26/03/2025: Trattoria - a family restaurant…. And we were treated like long lost family, with open arms, generous smiles, and wonderful cooking. We shared wine together, ate like kings (the steak was incredible), and finished with amaro and limoncello.

09/03/2025: Lunch spent with friends, I had never been before, the view over the entire plain of Lucca was beautiful. Very good and plentiful food, very good homemade pasta, you can feel that it is fresh as soon as you put it in your mouth, delicious tortelli, fettuccine with buckwheat and truffle, (real truffle) not the sauces, very good pappardelle with wild boar (for wild boar ask if they have it because you can't find it on the menu) The grilled meat was excellent and the dessert was the apple puff pastry with super vanilla ice cream! Very good prices and excellent red house wine. If you want to go, call well in advance because it is difficult to find a place as it is very small inside, while in the summer I think it also has outdoor tables.

16/04/2025: My girlfriend and I came here and were really impressed with the experience, the wine was delicious and the sausage truffle pasta was incredible, I was shocked at how reasonable the bill was! We were offered a complimentary limoncello as well which was lovely. I’d highly recommend this restraint to anyone visiting Pisa and would certainly come again :)

15/03/2025: We love coming here whenever we are around Benabbio. It'a small, family run restaurant with good regional food with some international staples. The sparkling white wine and gnocchi in a sweet cherry tomato sauce with a sprinkle of ricotta are something I still dream of and order repeatedly. This is not a fancy restaurant, rather a homey, straight forward place. The prices are affordable. The wait time is usually short. Unless it's a holiday or a day with a special menu (check their Facebook for upates), then I recommend booking a table in advance. The owners are wonderful people - very helpful and attentive. Giovanni's pizzas are one of a kind, with a crispy thin crust and you can watch him bake them in the oven. We especially recommend getting one with mascarpone as it balances all the textures beautifully. You can always ask Alessandra to help you pick a dish or if they have any specials, and you won't be dissapointed. There are also seasonal dishes based on fresh seafood or mushrooms depending on the time of year. Another must-try are their desserts and pasta fritta with cheese and prosciutto as an appetizer!

24/03/2025: Small deli in the market - a canteen for quite a few local workers, so it has a very local feel. Simple cuisine - a few pasta choices - the two we tried were very good. So not haute cuisine, but efficient and local - in short, a place to keep for a simple lunch ~ average prices.

26/01/2025: Optimal We went for lunch and had an excellent meal. Friendly and attentive staff, small but particular and welcoming place. Average cost in relation to the quality of the food (excellent). We had two first espressos (of which 1 was fish), water and coffee, costing €36 HI

14/04/2025: After three restaurants with no availability for a free table on a Friday night; in via S. Frediano we found a semi-empty restaurant and we entered without checking the menu posted outside (currently occupied by a couple of tourists); the decor was "minimalist" and with the tables without tablecloths and cutlery, it gave us "the idea of ​​a trattoria" and with the very kind welcome, we sat down anyway. After a welcome tasting with polenta and toppings to enrich the flavor; the menus were divided into 3 variants; fish, or meat or vegetarian with a fixed cost of € 50 and for both (two diners) it had to be the same. Undecided due to our different tastes, we opted for the 4th menu "à la carte" (more choice) but with prices decidedly above average (a lot) and we decided, as per our preference, for a starter and a second course; Grilled artichokes for both of us and "beef on carbon" for me and "pigeon 360°" for her; from the meticulous presentation of the dishes, we had confirmation that it was not a "simple Osteria" but a high-level "Gourmet Restaurant" (I would say from the portions and the culinary display, "almost starred"). The "360° pigeon with pumpkin and chocolate" was served in four different courses and with particular flavors that left you speechless; exceptional tagliatelle with pigeon sauce and macaron with pigeon paté and chocolate. When the "pigeon in salmì" arrived, I was served the "beef with carbon", covered with a thin slice of Cinta Senese rump; extraordinary softness and flavor of the meat, accompanied by a potato puff pastry with a salad of wild herbs. Very elaborate dishes (very) and with a taste never tasted before and unfortunately, for me, of "insufficient quantity" to feel completely satisfied. The introduction of the dessert, of the "almond and thallus ice cream" was meticulous and instructive (as for the previous dishes to enhance the seasonally available raw materials); I have never heard a mâitre discuss in great detail the provenance of the products for a dessert and I perceived a real passion for this presentation. A new culinary experience that we appreciated and to end in style, seeing the "most expensive coffee in the world" on the menu, I said to myself why not?!; I had seen "kopi luwak" coffee years ago on a TV documentary and curiosity pushed me to taste it [for those who do not know it; to obtain Civet coffee, the beans are ingested and evacuated by the Luwak (Indonesian name for this small animal). It is a small civet that lives in the Indonesian forests, whose gastric enzymes are able to give the coffee an incomparable, chocolatey aroma and an unparalleled body]. Well!, unfortunately my palate was not able to perceive such an aroma but it is an experiment that I could not miss; like tasting a glass of Sassicaia in Bolgheri and not feeling a difference with a red wine from Montalcino that I prefer regardless, compared to the first. Despite the expensive cost of the dinner, we had a great time and I certainly recommend this restaurant for lovers of true culinary art, after all quality has its price ...

17/01/2025: Do not confuse this restaurant with Osteria dei Cavalieri, located 30 meters away and across the street. La Sosta dei Cavalieri serves good Italian cuisine with a certain dose of originality. The menu is small (no green or mixed salad, for example); it evolved from what we had seen on the Web. Main dishes of pasta or risotto are between 15 and 20 Euros, meat and fish dishes between 30 and 40 Euros. The desserts are well presented but modest in size. The service is friendly but a little slow.

17/03/2025: Allora sono venuto in coppia con il mio cavallo Minnesota. Purtroppo all'ingresso mi è stato detto che il povero Minnesota non poteva entrare. Così, preso da un impeto furioso (ma sempre educato e contenuto), mi sono dovuto recare altrove dove non hanno pregiudizi e non giudicano la composizione delle compagnie. Tengo a sottolineare che avete rifiutato il ristoro ad un vero campione che 40 anni fa fece anche vincere grosse somme di denaro ad un noto concittadino e cliente famoso. Cordiali saluti. D.Adani
