07/02/2026: The truth is, it was well located and connected by public transport, but we had the bad luck that the tram line that stopped right next to the hotel was under construction, so we had to walk to the next stop. To make matters worse, we happened to be there during a demonstration, and public transport wasn't running, so we walked to the city center to explore it. The breakfast had a bit of everything and something for everyone.

06/02/2026: The rooms were clean and well-appointed, although the third bed hadn't been made up and we had to wait a good half hour for the maid to arrive. A bothersome smoke smell came from the ventilation ducts and lingered in the bathroom and the room entrance for the entire stay. The staff were friendly and helpful; the breakfast was plentiful and varied. Convenient checkout at 12:00 PM.

04/02/2026: I gave it one star because the place is nice. Second time I've been there after a few years... it's not pleasant to order four chocolates and all four arrive with a finger's breadcrumb of dust on them... really terrible hygiene 👎 I'm attaching a photo and I'd like to point out that at least the chocolate was passable, even if it was very runny 😏

23/11/2025: The restaurant is in the town center. Very thoughtfully designed and original. Aperitif: a glass of good wine accompanied by a varied platter.

12/03/2026: Situated in a very interesting location, we find what, besides being a proper hotel, is also a piece of personal history. The setting is full of meaning, with an attention to detail that is not typical of everyone. The owner knows how to find the perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness. And here I would like to focus: in the bar room, we find a wall where the owner's impressive bartending skills are praised by various newspapers and certificates, a glimpse of a time when things were different. Today, he is no longer a bartender, but it is a pleasure to hear people talk about when he was the "King". So, in addition to the strategic location if you want to visit the two lakes between here and there (Lago Grande and Lago Piccolo), we have an interesting and engaging history. I am happy to say that a little piece of the Caprice will be with me from now on.

03/06/2025: Il Corona per me il miglior ristorante della zona. Sabato abbiamo cenato fuori sulla terrazzetta nella bellissima location. Personale gentilissimo e molto attento ai dettagli. Menù spettacolare: grande scelta di ottimi antipasti, carne squisita, e…..le acciughe fritte fantastiche. Grande scelta dei vini grazie anche alla loro fornitissima cantina con acquisti anche online. Il mio posto del cuore.

24/04/2025: Viaggio di piacere, su consiglio della proprietaria del B&B siamo stati a cena in questo grazioso ristorante. Atmosfera rilassante e cordiale. Piatti gustosi e curati. Servizio ottimo. Cantina dei vini molto fornita e di ottima qualità. Prezzo un po’ più alto della norma.

14/12/2025: A terrible experience in every way. We sat down at 7:20 PM, and despite the place being almost empty, the first order wasn't taken until 7:50 PM. The staff seemed completely unprepared and disorganized, with kids running around without knowing what to do. The sandwich was incredibly expensive and ridiculously large, completely out of proportion to the price. The atmosphere was unbearable: two children screamed nonstop in a playroom with absolutely no soundproofing, making it impossible to even talk. No supervision, no attention to the customers. The waiter seemed only interested in carrying the easel to prop up the plates, while the waiter, instead of managing the service, was only talking loudly, contributing to the general chaos. Absurd prices, disappointing food quality and quantity, and a lack of organization. An overrated, poorly managed place to avoid at all costs. I will never set foot there again.

13/12/2025: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff but 1 star to the chef, unfortunately none of us managed to finish 3 out of 3 dishes, not because of the quantity but because of the quality, no one bothered to understand why.... I won't be back again.

27/10/2025: Had dinner our first evening in Baveno…we were staying at the Hotel Dino for a conference. My daughter and I didn’t have high expectations but were rather prioritizing the convenience! We were pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted and had immediate service. It was quiet as it was early by European dining standards at 7pm but over the course of our dinner filled in. We had an attentive and yummy experience. We ended the evening with their delicious tiramisu…we would return our final evening to have this dessert again!

18/09/2025: We went there today for lunch, but even though Google and the signs around town told us it was open, we found it closed. For the sake of fairness, everything should be updated so customers don't go there for nothing.

