ordered the bruschetta with tomatoes, artichokes, ricotta and olives. It was lovely, the bruschetta was crunchy and tasty and the toppings fresh and delicious. We also ordered jewish artichoke which was crispy and topped with a delicious finely grated hard cheese, and the cheese dip which was melted and gooey in the middle eith crispy edges . The mains were gnocchi, cacio e pepe pasta and skirt steak (the skirt steak was absolutely phenomenal highly recommend it). Overall 10/10 experience and they deserve all the high praised they get!

30/03/2026: The food was good, made with quality ingredients. The service was very slow; we waited for our aperitif drinks, which only appeared on the bill. The waiter was a bit overbearing for our liking.

16/02/2026: We happened upon this restaurant after a visit to the Roman Colosseum, Colosseum was very crowded, as we were very hungry and wanted to have lunch. The restaurant is charming and the waiters, the owner are very friendly. They speak English and Spanish. The pasta was excellent. I had the pasta with fish ( Tagliolini with cherry tomatoes and sea bass) something you would rarely find in the USA. My wife had the Gnocchetti ( don’t confuse with gnocchi) a coda di sore an all’ Amatriciana. That pasta was delicious and worth cleaning the plate with bread. If you are by the Roman Colosseum stop and eat a good meal at a friendly Italian restaurant near by.

31/01/2026: I went to this Hostaria today for the first time. The carbonara and coda alla vaccinara I ordered were truly exceptional. The prices were more than reasonable. The atmosphere was lovely and well-kept. The owner and waiter were friendly and professional. A total of 10 out of 10!
