17/08/2025: Today we went to eat on the recommendation of my brother-in-law Luigi in this osteria... we were welcomed by Mrs. Lulù with kindness that seemed to have known her forever... she advised us how to start with cold and hot appetizers... what can I say tripe... beans with pork rinds... a platter of truly excellent and quality cured meats and cheeses... we continued with various first courses... but the fettuccine with wild boar were truly top... the desserts, all good... but the crumbled one was truly delicious, never eaten so good... Well done Lulù! and all your staff, you are top🤗

15/08/2025: I was very pleased with the food, which was good. The staff was very fast and professional. The atmosphere was disappointing, as there was no air conditioning or fans, and you couldn't eat in these conditions. I don't recommend it. The staff were struggling with the heat, and the owner must first and foremost protect his employees and customers. It's not a good place.

20/08/2025: They don't make the first course of fusilli with speck and rocket anymore... absurd for many of us

09/08/2025: The food was good, although the shrimp were frozen. The service was a bit poor. They brought the steak to one of the guests and the two entrees after twenty minutes. Unacceptable. The waiters were not very friendly. The atmosphere was like a trattoria that was trying to improve on its quality, but it stumbled and failed. When I went there as a child, Il ragioniere was a very rustic, authentic trattoria that didn't pretend to amaze with special effects from the freezer.

25/08/2025: Homemade cuisine at a reasonable price. They cook very well, and the pasta is exquisite. I recommend the carbonata, the gricia, the pesto, and the cacio e pepe. The tiramisu is excellent, and the apple strudel is spectacular. The love and experience in the kitchen are evident. A must-try in Rome.

03/09/2025: Loved this place! It was recommended by a friend who had met the owner back in the US over 20 years ago. It’s family owned & operated…tucked away from the crowds! The meal was absolutely fantastic. From the wine, to the lamb & pasta and the tiramisu, it was magnificent. A true gem!

24/07/2025: Small nice restaurant in a small side street. The most delicious food and good service. Good atmosphere and at a very affordable price. The waiter was very attentive and good at recommending/guiding and telling about the food

24/07/2025: Dined here late July 2025, family of 5 adults and two kids aged 6 and 9, having been recommended by friends. Price point is a notably lower than most surrounding restaurants. Restaurant appearance inviting but lacking the bells and whistles of other restaurants, but that’s fine with us, as long as food and service is good. Very happy with the standard of both, so much so we broke our rule of not going back to the same place twice. Steak with Gorgonzola was excellent, quality cut cooked perfectly. Pizzas were excellent and a big hit with the kids, “best pizzas” they’d ever had apparently. Lasagne was excellent, far better than others we’d had in Rome, perfect balance of ingredients. Service really made the experience that much better. Unfortunately, didn’t get their names but both nights we were serviced by staff who made us feel so welcome and had banter with our kids - that little extra effort that always make the experience for diners (and especially their kids) memorable. Only reason we didnt give 5 star for atmosphere is because the location isn’t exactly the best although they make the most of what alfresco dining area they have, so it was still enjoyable. Literally the only criticism, at a stretch, is the Caprese Salad was a bit tight on Basil.

16/08/2025: Very few vegetarian options, and the owner tries to be friendly, but gets too familiar, creating a less than pleasant atmosphere. Otherwise, it's a classic Roman trattoria like hundreds of others.

15/08/2025: I don't often write reviews because I'm lazy, but this time I wanted to give it five stars and share my experience. Let's start with the atmosphere: a historic, no-frills trattoria that hasn't changed over the decades (or at least that's what I felt, even though it was my first time there). For those looking for tradition with a modern twist, I recommend going elsewhere: here, you live and breathe pure tradition. Whether that's a virtue or a vice, I'll leave it to the reader to decide; as for me, I think you've made my point. The waitress was very kind and friendly. Overall, there was a sense of camaraderie and belonging among the workers, or at least that was my impression. But now let's get to the main reason why people generally choose to spend a few dozen euros to eat out rather than stay at home: the culinary offerings. I'll briefly review all the dishes I had the chance to try, sharing them with others. - Mixed appetizer: a few slices of quality pork loin, some olives, and a truly delicious potato flan. All at a more than affordable price. Rating: 8 - Bruschetta with porcini mushrooms: truly delicious but a bit pricey. Quality rating: 9. Price rating: 5. Average: 7. - Bucatini all'amatriciana: perhaps not the best amatriciana I've ever had, but certainly an excellent amatriciana. Rating: 8 - Fettuccine with chicken giblets: the fact that they offer this now virtually impossible-to-find Roman classic is already appreciated, but above all, the way they present it is appreciated. My taste buds were delighted and asked me to return to Trattoria Lilli to try this dish again. Rating: 10 - Meatballs all'amatriciana: imagine excellently made meatballs, with a well-balanced flavor, in a delicious amatriciana sauce. Rating 9 - Fornara with potatoes: along with fettuccine with chicken giblets, this is another traditional Roman dish that's hard to find anywhere else, and it gives you the feeling you're eating something you'll definitely have to return to Trattoria Lilli to enjoy again. The fornara is exceptional. The potatoes are neither good nor bad. Overall rating 9. - Chicory: This dish comes close, almost, to my ideal sautéed chicory: almost dry and crunchy, decidedly bitter. To get a 10, the only thing missing was a more generous dose of chili pepper (assuming there was chili pepper, I didn't even taste it). But I understand that pushing the chili pepper further would mean disappointing a large segment of the clientele. Rating 9. - Grappa offered: a gesture appreciated, rating 10. - House wine: it should have been colder, rating 6. Trattoria Lilli: the food and the atmosphere are divine. Could a small anticchietta be cheaper? Maybe so, but it must be said that we're a 5-minute walk from Piazza Navona and that we got by with just over 30 euros each, even though my three companions were women and clearly ate less than me. In summary: Trattoria Lilli scores a 9. I hope and plan to return. Hugs to the workers ✊️. Marco

27/07/2025: Excellent! Everything was delicious, from the arrosticini to the steak to the grilled radicchio. The beef fillet with pistachios: a delight for the palate 😋 Highly recommended!

25/07/2025: Lunch for 4. We each ordered a first course and a side dish. The carbonara was quite good, but let's say not unforgettable. Slow service: it felt like they were finishing up one table and then starting the next one based on when it arrived.

17/08/2025: What a shame to lose stars for not updating your Google My Business account. It's August 17th, 8 PM, and we've been eyeing your establishment for several weeks. And how disappointed we are to see it closed when your Google page lists it as open until 11 PM. What a shame.

16/08/2025: The food was very tasty. Simple, with very good ingredients. We waited a long time to order—about 20 minutes for drinks. The prices are a bit high, but worth it.

06/09/2025: Great meal. Service was very observant and for all of the Michelin restaurants I have been to, I would say this restaurant has Michelin service. Would recommend on this factor alone. I liked the majority of food, and left very full.

01/09/2025: Inventive menu where every dish surprises the palette. The copious number of amuse-bouche offerings shower the table from beginning to end. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The lower level room with dark decor and accent lighting is both playful and elegant.
