Bar Giglio
Loro ciuffenna
19/09/2025: Aperol €4.50. The lady didn't speak English, but it didn't take much to order a drink. Plenty of seating.
29/08/2025: A very nice and quiet place, you can stop and relax with a coffee and Aperol❤️

Azienda Agricola La Querce
Arezzo
28/12/2025: Company dinner
The food is truly delicious. Cuisine of the past. Highly recommended, and compliments to everyone, especially the chef. Of course, don't expect haute cuisine; you're at home, and you'll feel right at home.
08/11/2025: It tastes so good! Marco and everyone else are so warm and welcoming. Definitely take some home with you. Even in the cold German winter, the delicious pickled vegetables and jams still warm my heart, and I think back with great joy to the time I spent there, with the dogs at my feet, the lovely conversations, and the incredibly delicious food. Grazie 🙏

Osteria Toscana Borgo Antico
Sansepolcro
07/04/2026: Embarrassing.
It's always a shame to have to review a place for its shortcomings rather than its merits, but here, rather than being mere criticisms, it's a total disaster.
From the outside, the place looks quite nice; it seems like a cozy little corner. And that's what got us.
Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the veranda, a pungent smell of urine (dog urine? Let's hope...) filled us, and upon closer inspection, the sense of hygiene immediately fell far short of our minimum expectations (blackened felt bread bin, a glimpse of a less-than-inviting kitchen, a dirty and very makeshift bathroom).
So far, let's say, these are points I could have overlooked; unfortunately, however, since this is an osteria/restaurant, what matters is inevitably the food, and that's where the world falls apart:
- all the truffle-based dishes were unavailable. The (kind) waitress pointed out that there were no truffles available at the moment because they weren't in season, so none of those dishes were available. Too bad it wasn't written anywhere, and people like us, who had sat down to savor truffle-filled dishes, had no choice but to order something else.
- We settled for the ragù. A watered-down ragù with mostly tomato (purée poured from the bottle and reheated, with no added flavors) and occasional "chunks" of meat that had nothing to do with traditional ragù. Mere chunks of bland meat thrown into the purée.
- Both on the ragù and on the pici alla gricia, small "hairs" resembling eyelashes that we hoped were from the pork cheek rind, but even so, they were nauseating.
- ALL the dishes we ordered, from beans to tripe, from polenta to tagliatelle, were topped with the same acidic and bland tomato sauce.
The sauce for the pici alla gricia was also acidic, with roughly chopped pieces of guanciale, inedible in both texture and flavor.
We even considered complaining about the individual dishes, but since they were all inedible, we realized that the culinary experience was now irretrievably irretrievable.
The prices, especially considering the poor quality of the food and the flavors, were too high.
Seeing the numerous negative reviews (which unfortunately we read too late and which coincide with what I observed), it's inexplicable how they completely ignore criticism and advice and persist in running a restaurant business this way. It's clear that it's not the details that are lacking, but the very foundation: you don't know how to cook.
06/04/2026: This is the first time in years I've entered a restaurant without checking the reviews first. I was wrong. A big mistake. Aside from the kind waitress, there's nothing to be saved. The porch where we ate smelled of urine, the table was half broken, and the bread was placed on a felt basket that couldn't be more unsanitary. And then the food! A ragù with lumps of meat the size of clods on a tomato cooked for maybe five minutes. I left it all there. Not to mention the other dishes. It's not even a matter of taste or the quality of the ingredients; it's just that cooking like this shouldn't be done, especially if you own a restaurant.

Dal Fantasista
Arezzo
27/12/2025: Nice atmosphere. Average prices. Desserts aren't the freshest.
27/12/2025: The food wasn't excellent, and given the long wait, my rating is even too high. The service is the only thing I rated slightly higher; the people who brought us our food were very nice, but as I mentioned, the food took a very long time. Outside, there were motorcycles, bicycles, and other items that I assume (since I've always seen them there) belong to the owner.

Gelateria Creme Caramel
Arezzo
23/02/2026: The ice cream is too heavy; you can barely distinguish the different flavors because the creamy flavor overwhelms everything else. Furthermore, the owner is extremely rude and almost seems annoyed by the customers. Not recommended!
03/02/2026: This afternoon I was on my way to the ice cream shop after searching Google to see if it was open, and it was indeed open.
Once I got there, I immediately noticed it was closed. At least have the decency to change the hours on Google if you don't respect them anyway.

Hotel Ristorante Farneta
Cortona
01/05/2026: A truly memorable stay and dining experience at Hotel Ristorante Farneta. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and authentically Italian, with a peaceful setting that makes it easy to relax and unwind.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained, offering everything needed for a restful stay. The staff stands out for their friendliness and attentiveness, always ready to help with a genuine smile and a personal touch that makes guests feel at home.
The restaurant is a real highlight—fresh, well-prepared dishes that showcase local flavors and traditional recipes. Breakfast is generous and satisfying, and dinner feels like a proper taste of regional cuisine done right.
Overall, a place that delivers comfort, quality, and hospitality in a way that easily earns a full 5-star recommendation.
25/03/2026: Don't book this hotel. The people are unhelpful and greedy.I am furious.
I did make a mistake that the booking calendar jumped forward one month so I booked Sunday 15th March when I intended to book Sunday 15th February.
I contacted them as soon as they opened.
But they would not simply change the date of the booking.
I spent hours with my booking agent, who just kept saying that the hotel was sticking to the terms and conditions that my booking could not be changed.

