14/03/2026: Not recommended! A rather dull "gran tagliere" (large cutting board) with a black olive pâté crostini that both smelled and tasted like vomit. We politely pointed out that we weren't finishing it because it had a strange odor, but they insisted that no one else had pointed this out. They even brought us another identical one, which, of course, was the same (we didn't eat it). This was followed by a completely tasteless tagliata (a sliced ​​steak). The cutlery was dirty, as was the restaurant. The price was decidedly high for the service.

21/02/2026: We stumbled upon this place by chance. The people were very welcoming, the rooms were immaculately kept, clean, and very warm. We'll definitely be back. It's a shame we didn't try their cuisine, which, given everything else, would have been excellent.
17/01/2026: There can only be wonderful words for this place, which is truly perfect in every way. I stayed and dined here two consecutive nights, sampling various dishes. The rooms are clean, cool, and quiet. The restaurant is truly delicious; you can view the menu directly on the website. I've included a few photos to give you an idea. The staff is very professional and courteous; I would return not once, but a thousand times. Thank you to all the staff!

But anyone who thinks Il Giglio is "merely" a historical landmark or a splendid terrace overlooking the Val d'Orcia is mistaken. In the heart of Montalcino, this place reveals itself to be a restaurant serving traditional cuisine and a wine cellar that truly immerses you in the heart of Brunello. It's by browsing the wine list that you understand Il Giglio's true stature. It's not just a list, it's a historical archive. The cellar boasts an impressive verticality, from current vintages to collectors' items that have shaped the history of Brunello, offering a panorama that very few other establishments can match.

19/02/2026: We stumbled upon this small restaurant while passing by, craving Florentine steak, and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered steak, La Ribollita (Florence stew), Burrata cheese with a vegetable salad, and a 1/4 liter of wine. Served with bread, the portions were generous, just right for three people, and cost €67 in total. Each dish had its highlights. The steak was delicious, incredibly flavorful, with perfectly cooked fat, juicy and tender. The Burrata cheese was wonderfully fragrant, with a pure, creamy aroma, and the addition of crunchy almond slices and balsamic vinegar made it incredibly appetizing. The stew was also excellent, a dish we'd never seen before, but with a distinctly Florentine flavor. It had a homey, delicious taste, the vegetables were tender and cooked perfectly with the bread. The 1/4 liter of wine was only €3, a small bottle just right for our family, and it tasted great. After our meal, the restaurant even gave us some homemade chocolate liqueur to try. The flavor was unique, unlike anything we'd ever tasted before—like liquid chocolate liqueur. It's worth mentioning that the service was excellent. Although there weren't many foreign tourists in the restaurant, the young lady who took our order spoke English. When we asked to try a smaller steak, she explained the recommended doneness and weight, and thoughtfully showed us our selection before cooking to confirm (I was initially worried that such a weight-based cut of meat would be too much). When we mentioned we couldn't understand the Italian menu and wanted recommendations for non-pork dishes, she provided detailed introductions to several signature dishes. Throughout the meal, she frequently came to check on our experience. Our whole family enjoyed the meal immensely. The dining environment was also very pleasant, with a warm atmosphere and clean restrooms. I highly recommend it to anyone passing by! It was definitely a wonderful dining experience.

02/10/2025: I found this restaurant by chance on a business trip, traveling between Portoferraio and Portoazzurro. I had a delicious seafood dinner, beautifully served in a welcoming and clean atmosphere. The service was excellent and the price was reasonable.
30/09/2025: We had a reservation, and when we arrived, there weren't enough chairs or table settings. The staff weren't very attentive or chatty the entire time (drinks were left out without comment), and the overall impression wasn't particularly inviting. The food, however, was very good; the chef was excellent.

Beautiful, large, welcoming, elegant, with plenty of indoor (upstairs and downstairs) and outdoor (air-conditioned covered patio) spaces, and that "bikers welcome" that says it all about the hospitality that extends to my world. Excellent menu with a varied selection of typical and traditional dishes. Excellent cuisine, tasty and plentiful. It's special to taste the first courses directly from the pan where they were sautéed, avoiding the plating and focusing more on the essentials than the frills. As is the soapstone under the grilled meat to keep it warm. Excellent solutions!! The highlight was the desserts prepared directly by the owner: truly delicious!! Let's just say that for what we paid, three of us ate well and were satisfied. Recommended!!

The ambiance is the result of great attention to period design: the furnishings, from the seating to the charming vintage shop signs, offer a perfect immersion in the atmosphere of the 1960s and 1970s. From a culinary standpoint, the experience is excellent. I savored fantastic meat, cooked strictly rare according to the strict dictates of Tuscan tradition, a rule that is strictly adhered to here. To top it all off, a very good wine list. A must-see in Arezzo.