12/02/2026: We had to see for ourselves. Perhaps the old saying is true. Perhaps you can't go home again. We are definitely sad 😭. ----- Maybe 12-15 years ago this was one of our usual haunts. About 5 years ago this changed because of changes to work locations. Over the past two months five of us have made various visits due to a new location. We were unfortunately disappointed. 🥹 BAKED GOODS: Obviously all are more expensive. Range is good. About half are a bit smaller than before and/or pricing method had changed. What we really found surprising was that the quantity or complexity of flavor for some products was significantly reduced. Perhaps this is why there are no recent award stickers on the door? 🤔 CHANTILLY CREAM: For one of us, as good as in the past. The rest of us still have to check. 😃 APPLE CAKE: Very good cake but very little apple. Better to call it a crumb cake. ... or perhaps it WAS a crumb cake and some apple accidentally fell in. 🤫 CANAPÉS: Unfortunately the 'salatini' were not the tender flavorful bites we remembered. 😭 They resembled some dry unidentifiable objects you would find in a styrene bag ... In a vending machine ... In an airport ... At the edges of civilization ... Sorry! COFFEE: Normal/chain standard. JUICE: Standard bottled juice. SPRITZ: OK. Not great but acceptable. ACCOMPANIMENTS: Neither pretzels nor peanuts were available/offered for an apéritif in the evening. TEA: Old stale supermarket bags with an extremely limited and eccentric range of choices. Obviously leftovers from a one-time purchase. Of note because on many social media sites this location has chosen to call itself a 'Tea Room' in its listing. This is also a fairly normal evening drink with pastry in the city. SERVICE: Our theory overall is that there is a disconnect between the morning staff and the evening staff however our schedules have not yet permitted checking. Our comments are regarding evening staff. One young man we have met is appropriate and professional ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Others that we have met are presumptuous and aggressive or passive aggressive. We don't consider it correct in a service industry to acerbically tell a customer, 'That's all we have. There's nothing else. If you don't like it, don't get it.' and especially, without OFFERING AN ALTERNATIVE. It's lost revenue. We also don't recommend using what appeared to be the end of a Hollywood style beer slide to deliver very hot drinks. Above all, paying should not be a negative experience for obvious reasons. However in each visit it has been negative. In one case, one of our prospective customers was presumptuously charged for both our manager and our sales person who were both standing next to the register, card in hand. Embarrassing for us!!! During another visit two unrelated groups who had happened to start talking to each other were input into the register together ... they didn't want to make a scene either. Luckily everyone had cash so they sorted it out outside. There are other examples but it seems that the person behind the register in this shop has no need to listen to the customer in front of them. LATE NOTE: One of us went with a new person this past evening. It's not clear what the interchange was that prompted the comment but this Italian only speaker used an Italian word, the English translation of which rhymes with 'witch', to refer to the service staff present that evening. We only mention this to underscore the fact that an experience of the sweetest product can be ruined by bitter service ... and sour people on the idea of returning. Essentially service is why there are only 2 stars rather than 3 or 4.

10/02/2026: On Saturday, February 7th, I called to order two gluten-free croissants to add to the other sweets I was supposed to bring to the office for my birthday. I asked for pickup between 7:00 and 7:15 on Monday, February 9th, and I told them I'd be in a hurry because I was headed out of town for work that day. I showed up promptly, and the two ladies at the counter informed me that the gluten-free croissants wouldn't be available before 8:00 and that there hadn't been any orders. Somewhat surprised, I politely pointed out the note on the diary on the counter right under my eyes. However, seeing the cookies and tarts in the display case, I asked if they were gluten-free. (Note that I wasn't offered a solution; I had to ask.) Having ascertained that they were gluten-free, I opted for a jam tart so as not to leave the only two coworkers with celiac disease without breakfast. Obviously, the price was significantly higher than the croissants we ordered, and despite the lady at the counter's "sorry," they didn't offer any discount given the terrible service. In short: you can make a good product, but if that's the kind of service you get, forget it.

16/12/2025: Overrated. The owners are inattentive to their unfamiliar clientele. The croissants are mediocre. The place is poorly organized. Not recommended.

09/11/2025: It's been a while since I've been able to stop by your place for a great breakfast like you do. I've read about various experiences from disappointed customers, but people are often mean. I know you well, and I know you're kind, humble, and simple people. It's true that you're not your typical bar with drunkards or foul-mouthed waitresses. Quality is often overlooked; you are and always will be one of the best pastry shops in the Canavese area.

26/02/2026: Came for the apres ski party, great vibes, quick bar service, cocktails not great tasting but beer is good! Quite expensive, 10 euros a beer unless you buy in bulk, no toilets only porta loos and they weren't clean

13/03/2026: We went to Tokyo Zen Sushi last Saturday for dinner, a group of six, on an all-you-can-eat basis. The overall food quality was decent: well-presented sushi and average fish for this type of AYCE restaurant. Not particularly memorable, but still adequate for a dinner with friends. The aspect that unfortunately impacted the experience the most was the service. During the evening, there were some order errors, and several dishes took a long time to arrive, while we had to ask for others because they hadn't arrived at the table. We also had some communication difficulties with the waiter, which likely contributed to some of the order confusion. Being a Saturday night, a bit of a wait is understandable, but with more precise order management and service, the experience could significantly improve. Overall, an average AYCE restaurant, with room for improvement, especially in the organization of the service. We'll probably return to see if it was just a particularly busy evening.

01/11/2025: I ordered a kebab from this place via Deliveroo. First of all, I CLEARLY specified removing certain ingredients (which I can't tolerate and absolutely didn't want in the kebab), but despite my request, it arrived with everything inside, as if they hadn't read the order. But the worst came later: after a few hours, I started having severe stomach pain and diarrhea that lasted all night. I don't know if it was due to the poor quality of the ingredients or poor storage, but it's clear something went wrong. Furthermore, the kebab was greasy, heavy, and had a strange smell—nothing like a fresh, carefully prepared product. Honestly, after this experience, I will NEVER order from this place AGAIN and I strongly advise against going there, especially if you value your health.
