27/07/2025: It's really difficult to judge the quality of the food, given that we weren't even given a single dish, even though it was 10:45 PM and the tables around us were still being served appetizers and main courses as if nothing had happened. We had asked, extremely politely, for just a plate of pasta for my pregnant wife. Nothing pretentious, just a minimal gesture of courtesy and common sense. Instead, we were met with a curt refusal, seasoned with a total lack of empathy, attention, and professionalism. The service? To say it was nonexistent would be a compliment. Such a welcome would make even the most mediocre company cafeteria pale. If you want to feel unwanted, this is the place. It’s truly hard to judge the quality of the food, as we weren’t even allowed to have a single dish—despite arriving at 10:45 PM while other tables were still being served appetizers and main courses without issue. 27/07/2025: Friendly, courteous, and professional staff. Excellent value. We ordered three cooked appetizers (each consisting of six mini portions), three first courses (the simply sublime Rotonda sul Mare "linguine with Mazzara red shrimp and tuna bottarga"), four desserts, a bottle of Franciacorta, amaro, and coffee on the house... for the price of €72... if you love good food, I highly recommend it...

30/07/2025: A pochi passi dal centro di Caserta potrai trovare Pepenero un ristorante e pizzeria che merita una sosta. Il locale è moderno, ben curato e accogliente. Il personale è gentile e attento alle esigenze dei clienti. Il menù è veramente qualcosa di unico. Pepenero offre un'ampia scelta di antipasti, primi e secondi di mare e di terra realizzati con prodotti freschi e buona qualità. La cucina di Pepenero non è solo tipica casertana ma si potranno trovare dei buonissimi piatti realizzati con le eccellenze del territorio italiano. Pepenero non è solo ristorante ma anche pizzeria. Oltre alla classica pizza napoletana potrai assaggiare le pizze cotte nei "routiello" con degli abbinamenti azzeccati e veramente unici. Ottimi anche i dolci, oltre al babá e alla delizia al limone, consiglio il mandorlato. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.

Here, the fish isn't prepared in the banal way we're often accustomed to, but with the creativity and technique of a true chef: each dish has a unique touch and attention to detail. The owner guided us with great passion in choosing the menu and the "chef of the day," helping to transform the dinner into a true journey of flavors. We paired it all with an exquisite wine and concluded with desserts that alone are worth the visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable, unique experience.

05/08/2025: We asked a random pedestrian on the street where we could get a good meal, and he replied: the restaurant with the little yellow tent. He was right. We had an excellent meal. The homemade tortelli were heavenly, the vegetables were very flavorful, and the fish was superb. However, I would have been even more impressed if the bread on the table was artisanal. Thanks for the delicious food and the lovely conversations!

We also tried the flavorful fish couscous accompanied by a delicious sauce. The restaurant is in the historic center, traditionally decorated, and the staff is helpful and attentive. Highly recommended!

04/09/2025: The swordfish with burrata and pistachio sauce was excellent. However, the couscous was very average. The semolina resembled bulgur, and the fish was dry. No wine recommendations here. We opted for dessert at the pastry shop across the street.
