26/02/2026: When you arrive, it feels like you're entering someone's home. The door looks like a cellar door because it's made of wood, and you have to go down some steps. The restaurant sign is small and attached to the wall. With the dim lighting, it's hard to spot. After this detail, the menu surprises you with pleasant and refined flavors. On a Saturday night, there were us (2 + 1 stroller, and the stairs are inconvenient), another table for 2, and a table for 5.

04/01/2026: Excellent service, a pleasant experience. The food was truly excellent, with sophisticated dishes that remain true to tradition.

21/12/2025: As soon as we parked the car, we looked around and noticed the parking lot was completely deserted. We could only glimpse two people inside, and this was the first alarm bell. As soon as we crossed the threshold, the location didn't even seem bad—in fact, very welcoming and modern—but immediately afterward, only one thing was persuading our nostrils: a nauseating smell of spoiled fish. We looked at each other and thought: must it be the smell of the aquarium in the lobby? Undaunted, we took our seats at our table, ordering at 9:27 PM... and at 9:50 PM, there was no sign of any food. Finally, our dishes arrived: the salmon sashimi was full of grease, hosomaki and uramaki tasteless, and the salmon tartare drowned in a sauce that tasted like burnt oil. We even tried some cooked/hot dishes (we'd never done that before) after another long wait for the second order, finally the udon and shrimp arrived, completely cold and disgusting. I looked at my friend and that was the signal: we both got up, put on our jackets and went to the cash register after trying to explain the problem to the waitress, but not knowing Italian, it was like talking to a brick wall. Moral of the story, they charged us a reduced price (€27.00) because, according to her, we had to tell her before all the dishes arrived. It was a nightmare dinner, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

24/08/2025: The staff were welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate. We found pizzas, focaccias, and cookies of all kinds. The prices were reasonable. Just outside the city center, but worth the detour.

05/01/2026: While I understand that being a restaurant owner/waitress is tiring and demanding, constantly taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables, the consistently poor attitude I've seen in other reviews is baffling. What I don't understand is why, if they're so unhappy, they'll work there for so long and then pass that negativity on to customers. Their answers to food-related questions are curt and cold, with an attitude of "take it or leave it." And the food is simply awful—worse than anything I've made during my six-month cooking exchange program.

03/01/2026: Potion size is very small, one could easily eat 2 fried rice, we have ordered 1 vegetable fried rice (with extra egg) as shown in the picture and another chicken fried rice (almost similar as the veg fried rice picture). Ordered as spicy but its very mild spicy, their chill sauce is very different from other places, felt more like tomato pickle. Chicken texture (ordered chill chicken) is so different, I’m not sure how. Its very saggy, but tasty though because of chill sauce.

07/12/2025: I hope for the owners' sake that it was a bad night, because that's not the case. I won't list the reasons why six of us left the table deeply disappointed by almost everything.

05/03/2026: Bad, maybe a bad night... We weren't satisfied with the food. The first course was nothing special, well cooked but decidedly flavorless. The meat was bad, very bad, fatty cuts, flavorless, and overcooked. The desserts followed the same progression as the other two courses.

21/01/2026: Unique location, below street level. Very good first and second courses (the duck ragù is better than the classic Tuscan ragù). Very friendly and helpful staff. You can also visit the 1st-century BC Roman cistern, which is inside the restaurant. Average Volterra prices: we took advantage of a discount with The Fork.
