I personally prefer amatriciana to carbonara, but they both do pretty well.

Very good food, one of our best experiences so far. They have an argentinian flair, offering steaks from there, and playing neo-tango music in the background. Very nice.

Amazing food and staff!! To set the scene - we were fresh off a long flight and got a bus to Roma Termini and then walked to our hotel in the heat. We are starving and stop at the first place that looked decent. Now, two weeks later, my partner asks me what was the best dish I had in Italy? It has to be the carbonara in I Monticiani! We stopped in to this small restaurant and sat outside under the shelter. The staff were quick, attentive, and proficient. We ordered the mixed meats and cheese antipasti to share - this was very good quality, though a fairly basic selection. We also got the caprese salad which was fresh and excellent. The most impressive part was the pasta dishes - my partner got the ragu which he get was tasty, but I got the carbonara which was amazing! The sauce was strongly egg yolky and of an excellent flavour. My partner couldn’t stop stealing bites! This is a quaint, casual restaurant, which would not be suitable for an event or nice night out, but an excellent find where you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent value for money, made by an Argentinian owner. Appetizer, main, dessert, small bottle of wine, and water for a family of 4 for 100 euros. The spaghetti vongole and carbonara were very delicious. The tiramisu recommended by many people wasn't that good because it had too much mascarpone. Crema and Catalan were better.

We had bruschetta first, spaghetti carbonara and lasagne as main courses, and crème brûlée, tiramisu and espresso for dessert. Everything was incredibly fresh and incredibly tasty. The staff was attentive and very friendly. We had a great evening here and our children also felt very comfortable. You should definitely NOT be put off by the rustic atmosphere here.

This place was recommended to us by our personal driver. This was a wonderful place to dine. The service was fantastic, the food was excellent, and the prices are reasonable. We tried to eat here late Wednesday night, but without a reservation, they couldn't get us in. We returned Thursday evening, at an earlier time, and they had plenty of room for us. I had a steak, with a side order of oven roasted potatoes, that was prepared perfectly. My wife has a pasta dish that was excellent. If you want the chocolate cake, remember to order it about 10 minutes ahead of when you would like it served. Both it, and the Tiramisu, were excellent. They also have an excellent selection of wines to choose from. I enjoyed a small bottle of Malbec with my dinner, and it too was delicious.

Great time! We loved it, the food was really good and typical Italian. The staff is super welcoming. In short, I strongly advise you to go there!

Ottima la carne, ottimo il vino rosso Malbec. Patate fritte, meno. Cicoria buona. Gentilezza e accoglienza garantiti, luogo molto piacevole in quel delirio turistico che è ormai Roma e la sua ristorazione, e la zona Monti non fa eccezione.
