17/05/2026: I stayed there for three weeks straight, and I had a wonderful time. Alessio (the owner) is a young but very capable guy, managing that entire empire (motel, restaurant, bar). Arianna, the co-owner, is a fantastic person, always smiling and helpful. I think without her, everything would be a little more difficult to manage!
The rooms are spotless, the food is so good (and very cheap) that you won't want to leave!
In short, highly recommended!
17/05/2026: Arrived at 10:30 PM. Received very kindly by the old man. Basic hotel, but very clean and a nice room with a good bed. Definitely recommended. Breakfast was also very friendly and extensive.

The breathtaking view of the lake in a lush, peaceful setting, and the friendly service!
Unfortunately, this doesn't make up for the quality of the food served, which was on par with school cafeteria fare, when one would expect local produce. And the room itself was outdated, lacking heating and with very little hot water. All this for a price we found excessive (80 euros per night without meals).

23/07/2026: Lovely restaurant. I was surprised that the salad came without dressing. The food was very expensive and the portions small. But it's very nice and the waiters are very friendly. However, the service was slow. Many dirty, empty tables weren't cleared quickly.

17/07/2026: This is our second time here! The first was last year, but I forgot to write a review! This year, even though we arrived half an hour before closing time, we were greeted with kindness and helpfulness by all the staff! We ate well, and the chef accommodated our request for a small change to the ingredients in the dish of the day! We'll see you next year because I have to try your legendary potatoes, which I chose not to try this time, ordering three identical first courses to make things easier for the chef, since the restaurant was closing half an hour later!
08/07/2026: Great coffee. I like to drink mine Americano style. Here they serve you an espresso, with a pot of hot water - perfect! You can drink it exactly how you like it.
Our waitress had a delightful smile and made us feel very welcome. Sadly, no time for us to sample the menu this visit.

09/08/2026: A fabulous family run restaurant which was the highlight of our holiday! Tucked away from all the tourist restaurants on the front, Scurone offers a unique experience not to be missed. The surroundings are unique, in a restored house over a number of different levels, decorated in an eclectic fashion which helps create a fabulous atmosphere. Run by a husband, wife and son, the service is professional, attentive and very welcoming. We dined here on two separate nights and each course was executed to perfection. One of our favourite restaurants experiences, not just in Cannobio but worldwide and we highly recommend a visit! Thanks Again
07/08/2026: We had higher expectations based on the many positive reviews. The house is truly beautiful and quite unique, but otherwise the atmosphere is rather stuffy, lacking the usual Italian warmth, and the food was good but nothing "wow".

13/08/2026: The best pizza on the promenade in Cannobio, and the appetizers and desserts are also very good. It might be €1-2 more expensive than the restaurants next door, but it's worth it and absolutely justified. Excellent value for money.
13/08/2026: I do not recommend it. Terrible service. As soon as they realized we only wanted a light meal, they asked us to free up the table as soon as possible because they had reservations (even though the restaurant was empty). On top of that, they charge 10 euros for basic table service. Support restaurants that aim to provide a good atmosphere—not this one.

22/07/2026: I can't confirm the sometimes appalling comments. We've been there three times so far (once for takeaway) and each time we received a wonderfully warm welcome and felt very much at home. My limited Italian was completely compensated for by the owners' excellent English, especially by the service staff's fluency in English. All the dishes we've had so far have been very good; the pizza was neither oily nor carelessly prepared. The service was fantastic.
The restaurant is popular with both tourists and locals.
We'll definitely be back one last time before we leave.
21/07/2026: Beautiful view of Lake Maggiore. Food and service were very good. There were three of us, plus our dog.

08/08/2026: A terrible experience, in every way. Probably one of the worst restaurants in Verbania.
The food was truly poor quality: the fritto misto was forgettable and the scialatelli alle vongole was practically inedible. The prices were insane for what was served.
The staff was also rude and unprofessional. Chaos reigned in the dining room, with waiters constantly rushing back and forth, creating confusion and conveying an annoying sense of urgency, almost as if they had to vacate the table as quickly as possible.
When you pay those prices, you expect quality, service, and a modicum of attention. We found none of this here.
A dinner to forget. Terrible food, terrible service, and completely out of line prices.
01/08/2026: A good restaurant right on the lake. Normally you pay extra for the location. However, the prices are absolutely reasonable and the pizzas are very large.

21/09/2025: Clothes don't make the man! We booked a random place for lunch during a motorcycle tour! The trattoria is dated, but well-kept and CLEAN! Tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms is fantastic, and the porchetta that Mr. Vinicio decided to bring as an appetizer, paired with a nice house Barbera, is equally as good. And don't forget the homemade crostata... A family-friendly atmosphere at a fair price! Highly recommended!
19/09/2025: I had lunch at this restaurant in June with my brothers and... what can I say? We had a fantastic time. The lunch was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back. The owners are truly special people.
