17/04/2026: Fantastic stay at Auberge La Ripa! A warm welcome, even though it was late. The room had a view of the lake and the Borromean Islands, which wasn't originally planned. A truly lovely room, and a generous and complete breakfast.

12/04/2026: We stayed with our dog over the Easter weekend at this beautiful hotel, just steps from the center of Baveno. It retains all its early 1900s charm with period furniture.
The tastefully furnished rooms feature balconies overlooking the internal garden and a splendid view of the Borromean Islands. The hotel has a lovely garden with a terrace equipped with tables and umbrellas overlooking the private beach below. What more can I say? It's beautiful. Mrs. Paola is a wonderful hostess, very kind and helpful, and upon our arrival she unexpectedly upgraded our room to a larger one with a lake view. I hope to return soon.

08/02/2026: A traditional restaurant with a bar, restaurant, and accommodations. We booked lunch on a snowy Sunday in early February. The menu features three starters and various main courses, plus an appetizer of local cured meats and cheeses. Free water and good draft wine. Helpful and very friendly staff.
07/02/2026: A step back in time, this place takes you back to the original function and genuinely rustic style of mountain huts. Very quaint. The service and cuisine are those of a mountain hut, and rightly so. If you don't like it, go to the restaurant.

03/05/2026: We always have a good time at Osteria del Mercante, a welcoming place, the food is good, and the staff is friendly, the owner is always willing to tell you how and where he makes his wine, and then the bill is fair, and in line with what you eat, recommended for lunches and dinners, reservations are recommended.
02/05/2026: We called at the last minute on a Saturday evening, and I immediately appreciated the owners' kindness and helpfulness. They went out of their way to accommodate a table for seven, and I must say we had a great time. The food was good, and the waiters were all very courteous and knowledgeable, which is not a given these days. The prices were fair for the quality and authenticity of the dishes. A complimentary house liqueur was offered at the cash register!

I have to give it one star.
The food was a classic three-star meal, but at the end, the restaurant tried to sneak a carbonara onto the bill, which I just noticed.
Unfortunately, the portion wasn't very large, so we didn't get full. They always add €2 per person to the Koperto menu, which I've never experienced before.

19/05/2026: The menu is very different from other restaurants in Stresa. But it was the perfect choice. The service was attentive and quick. The appetizer was delicious. The main course (rabbit) was cooked to perfection and served with mashed potatoes and morels. A top rating is well deserved. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return and recommend it to others.

13/05/2026: Excellent food and service. Very pleasant atmosphere. The cacio e pepe was the best I've ever had, in addition to the insalata di verdura of course.
11/05/2026: Discovering this osteria was a truly unexpected gift: even though it was a lunch break, where the kitchen only serves the daily menu, as curious outsiders, we were kind enough to be served the valley's typical gnocchi (excellent!!!), preceded by a lovely platter of exceptional cured meats and cheeses. To finish, the pane e latte cake.
The service was warm and friendly (as we're culturally unaccustomed to in Genoa 😂😂😂) and very professional. I can only award them the highest score. Thanks again!

A decent lunch without any pretensions; it's a shame there's no polenta.
The inability to choose what to eat (they bring you what's available) is strange, especially considering the intolerances.
The price of the meal is unclear.
The friendliness and cleanliness are top-notch.
