05/09/2025: So, I can't agree with the reviews. Yes, the service is sometimes slow, but they try very hard, so it just takes a little longer. I didn't have any problems at the checkout either. The croissants are delicious, the cappuccino is good and made from a portafilter machine. The ambiance could be nicer, but when you walk in and look at the location, you know the bar is on the main street.

It wasn't a matter of letting dozens of kids in without using anything, but only a small group of girls and young women who had a concrete need (and who would have used something). These are situations that can't always be simply "sent back to the mountains." When he left, he turned to me in an already tense tone; I preferred to avoid conflict and immediately said we would leave. Despite this, the confrontation continued elsewhere, with words that, especially in front of the children, seemed disproportionate to the context. Even in his response, the expression "someone braver than you" shifted the issue from the concrete to the personal level. I understand that you have had negative experiences with other groups, and I'm sorry. One of our educators (you can put it in quotation marks if you think it's appropriate) reminded us of a basic principle of justice: it's not right to place the responsibility of others on ourselves, because each group should be welcomed and evaluated on its own merits. For years, we have been accompanying young people to the mountains with respect and responsibility. If any of us apologized, it's because we believe in humility and we instill it in our young people. The refusal, in itself, might have been legitimate; what left us bitter was the manner in which we did it. A "no" can be expressed firmly, but also kindly: especially in front of children, who learn from our actions and words. Reviews exist to honestly share real experiences. Ours is this one, shared not out of controversy, but because we believe that hospitality is not measured by logistical hardship (which we experience daily and know), but rather by the ability to treat each person with dignity. I'll add one more fact: the girls then used the restrooms and had something to drink at the bar. The controversy, therefore, was completely unnecessary. Moreover, the group remained outside the refuge fence the entire time.

03/09/2025: I was sad to leave. The food was excellent and plentiful, and the price was great. The owners were very kind and helpful. Just above Macugnaga (about a half-hour walk), it's an enchanting place overlooking the town with breathtaking views of Monte Rosa. I highly recommend it to everyone.

20/10/2025: We often come here for dinner and are always very satisfied. The spaghetti al cartoccio is a must-try. Their fritto misto is one of our favorites in the area. The location is fabulous in the summer.

14/10/2025: We booked for Sunday lunch for four. The menu was good, with a wide selection of meat and especially fish. The ingredients were high-quality, and the dishes were beautifully presented. The wait time was reasonable. The atmosphere was quiet, with no noise to disturb the conversation, and the tables were well-spaced. The quality/price ratio was excellent. If you're in Stresa, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

26/09/2025: Horrible restaurant! Disastrous service! We waited at least 45 minutes for drinks. One waitress for 30 guests. Then we got up and left.

09/09/2025: The food (as well as the drinks) arrived relatively quickly, and it was also very tasty! (The lasagna had ham in it, which we found a bit difficult to get used to.) The service: Everyone was very friendly, and it wasn't a problem at all that we didn't speak Italian and only had elementary English. 😉 The four of us got a seat on the terrace. It was nice, but with a little more creativity and different tables, they could achieve much more, and it would attract more guests. Likewise, the restroom upstairs is in dire need of renovation.
