22/12/2025: Excellent restaurant serving traditional dishes. High-quality ingredients, excellent wines, and an exceptional panoramic location. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. A must-try.

18/12/2025: We were warmly welcomed into a well-kept and spotlessly clean restaurant. The attention to detail in selecting the ingredients and the presentation are exceptional! As a true Maremma native, I know tortelli well, but here they are truly superior! Everything is top-notch, including Laura, who pampers you and makes you feel at home. We'll definitely be back.

10/01/2026: We spent a few days in Pistoia for the Christmas holidays, and on the evening of January 1st, craving a nice Florentine steak, we stumbled upon this typical trattoria. They offer a fixed-price menu, which I recommend, which includes mixed appetizers, a Florentine steak of a weight appropriate for the number of guests, three side dishes, and a dessert. Drinks are not included. The owner, like the staff, is incredibly welcoming. You can tell they really care about explaining the quality and provenance of the meat. Oh! By the way, aside from appetizers and side dishes: THEY ONLY EAT MEAT! It's a real steakhouse; they don't do first courses, they don't do fish... What a steak, folks! Served on piping hot plates so it doesn't get cold, and cut at the table by the owner himself. The only flaw: they served us French meat. Good, tender, but not the most flavorful. I would have preferred local meat. Anyway, I recommend it. It's worth it.

06/01/2026: This traditional Tuscan restaurant is located on Via Sant'Andrea in Pistoia, in a beautiful medieval building restored with exposed brick and stone. Enjoy fabulous grilled meats and traditional dishes with tasty crostini, excellent cured meats, side dishes, and appetizers, accompanied by a wide selection of white and red wines. The owners, with great professionalism and kindness, recommend these wines, turning a simple dinner into a truly exquisite culinary experience. The restaurant is truly beautiful, meticulously maintained, and fantastic for photographs. Excellent in every way! The food, wines, hospitality, and sophistication. Recommended restaurant!

This trattoria is one of those places that makes you feel right at home: a welcoming atmosphere, a family atmosphere, and an attention to detail that's evident as soon as you enter. The staff is incredibly kind, always smiling and attentive, but a special mention goes to the owner: incredibly kind and helpful, capable of welcoming every guest with genuine warmth and making everyone feel truly welcome. The cuisine is simply exceptional, with authentic flavors and generous portions. Each course showcases tradition, but with a pleasantly surprising twist. Everything was perfect, accompanied by excellent wines expertly recommended. It's one of those places you'll want to return to and recommend without hesitation to friends and family. My compliments to the entire staff; we'll definitely be back!

21/02/2026: If you're passing through Manciano, definitely stop at Trattoria Il Rifugio! The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, and you'll immediately feel at home. The risotto is simply amazing, and the pappardelle with wild boar are spectacular, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The cod is delicious. The welcome was top-notch, Ilaria was incredibly kind and attentive. The dessert.....exquisite! A place to definitely return to! 🍷✨

02/03/2026: For 10 years now, whenever we can, we've been coming to dine at this fantastic restaurant, traveling over 100 km, and it's become a ritual. The restaurant is very refined and elegant, the staff is always professional, and I applaud them. The menu is meticulously curated, and you can taste the authenticity of every dish. 01/03/2026: Very few times have I been welcomed into a restaurant with such a warm and friendly atmosphere. My compliments go to the entire staff, who made us feel completely at ease during a wonderful lunch. As for the cuisine, there's no need for words...top-quality ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. Completing the experience is an extensive wine list and a typically Tuscan location with a picture-perfect view. Think that's too glowing a review? Try it and believe it!

25/01/2026: Delicious and very good. There was a problem with one dish, through no fault of their own, but it was handled with elegance. It's a shame some of the diners decided to smoke in a place that's closed in 2026, but this is Italy, and mental health issues are a source of pride.

19/01/2026: Very good, high-quality dishes, beautifully plated and seasonal. I didn't like the fact that the dishes tended to replicate traditional dishes and flavors in a vegan way. Excellent drinks with many organic options. Excellent, welcoming and friendly service. A meat restaurant decorated in a naturalistic vegan style. Unfortunately, the space on the first floor is a bit cramped, accessed by narrow stairs. I didn't like the exposed warehouse. However, if you want to eat vegan in Livorno, I recommend it.

