05/05/2026: The restaurant is elegant and refined, with a relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful view outside. The highlight is definitely the quality of the fish, especially the raw fish, which is truly fantastic, incredibly fresh, and of the highest quality. The service was courteous and professional, with reasonable wait times. The staff was helpful in recommending both dishes and wine pairings. The prices are medium-high, but justified by the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience. Highly recommended.

We tried several others during our stay in Turin, and Taverna’s was head and shoulders above all the rest.

24/12/2025: Gourmet lunch in Piedmont Beautiful setting in a small Piedmont village, with attentive and fast service. We enjoyed an aperitif, two glasses of prosecco, and were served four entrées: a chickpea cone, a savory baba, a blue cheese and hazelnut tart, and tomato chips with fresh cream and anchovies with lemon jelly. Very special. There were several tasting menus available, as well as the à la carte menu. We chose the Territory and Tradition tasting menu for €70 per person. Typical Monferrato dishes presented with care. Piedmontese Fassona tartare, rosemary and mustard, smoked egg yolk and shallots, truly excellent. Traditional plinth, roast gravy and thyme, Piedmontese fillet, celeriac, black cabbage, and Bordeaux sauce. Everything was delicious. The pre-dessert, you either love it or hate it, was a very special vinegar sorbet. The dessert: I'm not...a Bonet! Made with the ingredients of a bunet. We were served a small pastry along with coffee and four small sweets. Drinks are not included. Cover charge is €5, 75cl water €4, and we spent €208 for two. Recommended for a special occasion.

The setting, housed in a beautifully restored historic villa, is truly evocative, with a frescoed interior and refined atmosphere, perfect for a romantic evening or an important occasion.

The crepes are good and unique, but I personally found them to be underfilled (in fact, I had to eat two to be full) and topped with a lot of salad, which I think is avoidable. The prices are a bit high. Despite this, it was a positive experience!

06/06/2026: Simply the best restaurant in Stresa by a country mile. We ate there twice and wasted one meal we could have had there trying somewhere else-what fools were we! Fabulous.

05/06/2026: It was the best gastronomic experience of the four days we spent in Stresa. The dishes were made with excellent ingredients and beautifully presented, and the almond rice was divine and mouth-watering. The restaurant is very welcoming, intimate, and softly lit, with a beautiful open kitchen. The service was attentive and professional, and the entire staff was impeccable and very friendly, something we didn't find in other places, even the most renowned ones. The atmosphere was lovely. Not to be missed.

17/05/2026: The interior is average, but the panoramic view from the windows is truly beautiful; this is probably the restaurant's strong point. The food is very good and high-quality, but the portions are RIDICULOUS, with exorbitant prices. They're portions worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, large plates, with very little inside—just look at the photos. The cover charge, water charge, and coffee charge are ridiculous; I can understand the price of wine, but hey... water is water, and so is coffee. The wait times are incredibly long; if you're looking to spend a Sunday afternoon, then it's fine: for three courses (appetizer, first course, dessert, and coffee), it took us three and a half hours—the kind of meal for a special occasion. There's parking, but it fills up quickly on Sundays, so they either make you double-park or park on the dirt road leading to the restaurant. €70 per person.

14/05/2026: Simply a perfect experience! La Locanda in Cannubi is a gem in the heart of the Barolo vineyards. The food is extraordinary: traditional Piedmontese dishes prepared with great care and using excellent ingredients. The wine list is incredible, featuring local wines and truly refined selections. The welcome is warm from the first moment, and the staff is professional, attentive, and always smiling. The service is impeccable without ever being intrusive. A magical place where quality, scenery, and hospitality blend perfectly. Highly recommended!

11/05/2026: I went there for lunch on Sunday, May 10th, before going to the Teatro Regio for an afternoon performance. It's a delightful place: small and cozy, just the way I like it (you need to reserve, as there are no more than 25 seats), and the staff is kind and attentive, without being intrusive. The food is delicious, prepared with traditional Piedmontese recipes. The menu isn't very extensive, but that's a positive, as the dishes are very carefully crafted. Fair prices: we had two appetizers (creamed cod and crusted asparagus with savory zabaglione), two main courses (braised cheek with potatoes and rabbit with olives, pine nuts, and roast potatoes), two desserts (a bun and a soft chocolate and pear cake, with "real" whipped cream, not the kind from spray cans), two glasses of wine, recommended to pair with the dishes by the very kind woman who looked after us, and two coffees. The bill was €80.00. We will definitely be back next time we come to Turin.

08/04/2026: Debora Alberto 1/5 14 minutes ago on Google Debora Alberto 1/5 right now on Google I don't usually like to give negative reviews, but in this case it's absolutely necessary, firstly because of the room management's attitude and secondly because of a whole other set of standards that a 4-star hotel should have, but in this place they aren't even close to meeting them. 1. Safety: steep stairs without a handrail to reach the "suite"; 2. "Suite" with lots of quotation marks; a hole in the parquet floor and up to that point; stained sheets that were changed by the receptionist upon request; and well, poor attention to detail in general. What shocked us was that the next morning a light bulb hanging at head height exploded, having accidentally knocked it directly onto the bed in my partner's face. The staff was unable to handle the situation; they seemed confused and annoyed. Furthermore, they didn't offer a refund for the "suite room," etc. They even reported to "Booking," the booking site, that we didn't show up to avoid a negative review. Truly, truly horrible behavior. We will never return!!! It's not a 4-star hotel; in the morning, they arrive at breakfast with sugar packets counted. Given its location, it could even be a nice place, but the amenities are lacking, and the security and staff are incompetent!!! Rating: 0!!

08/03/2026: A splendid and impeccably maintained location; unfortunately, the cuisine still needs some improvement to fully live up to the setting. The initial wait was a bit long, but overall bearable: the location and the view help you enjoy the moment. Expectations were high, especially since it's a place we'd love to return to. A few small adjustments to the dishes would be advisable: • Octopus alla Luciana: tender and flavorful, but slightly dry and cut with a knife not exactly suited to the task; • Tagliolini with cacio e pepe and mussels: tasty, but these also arrived a bit dry. An interesting note about the bread: we were told "we'll bring you some warm bread soon"... we expected it to be freshly baked, but instead it was lukewarm but cold in the middle—hard to understand why. The portions were still good, and the dishes were tasty overall. The unsolicited discount at the end was appreciated. Overall, a positive experience: we'll be back.

03/05/2026: We started with a truly exceptional mixed antipasto: delicate flan, Fassona beef tartare with top-quality truffles, and perfectly prepared veal with tuna sauce. The first courses confirmed the exceptionally high quality of the cuisine: creamy and flavorful Barolo risotto with Piedmontese toma cheese, fragrant porcini mushroom risotto, and simply delicious agnolotti del plin with the aroma of the Langhe. The extensive and carefully selected wine list is perfect for accompanying every course. Special praise goes to the staff and the owner, always attentive, courteous, and ready to offer the best possible advice. Generous portions and truly excellent value. We'll definitely be back!
