I Monticiani In Roma

We were recommended this place by our AirBnB host and it was delicious. The steak had a wonderful flavor, well-seasoned and cooked the way we ordered. Pasta was also very good. Service was fantastic, Emiliano was very kind to show us our way through the menu, explaining patiently the different choices particularly as it was our first day visiting Rome. Very recommended!

This restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host for exceptional Argentinian steak. They were spot on - my husband said the steak was the best he ever had. I had a chicken dish that was nice, and really good chips. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere on the terrace was buzzing and enjoyable. Great find.

Had coffee after a round of sightseeing- atmospheric sitting outside, outstanding perfect coffee!!! Tasty cake. Very friendly service though not speaking English. Bar any coffee in the morning, restaurant in the evening ( didn’t eat there so can’t say anything about that although the menu sounded good)

Excellent evening with Argentinian and Italian specialties paired with very good wines (Malbec). A must-see tourist destination.

Visited in May 2026. A wonderful Italian restaurant. Highly recommended! It seems to be a popular spot with locals. We tried to go to the carbonara restaurant across the street, but it was crowded, so we spontaneously came here without a reservation. We were lucky to get in without a reservation, but it was full, so I recommend making a reservation if possible. We ordered white wine, sautéed chicory, artichoke, vongole, cacio e pepe, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious, but the cacio e pepe was particularly impressive. The moment it hit your mouth, the cheese and saltiness hit you hard—it was irresistible! Highly recommended. At other restaurants in Rome, I'd only eaten meat and cheese pasta, so the seafood aroma of the vongole was wonderful and refreshing. 🐚 The chicory was a little bitter, but it was perfect as a snack with wine. The artichoke was also delicious, seasoned like peperoncino. The tiramisu is very large, so I recommend sharing one between two people if you order it. Also, this might only have been the case on that day, but they gave us complimentary limoncello at the end (equally to all customers as well). The interior of the restaurant has a slightly dim and calm atmosphere. One of the staff members was very cheerful, and when I mentioned I was from Japan, they told me "It's delicious!" in Japanese. They were very attentive throughout the meal, which I appreciated. The service was very pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful time. Grazie!

We arrived without a reservation, as the inside of the restaurant was completely empty we thought a walk-in would be no problem. As we entered we were asked about our reservation, when I said we had none we were told all the tables were booked. When I pointed to the empty tables we were shown to a table by the entrance – not a great start! However, after the initial confusion the staff were really friendly and helpful. The menu is not the same was we saw on the Google reviews but we were looking for the proper Carbonara which we knew they served. The food was excellent, and well priced. We were there just over an hour and only 4 people had turned up for the reserved tables! We’d would go here again but I’d suggest having a reservation as it seems to be a thing

Perfect restaurant with top-notch staff. Excellent food and a great atmosphere.

The food is exceptionally good! The entrecote was perfect, medium-rare! The highlight was the delicious dessert (chocolate cake with sauce and cream), which was recommended by the staff. If we come back to Rome, we are very much looking forward to I Monticiani! Grazie mille!