28/02/2026: A beautiful family owned restaurant nestled in the charming village. We had the house red (fantasticc!) and pasta. Pici with tomato sauce, tagliatelle with Tuscan ragu and the pasta with the duck sauce were all incredible. We’ll be coming back again for another meal hopefully many more

07/01/2026: A gem in the historic center of town. When you enter, you feel right at home. The decor perfectly matches the local style. The atmosphere is warm and the staff are extremely friendly. There were four of us for lunch. We shared two Tuscan appetizers, and then each had a main course with a side dish. Everything was simple and delicious. For my main course, I opted for the wild boar stew, which was truly exquisite and, above all, incredibly tender. For wine, I chose a local Chianti Classico. You have to be careful with the wine list, as not all the wines on the list were actually available, and some of those were from different vintages than those listed. However, I still give the service 5 stars because the waiter handled the situation admirably. Excellent value for money. I recommend it and hope to return soon.

15/03/2026: Incredible restaurant, staff were extremely generous and accommodating and gave us an experience well above and beyond what was expected — a standard 3 courses ended up being more like 8 with celebratory desserts prepared for both occasions we were celebrating. Allow 3 hours+ (even for a simple a la carte) so as not to rush.

15/01/2026: We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Borgo San Jacopo for my husband’s birthday back in October. The restaurant itself is both cozy and beautiful and the service was attentive without feeling like someone was hovering over you all evening. We were given the option of ordering a la carte or a choice of 3 tasting menus with the caveat that if you choose a tasting menu the whole table must choose the same one. We went with a tasting menu and really loved the number of courses that it allowed us to sample. Favorite dishes were the ricotta snack, risotto with meatballs, the lamb loin and the salted caramel peanut bonbon at the end. The mushroom ice cream that was served with the crudités was very interesting and we also loved the house made olive oil. They really made my husband’s birthday feel special and it was one of our best meals in Italy.

01/03/2026: The dining room—and what can I say? I discovered it a few years ago and fell in love with it. Special Tuscan dishes and refined cuisine, perfectly executed down to the last detail, and the waiter's explanation of the ingredients' provenance was delightful. In my opinion, their signature dish is the fillet steak with Brunello di Montalcino, simply delicious. The only downside is the cleanliness; there's dust on the shelves that triggered allergic rhinitis. I highly recommend paying more attention to cleanliness to truly enjoy the best.

12/02/2026: A very quaint, traditional Tuscan restaurant with delicious dishes. The gnudi are simply delicious, with fresh spinach and a fabulous sauce. We'll definitely be back to try other delicacies.

28/02/2026: A fabulous experience worth repeating. We happened upon it by chance. We were welcomed with affection and extreme kindness by three ladies (one was the cook, Mary). We ordered 1 penne alla boscaiola, 1 tortello alla Mary, and 2 pork loins (soft as butter) accompanied by roast potatoes and beans all'uccelletto. To finish, a sampling of homemade cakes (chestnut and rum, pear, cinnamon and clove, orange, carrot). A half-liter bottle of house wine. LARGE PORTIONS. EVERYTHING FABULOUS. THE TOTAL COST WAS 77 euros. We will definitely be back. PS: The three ladies also run an adjoining B&B, Borgo Antica Pieve.

03/03/2026: I give 5 stars for everything. Let me start by saying that I'm absolutely thrilled by the places that have shaped and continue to shape our culinary history. Homemade food with authentic flavors, friendly, welcoming service, as if you were eating at my uncle's in Pisa. The atmosphere is small and intimate, where you can chat even with the next table. It was a real pleasure eating, and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Stelio himself, 91 years old! Top! After eating and drinking, I recommend the house tiramisu and the Ponce! Excellent digestif!

27/02/2026: Exclusive experience: the last Pisan trattoria in over 60 years, with the same owner. Excellent cuisine at affordable prices. Not to be missed.
