29/10/2025: Rustic atmosphere, hospitality too. Everything is ok, except for one slightly shameful thing (and it's not the only place where it happens): an ice cream (three scoops of cream and chocolate which costs 2 euros at the ice cream shop) 5 euros. They also sell ice cream in a special ice cream department, I doubt they charge such crazy prices.

21/10/2025: A cool summer evening. Pizza with friends, away from the summer heat. Excellent pizza with well-seasoned toppings and a delicious dessert.

26/10/2025: Expectations were very high, and perhaps that's why they were disappointed. The first course, pioppini mushrooms and oxtail, didn't convince me. I proceeded with the egg yolk with truffle... too bad the truffle wasn't very fragrant and the dish arrived cold. Compliments to the service. Impeccable. I recommend cleaning up the dust buildup on the corrigati in the kitchen... it's not at all hygienic. I won't post the photo out of decency.

19/10/2025: Great restaurant with delicious and high-class cuisine; it’s fairly priced with a 4-courses meat menu @ €52 and fresh fish menu at €57 ; look out for the truffle specials when in season. Great staff too.

30/10/2025: Fantastic meal in a great family restaurant. Duck ragu was a highlight of a trip on which we ate very well. La Toppa is a great reason to visit San Donato in Poggio!

05/11/2025: Don’t hesitate and just book the reservation. Incredible food, service, and atmosphere. Will be thinking about this meal for a long time. Their famous tortellini with smoked cream was good but the suckling pig pork belly is a must order if it’s on the menu.

The staff is kind, smiling, and always available, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. We had various dishes and drinks, and everything was excellent! From the perfectly served coffees to the fresh, homemade desserts, you could taste the quality and attention to detail. Even the savory dishes were delicious, prepared with authentic ingredients and beautifully presented. We also loved the atmosphere: clean, bright, and with background music that accompanies without disturbing. It's the kind of place you can come for a quiet dinner with friends or family. In a world where all places seem the same, this little bar stands out for its authentic atmosphere and the care with which they welcome their customers. 24/10/2025: We happened upon this restaurant on our last evening of our vacation. The best meal of our entire trip. As my boyfriend said to me: And they don't have a star? Perfect from start to finish. The owner gave us freshly pressed olive oil to go with our bread. After we each chose tortellone, he turned out to be a wine sommelier and recommended a glass of wine to pair with each sauce. And last but not least, dessert. The best tiramisu of the vacation and a delicious walnut chocolate cake with ricotta cream. The owners are incredibly attentive and always up for a laugh.

08/10/2025: A hidden gem of a restaurant! Excellent food and a family atmosphere. We had the florentine steak which was excellent (it was priced per kg, and we could specify a size), and the side of roast potatoes were so tender. Definitely recommend!

04/11/2025: I was there two weeks ago in gloomy, foggy weather. I didn't book, but they still sat me down and served me promptly. The staff was kind and attentive. They were hospitable and kind, and recommended wine and dishes. Everything was excellent; the meat was perfect, and the pasta was excellent. I ate very well. The place is very beautiful, tastefully decorated, with lots of features, but not too intrusive. Parking isn't very convenient; there's a small space out front, but you have to make do with the nearby parking spots. I recommend it and will be back.

23/10/2025: We had dinner at Girodibacco (yes, all together) in Barberino del Mugello, discovered almost by accident because we were staying in the hotel right above the restaurant. A very pleasant surprise. We ordered the Cafaggiolese, the house specialty: a boneless steak served with seasonal vegetables. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked very well—perhaps a touch rare, but still delicious and without leaving a crumb on the plate. The flavor was bold, slightly salty, but perfectly balanced with a half liter of house Sangiovese, which went down with great pleasure. We also added a side of baked potatoes, golden and flavorful. The dish was served in a very dramatic manner: the steak arrived in a hot pot, from which the waiter plated the first portion, leaving the rest for us to serve ourselves. A simple but effective gesture. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere informal yet refined, suitable for both an intimate dinner and a convivial gathering with friends. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, with that authentic touch that makes everything more genuine. We spent €38 each (for two, including water and wine) and were more than satisfied. A place I would gladly return to, for the quality of the meat, the kindness of the staff, and the genuine pleasure of the food.
