01/11/2025: Located in a small village with beautiful views and a tranquility that, if you go to those places, well, it's exactly what you're looking for!! The owner welcomes you like a home away from home, always with his wonderful smile!! Beautiful, new, and clean rooms!! A hearty, classic breakfast with delicious items, served with a smile and plenty of it, so much so that they always stop by to check if you need anything else. What can I say... I can't wait to come back and stay again!!!

26/10/2025: A pleasant hotel without too many pretensions

19/10/2025: I asked the waitress if it was possible to split the bill, and she said yes. At the counter, I reiterated my desire to split the bill (so the total divided by 2, very simple) and specified that I wanted to pay in cash. In a very pedantic and impolite manner, the cashier said, "If you could tell me how many of you there are..." when two minutes earlier he had personally said we could split, and there were only two of us in front of the counter, which didn't imply there were more than one of us. Perhaps a little politeness and kindness wouldn't hurt, since I expressed my request very politely. A smile doesn't cost much, and politeness even less. :)

29/09/2025: Excellent bar, wonderful food, especially the two chefs, Carmine and Angie, who were very kind. When I asked about the menu, the seafood carbonara was excellent. I will definitely be back.

13/09/2025: Wonderful little place! On our way back from a trip to the area, we decided to extend our stay and stop here for dinner. It was a delightful experience with very hospitable service. They had fresh porcini mushrooms picked that day and brought us a truly generous tagliatelle, which we devoured! It's a shame the tray wasn't edible, otherwise we would have eaten that too. Thank you, and see you soon!

27/09/2025: If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would! We visited Trattoria Da Vasco on Monday 22 Sept 25, for dinner, based on a recommendation. Whilst my spaghetti carbonara was OK (not great), the spinach and ricotta ravioli my partner ordered was inedible. It arrived floating in a bowl of what appeared to be pasta water, with no sauce and tasted horrible. We sent it back and asked very nicely if we could please order something else as my partner had only had a mouthful. He tried the spaghetti Bolognese but again, it was terrible. The pasta had not been drained properly and again there was water at the bottom of the bowel. The sauce was barely discernible and the most prominent taste was dish washing liquid. Again, my partner could not eat this and had barely a mouthful. Now very hungry we decided to pay for what we could eat and drink. I went inside to explain this and pay. The manager /owner immediately started shouting at me aggressively in Italian, which unfortunately I do not speak. He was extremely intimidating and stood very close to me. He would not let the waitress translate for me, even though her English was good enough. He immediately threatened to call the police and would not stop shouting for one moment. I ended up in tears in the restaurant. At this point my partner who was sitting outside heard the noise and stepped in to protect me, just in time for the police to arrive. The police had to physically hold the manager back, still shouting at us both. I paid the bill (and entirely unwarranted €44!) just to get out of there. It was an awful meal and a worse experience. I suggest avoiding this 'restaurant' at all costs. The police were lovely and listened patiently to what happened. Of course they agreed with us as customers and had a stern talking to the manager/owner. I have travelled extensively, and been to Italy many times, and have never been treated so badly.

26/09/2025: A family-run trattoria, when you enter Vasco, you feel like part of the family. Typical Lucca dishes, truly well-made and generous portions. This is our second time here, and we'll continue to do so. I highly recommend this place.

05/11/2025: Recommended by a neighbor, I took advantage of the home delivery service. It was excellent! The pizza is large, the dough isn't heavy, and the toppings are good, both in quality and quantity! Definitely worth repeating! Well done!

16/08/2025: The historic establishment is now run by Chinese people. We drank the schekerato coffee there, not bad but nothing special. The counter was rather messy, with dirty glasses, etc. For two: €6.

30/10/2025: The welcome is warm and the place is pleasant. The five for food is well-deserved, especially for the tortelli lucchesi. The rating for the always-punctual service deserves credit to Francesco. Thanks to him, I discovered the limoncello spritz, which is masterfully executed. His coffee is also excellent.

30/08/2025: It's raining. I enter the bar to get out of the rain. I ask for a coffee. A member of the staff behind the counter shouts loudly: "Let's hope it rains harder and harder so all the tourists go home, they're a pain in the ass." They're a genius! Their behavior is unspeakable, rude, and boorish. A complete lack of respect for the customer. I won't be going back.

10/09/2025: Google Maps says "sober hotel with a nightclub" – that phrase doesn't fit at all! It's a "simpler" but clean and welcoming holiday hotel practically right on the seafront (they offer dinner for half/full board or spontaneous restaurant guests, but no nightclub). The dining room is rather austere and cool, but the food is very good! The street is busy, even at night, but it's not very loud – it never bothered us. There were three of us there, including our 15-year-old daughter. The breakfast was good, with options such as fruit, eggs, jams, nut spreads, cakes, and bruschetta. Some items are served after you select them, presumably to reduce food waste from overfilled plates. We loved it! Highly recommended!

08/09/2025: When you go on vacation, you're supposed to rest and enjoy yourself, but unfortunately, we weren't able to do that optimally at this hotel. We encountered several issues that irritated us and even caused us sleepless nights on some nights. First of all, the breakfast was very limited. You can choose from two different types of bread and two types of croissants. They also offer cottage cheese bowls with muesli, fruit, and various sweet dishes (pancakes, cake, and pie). It might just be that we're spoiled, but a nice fried or scrambled egg wasn't available, and toast wasn't an option either. What was good about breakfast was the service. You could order whatever you wanted, and they would put it on your plate. They also asked for your coffee/drink and brought it to the table. Now, on to the hotel room, which had quite a few shortcomings. The bed was very hard, which meant I woke up a few mornings with back pain. The curtain was very translucent, so daylight woke us up as early as 7:00 or 7:30 AM. The room is also very noisy, and you can hear everything in the hallway, including the cleaners who start chatting at 8:00 AM. The bathroom sink was so low that even my wife (165cm tall) had to bend down to wash her hands. The shower head is mounted so that it points at the sliding glass door, a completely illogical layout, and you can't even use the strongest jet because it hits the glass before you do. And worst of all, the air conditioning unit suddenly starts vibrating after a few hours. So loudly that it wakes you up in the middle of the night. This caused us quite a few sleepless nights. We went to reception twice because of this, and the first time they said we couldn't hear anything, and the second time they said a technician had come. However, on our last night before leaving, it happened again, but oh well... complaining was pointless then. Changing rooms wasn't an option either, according to the morning shift receptionist. When we explained our irritations and dissatisfaction with the room, this receptionist showed little sympathy. She looked at us as if she were seeing water burning; I don't think she understood half of the English. All in all, we left three days earlier than planned because it didn't give us a holiday feeling or a peaceful atmosphere, and unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate us. One more point: Yes, they do have a free bike service, but it comes with the feeling of hoping nothing breaks or falls off every time you climb a flight of stairs. The bikes all have some defect and are mainly held together with zip ties. Our compliments to the evening shift receptionist, who listened to all our complaints and was very sorry that we had such a bad experience at the hotel. Unfortunately, she also indicated that the hotel owner probably won't do anything about it. Hence this review to inform others about the current state of the hotel. Not recommended.
