25/04/2026: A fantastic experience amidst the winding roads of Abruzzo. After a motorcycle ride through Guardiagrele, Casoli, the Verde River springs in Fara San Martino, Palena, Campo di Giove, and Pacentro, we crossed the San Leonardo Pass and stopped for lunch at Locanda del Barone in San Vittorino (descending just before Caramanico).
The restaurant is wonderful, with a beautifully landscaped outdoor garden, perfect for relaxing. Lunch was top-notch: on the owner's recommendation, we opted for three starters, all perfect. We then continued with superb handmade arrosticini and exceptional roast lamb. The dessert, a lemon tart, was also excellent.
The value for money is amazing, with the bill being decidedly modest considering the high quality of the dishes. We wanted to show our biker friends from Bari the best of Abruzzo, and thanks to this lunch, we achieved perfection. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back! Booking in advance is recommended.

It's not listed in the Michelin Guide for that reason.
Recommended, especially the menu they offer.
03/04/2026: We not only dined here but also stayed overnight, which made the experience extra special. The room was simple but fully equipped and, above all, very clean.
We opted for the extensive menu with wine pairings, and that was absolutely the right choice. The dishes were surprising and refined, with the carpaccio, ravioli, and maiale nero being the real highlights. The wines were excellently chosen and paired incredibly well with every dish.
The service deserves special mention: very attentive, with a high level of service without ever becoming stiff or formal. We received a clear and pleasant explanation with every dish. You can feel the family involvement and passion everywhere.
Breakfast was also perfectly catered for, again with the same warm and attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble.
The overall experience naturally comes with a price tag, but that is more than justified — after all, it remains a Michelin-starred restaurant. Moreover, the fact that you can also stay overnight here is a great added value.
We felt particularly welcome from start to finish. Everything is local, prepared with care and passion. Highly recommended.

09/04/2026: Chosen for Easter Sunday, one of the few offering an à la carte menu and highly rated on Google.
We had a rich appetizer, recommended for two, very generous and with various tastings, all very good, especially the exceptional pecorino cheeses.
Followed by two first courses, generous portions and very tasty.
We would have liked to try the meat (we saw some very inviting dishes pass by) and the desserts, but we were at capacity. They then offered limoncello and meloncello, both homemade.
The place is charming, with a rustic elegance, and the service was friendly and efficient despite the crowds.
The bill was €57, which I'd say was more than fair for the overall quality.
Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

12/04/2026: What a place! The atmosphere reflects the care and warmth of a family-run Italian restaurant, and the food truly makes you feel that. It is a local spot, away from the typical tourist routes, that showcases what we understand to be the culture of Abruzzo.
Note: If you do not have a reservation, arrive right at opening time and ask in advance if there is availability. Reservations are usually required.
What a place! The space conveys the care and intimacy of a family-run Italian restaurant, and the food makes you feel that deeply. It is a local restaurant, off the beaten tourist track, that showcases what we understand to be the culture of Abruzzo.
Note: If you do not have a reservation, arrive right at opening time and ask in advance if there is space. Reservations are usually required.

We felt at ease... and the food was amazing. We tried different dishes on different days and loved everything.
The owners were kind and attentive.

15/03/2026: I called to make a reservation for Sunday lunch. They welcomed us, but didn't inform us in advance about the mandatory fixed menu on Sundays and the lack of pizza dough, which is always available on Sundays. Reluctantly, we had to leave.
04/03/2026: Excellent food with home-style cooking from a family-run restaurant. Reasonable prices and excellent service. Must try! The lunch starters are truly excellent, especially the chitarra pasta with meatballs, absolutely TOP!

17/04/2026: Still one of the best pizzerias I've ever known.
12/04/2026: The experience wasn't entirely convincing. The menu is extensive, but upon closer inspection, the pizzas are actually very similar; for example, almost all are plain pizzas or have almost all the same ingredients. It was a bit unusual that the pizzas arrived just five minutes after ordering (it was a busy Saturday), and while the ingredients were undoubtedly good, the dough was rubbery and almost raw in the middle (the pizza itself wasn't even very hot). Furthermore, given that dinner lasts a maximum of an hour and a half, we felt quite pressured, considering the waiters' insistence on asking if we wanted anything else or remembering our table number as the fateful 9:30 pm approached.

09/05/2026: This place has made it to the top of my favorites. They have a huge selection of beers on tap, and all the ones I've tried have never disappointed. The quality is also evident in the food. I started with the sandwiches the first few times, which are large and packed with ingredients without getting boring. Excellent combinations. I know they make their own bread. I also tried the pizza, but not the sliced one. I chose the round one, which is really large, and I must say the dough was light, with excellent tomato sauce and delicious mozzarella. Plus, the spicy salami was salami, not ventricina del Chietino. It will be a regular stop for me. Well done everyone!

07/03/2026: A restaurant where the quality far exceeds the price. Their specialty is pizza, which I would describe as gourmet. The potatoes are a signature dish. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a great place to go alone, as a couple, or with the family. The area is quiet and offers a beautiful view during the day.
19/12/2025: Pizza taken on a Friday evening ordered on glovoo, arrived early, 4 pizzas all delicious, soft, full of toppings, a nice discovery.

06/05/2026: A quick lunch on the way back from Pescara to Florence. Parking was no problem, but we were on a motorbike. The food was good, the guys were quick and friendly, and there's nothing better by the sea.
Arrosticini and vegetables were top notch.

05/04/2026: It was my first time eating on a trabucco, and I hope to do it again soon, even though it won't be easy from Rome, because it was a unique experience. The setting was beautiful; eating with the sound of the sea accompanying you was relaxing. The dishes were all excellent and made with quality ingredients. I really appreciated the time between courses; it gave me the chance to appreciate the view and enjoy my meal without the stress of rushing between courses.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable in explaining the dishes.
