30/06/2025: We went to this restaurant on Monday 25/06, after visiting the splendid garden of Villa Taranto, and we found a sign saying it will reopen on 02/07. Obviously, before taking a walk of over 2 km, we consulted both the restaurant's FB page and its Google profile, but in both cases the restaurant was regularly open. Other people were there and had the same misadventure as us. However, if this is respect for their customers, they would be happy to go eat elsewhere.

25/05/2025: English: We were visiting the botanical garden and we were hungry, I found this little place on Google Maps with very positive ratings and we decided to try it, I think it was one of the best choices ever made. A fixed daily menu, with three options of first course to choose from and 3 options of a second course to choose from, we chose baked pasta and seafood risotto as first courses, as second courses baked chicken and potatoes and ribs with sausage with baked potatoes, I can say excellent quality and also perfect quantity. We also managed to get a dessert that we shared, a very very good blueberry cheesecake. The lady who runs it was very kind and helpful. Very pleasant and quiet atmosphere perfect for a relaxing day. When we return to visit Lake Maggiore we will definitely return to try some other dish of the day. I am truly very satisfied overall. Thank you for this magnificent lunch

30/07/2025: It's best to check in advance whether they're available, depending on weather conditions. Once you reach the top, there are various hiking options. Lunch or an overnight stay at the "Tana" is an excellent option.

11/07/2025: In my opinion, it's expensive. €19 for a 10-minute return journey and to only reach 1200 metres. Disabled people have little discount. I would have paid €16, so I declined.

21/07/2025: A great place to take souvenir photos. I tried new Italian dishes like corn porridge with meat. The place is worth a visit.

20/07/2025: We arrived around 4 pm with a light appetite and the desire for an aperitif. They offered and brought us an excellent mixed platter. Truly delicious cured meats and cheeses. Delicious bread. The staff was exceptionally courteous and friendly. Highly recommended.

24/07/2025: È il ristorante di un hotel e spesso in questi casi non vi si trova bene. Stavolta invece tutto bene, sala ampia e bel panorama, buon cibo abbondante e per finire prezzi superonesti ( con 35 euro mangiate primo secondo e dessert). Davvero consigliato

18/07/2025: An informal but very satisfying lunch! From the à la carte menu, the mushroom bruschetta was fantastic (€8, well spent), as were the rosti with eggs and bacon (€12). The tartare with potato salad from the daily menu was exceptional, definitely worth adding to your list. 😋 The portions and prices were fair (first course, second course, water, wine, and coffee were €25 each).

25/01/2025: Il locale non si è scaldato in tempo ed essendo lontano dal camino (bellissimo e d’atmosfera) abbiamo patito un po’ di freddo. Rapporto qualità prezzo non proprio soddisfacente per la polenta ed il dolce. Non e’possibile pagare con carte e bancomat; onestamente non avevamo visto il cartello alla cassa che resta alle spalle di chi entra nel locale. Questo ha creato un po’ di imbarazzo ma risolto egregiamente dal cuoco. L’esperienza in estate era stata migliore.

18/07/2025: The wine and food recommendation was very detailed and personalized, it was one of the best services I ever had at a restaurant! The atmosphere is very romantic, you will sit under 500 years old trees that are married. Gentlemanly waiters, it feels like a very soulful place. Very good desserts as well as accompanying liquors that were well designed by the waiters!

07/08/2025: Excellent pastry shop located in the town hall square in Staffa Macugnaga. Excellent cakes for a hearty breakfast and a good selection of wines for a nice aperitif. Really friendly staff!

19/07/2025: The hotel is centrally located on the street and easy to reach. It has ample free parking. The room and bathroom are very clean and well-furnished. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.

23/07/2025: Todosola transfer passengers... If you have a lot of time, please don't eat pizza and eat steak here. The cost-effectiveness of the 2-person set menu is crazy. It's a godsend. Four people can eat until they're full for 74 euros. The portion in the photo is for 2 people ^^ We shared one piece of meat and were full. The waiter didn't understand that 4 people ordered for 2. However, he was very kind. If it's not enough, you can order one more pasta or something.

22/04/2025: Pranzo pasquale con i parenti. Siamo stati trattati benissimo, ottimo ambiente e soprattutto menù (carne o pesce, a scelta) decisamente buoni! Rapporto prezzo qualità ottimo; oserei dire: imbattibile. Prima del pranzo abbiamo fatto una richiesta per motivi particolari e siamo stati subito accontentati. Non è da tutti neanche questo particolare…

19/05/2025: Abbiamo prenotato sul posto questo ristorante, La signora che ci ha preso la prenotazione ci ha confermato la disponibilità. Siamo tornati all’ora con lei convenuta e siamo entrati nel ristorante. Dopo 10 minuti la signora, pur avendoci visto, non ci ha degnato di uno sguardo. Quando mi sono rivolta a lei per dirle che avevamo una prenotazione, mi ha risposto “un attimino”. Dopo mezz’ora di attesa, questo “attimino” non era ancora passato e la signora continuava ad ignorarci. Altri due camerieri erano presenti e il loro atteggiamento era lo stesso della signora. Ce ne siamo andati sconfortati e delusi e ovviamente non torneremo mai più. Veramente inqualificabili, per nulla professionali e per niente educati! Consigliamo a chi volesse visitare il Lago delle Fate di pranzare altrove o di portarsi la colazione al sacco!

02/05/2025: Pranzo pessimo, La polenta immangiabile per il retrogusto amaro poiché era stata bruciata, lo spezzatino salatissimo e nel piatto di gnocchi al ragu abbiamo trovato un capello. La loro fortuna è la posizione.. La cosa che fa arrabbiare è che capita di bruciare una polenta ma non essendo una preparazione che richiede molto tempo poteva essere rifatta visto che andava servita anche a dei bambini! Peccato