Luna Rossa
Arezzo
08/10/2025: everything excellent, very welcoming owners
09/09/2025: A salami pizza with literally 4 thin slices of salami that is also ugly to look at... I don't understand who taught you how to make pizzas... I remind you that the saying that food should also be eaten with the eyes is not just a figure of speech... there are pizzerias in Arezzo that are definitely better both in terms of service and quality of ingredients.

La Cappelletta
Arezzo
01/04/2026: everything okay good food including pizza and good wine great Silvio 😛
20/02/2026: A unique restaurant for its location, menu, and hospitality.
The location is nestled in the hills surrounding Visone (AL), in a verdant and picturesque setting.
The menu, featuring pizza tours and themed evenings, is always a pleasant surprise, both in terms of appetizers and pizza options, thanks to Orietta's skill.
The hospitality is truly unique: Silvio is a true host, gruff and ironic, but always available to accommodate guests' requests and to offer and share local traditions, specialties, and stories.
A truly unique and highly rewarding experience, especially considering the excellent value for money.

Bar Pasticceria S.Clemente
Arezzo
19/05/2026: The best pastry shop in Arezzo. Is definitely worth visiting!
10/05/2026: Pastry shop just outside the city walls, near Porta San Clemente, at the very beginning of Viale Santa Margherita. Limited street parking is available. A modern establishment, longer than it is wide, at least in terms of its display area. Upon entering, the cash register is on the left (get your receipt first for breakfast), followed by the display counter for cakes, pastries, and savory items. Next comes the bar. A few stools face the counter. To the right of the entrance is a small dining room. About halfway down, opposite the counter, are shelves displaying bottles of wine. Fairly priced for breakfast.

Caffè Fiorenza
San giovanni valdarno
29/04/2026: I was truly disappointed with this café. The prices are simply exorbitant for what they offer: paying so much for a coffee or a simple breakfast is completely unjustified. To make matters worse, the selection is truly limited and unappealing. The counter often seems lacking in choice, with bland, mediocre options.
Considering the high price, one would expect at least a wide selection or fresh, carefully selected products, but here the value for money that should be the cornerstone of any café is completely lacking. There are much better options in the area, both in terms of quality and price. I wouldn't recommend it.
18/02/2026: Open all the time. But no dinner menu. On the main piazza.

Da Rosario
Montemignaio
30/11/2025: To sum up: there were 10 of us at lunch, and almost all our orders were incorrect. We sat down at 1:00 PM, and at 3:30 PM we were still sitting waiting for our main courses. The dishes we ordered: tortelli with meat sauce arrived cold; spaghetti with trout without trout, basically a garlic and olive oil; grilled free-range cockerel arrived almost alive, as did the trout; roast potatoes were "cold"... even the tiramisu was disgusting. Other people we met outside the restaurant complained of having been treated the same way. When we checked the receipt at home, we finally realized we had also paid a liter and a half more for wine. Bad faith or total incompetence?
09/11/2025: Excellent first courses, slightly less so second courses, excessive waiting times, rustic setting and atmosphere conditioned by too many TVs on, very beautiful and tourist-friendly town.

Ristorante Il Cedro Di Tassini M. E C
Poppi
26/04/2026: Unfortunately, I can't give a positive review. The potato tortelli weren't good and clearly not homemade. The tagliatelle were anonymous and the price was definitely too high.
03/02/2026: Restaurant located in Moggiona, IL PAESE DEI BIGONAI, a delightful discovery, which I booked from home because I was looking for exactly that type of restaurant. The atmosphere is informal, like at home, like my grandmother's house, just how I like it, and the atmosphere would be 5 stars too—for my taste, that is.
The Michelin Guide has awarded this restaurant a Bib Gourmand as a trattoria for several years. These are quality restaurants, but more informal than the starred ones, and they stand out for their good value.
A warm welcome, and the dishes are explained with passion.
We had a wonderful time.
Traditional dishes, even off-menu ones,
Like the ACQUACOTTA DI MOGGIONA (different from the Maremmana and without eggs). I highly recommend the homemade tortelli filled with the characteristic local potato.
My husband was thrilled to eat their rabbit in porchetta, just like his mother used to make.
The vegetable dishes are excellent 💚
The town of Moggiona has a very active local tourist board and offers a variety of activities.
Take a day to visit the Bigonaio Shop, the Resistance Museum, and the Wolf Museum.
All within the Casentino Forest Park.
Find all the details on my IG page in the "BIGONAIO" folder, in the "Highlights" section.
