24/10/2025: We ordered two calamaratas with shrimp and guanciale, probably reheated in the microwave, as the pasta was cold in some places and piping hot in others. There wasn't much fish, but much more guanciale. Ultimately, we ate the dish more out of hunger than anything else. The bill came to €53 for two calamaratas, a glass of white wine, a bottle of water, and a dessert: in my opinion, a bit excessive given the quality of the calamaratas. We didn't have the pizza, which might have been a better choice.

15/06/2025: La qualità e la freschezza del pesce è al top così come le preparazioni. Antipasti abbondanti e vari, molto buono il baccalà ed il salmone affumicato oltre ai fiori di zucca ripieni. Primi piatti abbondanti e ben preparati, paccheri al coccio eccezionali. Il prezzo è assolutamente allineato alle portate, la qualità si paga.

04/06/2025: Siamo stati a pranzo in questo locale bellissimo cibo spettacolare però state attenti non vi fate abbindolare dalle parole del propietario (forse non so se era lui il proprietario) Comunque fatevi portare un menù non vi fate consigliare da lui guardate il menù e ordinate Altrimenti vi ritroverete con conto molto ma molto salato io in 2 persone 97€ 2 antipasti da 20 € 2 primi da 25€

11/10/2025: I celebrated my birthday a few days ago at this restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect, with soft background music and no noise, perfect for a romantic or relaxing evening. The food was excellent, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive to every detail. Thank you for making my evening so enjoyable.

23/09/2025: Disappointing experience - where do we even begin! Asked for still water, got a bottle of fizzy water of the brand “Bolle Stille” (€4). We thought it wasn’t a big deal if the food was ok. Ordered a red prawn carpaccio (€24) as starter, and 2 pastas. Carpaccio was flavourless but smells very fishy (and we’re no stranger to seafood / sashimi / sushi). The 2 pastas (smoked trout €22, vongole €25) were so salty you’d need a kidney dialysis if you finish the whole thing. We kept having bread to cleanse our palate. Pastas were not freshly made. Price is astonishingly disproportionate to the poor quality of food. Finally, I might overlook the fact that the antipasti was served at the same time as the 2 pastas if they didn’t charge €4 each for service.

19/10/2025: We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes without being served, "that's understandable..." up to a certain point. Unfortunately, our last experience was anything but positive. Let me start by saying that we've been loyal customers for many years, and after this experience, I don't think we'll be returning, given what happened. Lunch on Sunday, October 19th for 4 adults. After finishing the appetizer (mussel soup) at 2:00 PM, they literally left us at the table for an hour and a half until the main courses arrived at 3:20 PM! I should point out that after a 45-minute wait, I called a waiter, who said there would be a bit of a wait since the restaurant was almost full and they were preparing several of the main courses at once. After another half hour, I asked another waiter, who assured us that everything would be served within 4 minutes. Another 15 minutes passed, and the main courses arrived, with the waiter's apologies. Human error may have occurred due to the order being lost in the kitchen, but I find it shameful that no one paid attention to us for an hour and a half, and that the owner, at the time of payment, dismissed the situation as if there had been a slight delay, without even offering a token discount to apologize for the incident. She offered us coffee or liqueur, something they always do to all customers. Furthermore, I find it absurd that customers who go to the restaurant for lunch and dinner have to pay €4, even more absurd considering it's October, the low season. I'm sorry, but it seems they're more focused on making money and customers are seen more as numbers.

02/05/2025: Servizio cinque stelle. Piatti tradizionali, gustosi e abbondanti. In pieno centro storico. Una bella passeggiata ad Acireale, può essere completata da un pranzo o una cena in questa trattoria a conduzione familiare.

19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

12/10/2025: A restaurant on the promenade, overlooking the sea, with attentive, friendly, and fast service. Prices are average. The food is good, with generous portions.

12/10/2025: The welcome was rude and unwelcoming. The spaghetti with clams was spaghetti with a liter of oil and 10 clams, completely tasteless. €22 for my pasta with oil!

30/09/2025: Unfortunately, it's closed/permanently out of season even though it says it's open. That's annoying... MO's last review must have been a while ago, because the restaurant was already closed...

12/10/2025: A below-zero rating. The waitress was incompetent; she didn't even take the order correctly. We waited over half an hour for the bill to pay the right price for the food we received. The spaghetti with clams (empty) was full of garlic and tasteless.

12/10/2025: Nothing to write home about, nothing to write home about, shame about the eel risotto only for 2 people, the two-tone maltagliati with eel were a little too delicate

01/11/2025: A couple's lunch on a pleasant autumn day. Highly recommended for: - location, as it's on the lakefront. True, the veranda faces the street, but with the awnings closed, we didn't notice any traffic, and the view of the lake was very pleasant; - celiacs are welcome: almost the entire menu is also available in gluten-free versions, and they know the subject very well; - good food and reasonable prices, with a wide selection of wines; - Monia, who served us, made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back.

24/10/2025: This is an excellent fish restaurant. The whole family enjoyed it. The owners are very nice and welcoming. Highly recommended.
