The experience was impeccable in every way: the staff stands out for their professionalism, courtesy, and customer service, contributing to a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant is meticulously maintained, refined, and pleasant, ideal for both casual dinners and special occasions. The true strength, however, remains the cuisine: dishes prepared with fresh, top-quality ingredients, carefully presented, and capable of satisfying even the most discerning palates. Each course demonstrates the passion and expertise that characterize this restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a high-quality dining experience. I will certainly continue to frequent it with great pleasure: never change a winning team.

08/02/2026: We ate at La Curva in Capumulini, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The quality of the food was poor, and the service didn't meet our expectations. The Catalan salad, which came with the appetizers but which no one specifically ordered, consisted mostly of tomato and red onion. It cost €62.30, which doesn't justify the decent quality and quantity of lobster. The mixed fried fish was cold and foul-smelling, while the sardines a beccafico and the battered cod were cold and tasteless. The Venere pasta was overcooked and lacked any flavor of bottarga, the main ingredient in this dish. Given its predominant flavor, I would have expected it to dominate the rest, but this aspect actually faded into the background given how overcooked the pasta was. In the lobster pasta, the flavor of lobster was a vague and distant memory. The caponata was truly inedible, a complete heresy for a Catanese, and the sweet and sour salmon was awful. The sea green linguine was decent, but neither good nor bad. However, there were a few dishes we enjoyed, such as the tonnarello with truffle and the Savarin, which was of the highest quality, so kudos to the pastry shop where they purchased it. Unfortunately, the liqueurs and coffee were not offered, and, while not required, that was our deluded expectation. In conclusion, our experience at La Curva a Capumulini was very disappointing, and we can't recommend this restaurant, or at least we doubt we'll return.

09/03/2026: A disappointment: the appetizer consisted of rubbery seafood salad and a tough swordfish caponata with no sweet and sour sauce, the swordfish meatballs were all soft and tasteless, and the marinara risotto lacked fish stock and garlic, and was completely flavorless. When we complained, the manager replied, "We can do it again, we'll give you a double portion of ravioli." We all asked for an alternative, but they remained firm. The mimosa dessert was also frozen, and they didn't even offer a discount at the register. In fact, they insisted, saying no one had complained about the risotto. Clearly, no one in the dining room was a gourmet. I'm sorry, you screwed up today; you lost eight customers in one fell swoop.

We also appreciated the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, who were quite prompt despite the restaurant being crowded. The dessert was excellent. Definitely recommended, and we'll be back very soon!

14/03/2026: ⚠️A bit of a rip-off⚠️ There's no sign outside, and once you're seated, you discover there's only one set menu, and it costs €25. It's a small, family-run restaurant owned by a friendly couple. The cuisine is very local, using good ingredients. The welcome is friendly, and the portions are generous. The only downside is that they force you to order a €25 set menu per person and don't accept à la carte options. It's not good value for money. Expensive for a set menu served with plastic cups and paper towels instead of napkins. For the same price, you can eat much better in Palermo.

07/03/2026: It was a bit fancier than expected, but not uncomfortable-fancy. The waitress was super nice and the food was extremely delicious. I accidentally ordered pasta with broccoli which I usually don't even like but it was crazy tasty! 💚 Also the pistacchio tiramisu is an absolute must!

08/03/2026: A table for seven with diverse tastes and palates. We began planning the menu the day before with the restaurant staff to ensure everyone would be satisfied. Dinner was a memorable culinary experience, but what struck me most was the attention to service. The wait staff was highly qualified and attentive to every detail.

01/12/2025: We stayed at this property last weekend. I'll start with what I liked. The Shalai is a finely renovated late 19th-century building, elegant and welcoming. The strong points are definitely the restaurant and the kindness of the staff. It also has a spa, which, although small, is still usable and enjoyable. The downside, at least in our experience, was the rooms. We had a superior double room: nice, but not excellent value for money. Although it was reasonably spacious, the bathroom was not up to par with the rest of the property, especially since the shower curtain was dated and unhygienic, unlike even one-star hotels these days. Here's a tip for the property: the property is amazing, the staff is a plus, the spa is delightful, and the restaurant is top-notch, but please, remove those curtains.
