04/05/2025: I love this place. We sort of happened upon it when we were caught up in traffic. Soft, crispy pizza, fresh seafood and homemade bread and the staff make huge effort to give you a fun time. If you want something ‘sophisticated’ and high-end look elsewhere but if you want tasty AF food and friendly staff, come to this place. Love it - love it.

09/06/2025: Two gin and tonics with a platter of cold cuts, 50 euros. The place is nice, the staff is kind but, to me, 50 euros seems a bit too much.

08/06/2025: During our two-day stay in Cagliari, we visited this place three times—once for breakfast and twice for aperitivo. For breakfast, we absolutely loved the croissants and especially the pancakes with sweet mascarpone—they were unforgettable (I even asked for the recipe for the mascarpone cream 🫢). We came back twice in the evenings for aperitivo, enjoying fantastic cocktails like the Rosa Natural and Mojito Passion.

22/05/2025: “Welcome to the experience… welcome to Calvi” It’s not just a slogan. It’s exactly what happens when you enter their home: they open the doors to their home, welcome you with a smile and treat you like family. This is Calvi: warmth, passion, care. It’s one of those places where you don’t just go to eat well — even if, trust me, you eat like a god — but to live a moment. The place is elegant and welcoming, with large and comfortable spaces. But my favorite corner is near the pass, because from there I can see everything. The kitchen is completely open, a real theater where the show never stops. I could stay there for hours watching how they move, how they take care of every detail… and in fact, every now and then, my wife calls me to order! Chef Donato is young, but with an edge. He has a head, a heart and a lot of hunger (not just for cooking, but for growing): he studies, travels, puts himself to the test. He never stops. Angelica, on the other hand, is the sommelier you would always like to have at your table: brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable. She reads inside you and can always recommend the right glass, even if you want to dare with a cocktail or a spirit. In the dining room there is also Domenica, sweet, smiling, who makes you feel immediately at ease. Their cuisine is lively, contemporary, but rooted in tradition. You can find meat, fish, vegetarian dishes, daily specials, new dishes every season... but always with a clear philosophy: seasonality, respect for the raw materials and zero waste. I have eaten some of the best dishes of my life at their place. And every time it is different, because the menu changes, the inspiration changes... but the quality never changes. And then there are the leavened products. Bread, focaccia, sandwiches, panettone, brioche: all made by them, with sourdough and selected flours. I often stop by just to get the freshly baked bread, because it is truly special. I close with desserts and ice creams… which are not just “good”. They are poetry. The ice creams are churned on the spot, the desserts are never banal. Calvi is not just any restaurant. It is a real experience, made of heart, technique, family and so much beauty. If you have the chance, go there. Let yourself be embraced.

22/05/2025: I must admit that I have never been to the Calvi restaurant and it was a truly pleasant discovery, a gastronomic experience that manages to combine elegance and simplicity with great balance. The cuisine is of the highest level, with attention to the smallest details both in the plating and in the flavors. Each dish tells a story of research and passion, thanks to excellent quality ingredients, fresh and carefully selected. The combinations are refined but never excessive, capable of enhancing the natural flavors without overloading them. The service is another strong point: friendly, present but never intrusive, with a staff always ready to recommend and explain with competence the dishes and the wines to pair. You feel pampered from start to finish. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a lunch with friends. The environment manages to convey serenity, with an attention to detail that is also reflected in the furnishings and background music. Finally, the quality-price ratio is more than fair. Considering the quality of the ingredients, the mastery of the kitchen and the level of service, the bill is absolutely adequate and well balanced. In short, Calvi is a restaurant where you gladly return: to eat well, relax and feel welcomed. A round of applause to Donato for his passion. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, the waiter recommended dishes off the menu which we appreciated very much, not to mention the pasta which was perfect. We will definitely return when we return to Fiuggi!!!

24/05/2025: This was the best restaurant we went to when we stayed in Monterosso. It started off with amazing views that lead into an awesome experience from meeting the owner & chef. The food was OUTSTANDING. I had the florentine steak & my wife had the Pesto pasta. Both were incredible and then we finished the night off with the chocolate soufflé. We called a taxi to go up but they took us back down, excellent service and highly recommend!

06/05/2025: The British Corner - tearoom and antique shop - The British Corner is a very small UK corner in the heart of Pigneto, in Rome. In the small tea room, Michele and Salvatore - the owners and managers - in addition to offering delicious variations of scones and cakes that accompany the countless blends of tea, offer for sale Victorian porcelain, very original teapots, antique jewellery, everything coming from British antique markets. In the small room with a vaguely fané feel, groups reading Jane Austen's novels also meet periodically, dressed in the style of the early 19th century in England. New entry in the 'gastronomic' proposal of late spring, the Saturday and Sunday brunch, the famous 'full English breakfast' to which, for those with a sweet tooth, cakes, scones and sandwiches are added. The prices are absolutely low and the service is friendly and polite.
