04/01/2026: For that price food was just ok, the salmon was lying on a bed of raw vegetables very salty and definitely too much vinegar/lemon it covers the delicacy of the boiled (as mall piece of) salmon. Prawns were good but the artichokes soup was tasteless as the pumpkin dessert: small, overly sweet and tasteless. All in all quite disappointing. Service was standard: at a certain point the waiter/manager of the place was carrying empty plates and dropped a piece of vegetable (cherry tomato) on our table and he doesn’t even say a thing, just took it and left. Quite rude.

11/11/2025: I'm reviewing the restaurant. Upon arrival, we saw a queue, which was a good omen. We were quickly seated for our four adults and a child. We had to wait a while for our pizza and calzone, but considering the restaurant was fully booked and the table turnover was high, it wasn't surprising. It was worth the wait; both the pizza and calzone were excellent, one of the best calzones I've ever tasted. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu and ice cream for my son; he loved it, and the waitress even gave him a cup with Buggs Bunny on it, which he was delighted with. The tiramisu was also first-rate.

08/10/2025: Typical Italian restaurant, diverse offerings, everything delicious, including the desserts, generous portions, prices perfectly reasonable, reservation recommended as it only opens at 7 p.m. Visited twice during a week in Sardinia.

30/09/2025: We had pizza and pasta—unfortunately, the pasta was very bland, and the pizza was okay. The Vino de la Casa was not recommended. We wouldn't come back again.

30/10/2025: After some time, we returned to this restaurant for lunch. Once again, we were satisfied with the quality of the food. The only "flaw" was the lack of choice for a vegetarian in our group. Otherwise, it was perfect.

06/01/2026: What can I say, it's not worth spending €42 to eat farmed fish that wasn't good at all, not to mention the sorbet, which tasted like lemon juice or dish soap, the coffee was burnt and the cuttlefish were hard and rubbery, inedible.

18/11/2025: Il Caminetto is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Cabras. The atmosphere is welcoming and refined, with attentive and always smiling service that makes you feel truly welcome. The dishes are a tribute to Sardinian tradition, prepared with the freshest ingredients and expertly presented. The fish is extraordinary: authentic flavors, perfectly cooked, and generous portions. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in presenting each dish and the chef's ability to enhance the flavors without ever weighing you down. The quality-price ratio is also excellent. I highly recommend Il Caminetto to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable gastronomic experience in Cabras. I will definitely be back!

10/11/2025: We chose it because it has eels on the menu and were satisfied. There were eight of us and we were greeted kindly and cheerfully. Everything was delicious, well-cooked, and plentiful. We ordered something extra, and in fact, we had two mixed fried fish and calamari left over, which we asked to take away. Smiling and joking, the waiter echoed our joke: "Nothing goes to waste," and added that they used to have people to whom they gave the leftovers of customers who knocked in the morning asking for them, but now the customers ask for them too... This bitter joke doesn't detract from the quality of the restaurant: excellent table linens, cleanliness, and everything was excellent. Above all, another waiter, not the same one, thanked us for our cheerfulness. Thanks to you too for everything

15/12/2025: We spent our honeymoon here and couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place! The staff was incredibly lovely and genuinely accommodating. Our room was immaculate—beautifully maintained, comfortable, and a joy to come back to each day. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Cannot say enough wonderful things. We will always cherish our time here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing stay in Sardinia.

11/11/2025: Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and a great location. The best part is that. I booked a room with a garden view and found myself in a room overlooking the ditch wall, small and damp (no. 115). There was no way to raise the temperature to get rid of the damp. We slept with damp sheets, and in the morning our clothes were damp. The bathroom was small and without a bidet (hotel regulations require a full bathroom in 4-star hotels). In its place, a technological toilet that only guests with poor hygiene standards would consider using. The furnishings were Swiss chalet-like, a bit worn, and the cleanliness was sub-par. We had a terrible stay and spent a lot of money on a room worthy of a much lower-class hotel. And after completing the online questionnaire, not even an apology from management. Four stars undeserved.

08/12/2025: We spontaneously decided to eat there in October. We hadn't made a reservation, but since it was already the off-season, they still had a table for us. The owner is very friendly. The service was generally good too. I think because our Italian wasn't very good, they kept their conversation to a minimum. I imagine staff are more communicative when they realize you speak the language. But overall, there's nothing to complain about. The food was absolutely delicious. We'd gladly come back if we're ever in the area again.

05/10/2025: Delicious meal, everything we tried was good. Especially enjoyed the bottarga pasta and mix grill fish. We also tried the Sardinian cheese with honey, tiramisu, and caramelizad pears for dessert and all were amazing.

17/10/2025: Everything was perfect. We had the opportunity to enjoy dinner featuring traditional Sardinian cuisine and breakfast.

15/10/2025: Our first meal since arriving on Sardinia but exceeded expectations. Beef, pasta and dessert were all amazing. Affrogato over white truffle ice cream was incredible.

26/10/2025: Lovely place and great pizza! Child friendly, good choice and good prices. The serving staff were very friendly. The restaurant is closed during low season which runs from November until some time in March so worth checking if you are visiting over the colder months.

06/01/2026: We booked for five people at the suggestion of an acquaintance. The place and staff were welcoming, except for a few ill-considered comments from the waiter, such as when I asked if we could start with appetizers to share. He replied, in an annoyed tone, that the kitchen was closing (it was 1:30 PM) so we had to hurry and choose everything right away. We ordered two mixed appetizers, which were decent quality but, given the price, low in quantity. Next, we ordered four first courses: two seafood fregola pasta and two tagliolini with clams and bottarga. The fregola was good and rich in sauce, while the tagliolini were dry. It definitely needs improvement. The dessert, chocolate mousse with coconut cream, was good. Overall, a satisfactory experience. For the price paid, I rate the overall service as average-low.

13/01/2026: We had lunch with some colleagues. We needed a quick lunch, but the service was slow. I had to specifically ask for oil to season the grilled vegetables, which were served carelessly on a small plate. Furthermore, for two packages of shrimp and artichokes, one 800-gram grilled sea bream, a small plate of grilled vegetables, one bottle of still water, and three coffees, we paid €121.50. Definitely too much for what we ate and the service.
