23/08/2025: World-class home cooking! This restaurant is distinguished by its excellent cuisine prepared by the mother herself and its very friendly service. The dishes are delicious. The wild boar bacon and the mixed fish platter from the lake are outstanding. There's also a good wine list. The prices are very reasonable; we had a wonderful evening. A gem off the beaten track.

21/08/2025: This restaurant is located in one of the streets of Intra's historic center, near the lake and the pier. The menu offers a wide selection of both first and second courses, featuring meat and lake fish. We tried the daily menu, and my wife the lake fish tasting menu. Both were excellent, well-cooked, and generous portions. The service was very attentive, and the owner was very kind. The price was more than fair for the quality/price ratio.

The atmosphere, refined and enveloping, welcomes you with the same calculated coldness that lies behind a well-designed scheme, but with a surprise: the authentic warmth of a sincere welcome. The service is quick, almost as if every movement had been planned in advance. Attentive waiters, watchful eyes that capture every need without having to call. An efficiency that leaves no room for error. The real star, however, is the roast wild boar. A dish that does not simply nourish, but tells a story. The meat, tender and juicy, melts in the mouth, every fiber imbued with expertly balanced aromas. Spices and herbs selected with surgical care, as if each ingredient had a precise role in the overall plan of flavor. The side dish, often underestimated elsewhere, here becomes an integral part of the experience. Crispy potatoes on the outside and soft on the inside, grilled vegetables that release authentic flavors. Each element is part of a larger design. The wine list offers a careful selection, ideal for enhancing the complexity of the roasted wild boar. 07/08/2025: Family lunch for a birthday. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly and professional staff. The place is very cute and warm. The food was truly excellent: the vitello tonnato was among the best I've ever tasted, and the gnocchi and ravioli were superb. The Sambucano lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. Not to mention the appetizers; my sweet and sour trout wasn't good, but rather more. The desserts were also very good. The price was average, but for the quality of the food, I'd say it was more than fair. Needless to say, I recommend it and will be back!

26/08/2025: Excellent dinner, a bit disappointed by the cake called "la torronata." Otherwise, the fish is truly excellent! The wine cellar is well-stocked, and the sommelier makes the right selection.

24/08/2025: A friend recommended this place. I made a last-minute reservation, and they told me they still had a place, but to hurry; we'd be the first ones there that night. We were warmly welcomed; the place was spacious and well-decorated. After taking our order, they invited us into the cellar to choose our wine. It was like walking into a toy room; you're not sure where to find your way; there were all kinds of wines from all over the world. I really appreciated the fact that each wine had a price tag already printed on it. The fish menu, from raw to cooked, was excellent and wide. Prices were moderate, but obviously, if you get carried away, the final bill could change. Excellent place, highly recommended. Very friendly staff and superb food.

30/08/2025: If you're passing through Casale Monferrato and want to try something tasty and change your mind about vegan cuisine, this is the place to go!!! The Piedmontese appetizer and fantastic fried mushrooms, but also the incredible tagliata! The flavor, the presentation, the colors, and the refined flavors. A pleasant discovery, definitely the best vegan restaurant I've ever been to, and also one of the best overall!

02/09/2025: We used a voucher for one night but ended up staying four. The inn's strength is the friendliness of the owners, two hard workers with a great deal of creativity in organizing. The cuisine is excellent, light, and always varied. Comfortable rooms with a stunning view of the valley. There's a lovely wellness area and play area. We really hope to return. The Maira Valley is a gem.

13/07/2025: We went for a lunch in this nice place in Acqui Terme. Impeccable service, very friendly. Superb food and the wine that was suggested went very well with all the courses. Wonderful experience and when we will be back in the Piemonte, we will most certainly visit this place again.

12/07/2025: We had the pleasure of dining at Il Moncalvo Restaurant, located in the charming loggia of a historic 16th-century building in Acqui Terme. The location is simply enchanting: an elegant and timeless atmosphere that offers an immersive experience, perfectly balanced between history and refinement. We ordered two appetizers and two fish main courses: each dish was a pleasant discovery. The presentation was meticulous, almost artistic, and the flavor combinations were original and unexpected, a sign of careful, creative cuisine that respects the ingredients. The service made the evening even more enjoyable: the manager was friendly and helpful. Special praise also goes to the waitress, who was charming, affable, and attentive, always attentive but never intrusive. In short, Il Moncalvo proved to be a delightful discovery: a restaurant that combines quality cuisine, welcoming service, and a unique architectural setting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a high-end dining experience in Acqui Terme. It feels like we're overlooking the fact that our big dog Byron was also chocolate and very welcome. --
