03/08/2026: We had a perfect evening at Volpe e l'Uva in Sassari. The pizzas are truly delicious and unique, with thoughtful pairings and top-quality ingredients. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel at ease right away. We dined with friends and everything was truly enjoyable, from the atmosphere to the service. We'll definitely be back!

07/07/2026: We found this place by randomly searching online and were pleasantly surprised. The view is spectacular. We had the seafood fregula, which was spectacular and a generous portion. Then we shared a grilled fish dish, which was also excellent. Prices are reasonable if you're looking for quality food. I highly recommend it. PS: We walked up from the village. The climb is a bit tiring, but the view makes it worthwhile.

26/07/2026: Like every year, it's in a class of its own: service, food, atmosphere, all top-notch. The fish you eat here is unheard of in Sardinia. Top of the line.

26/09/2025: Very friendly owners, great food, and amazing pizza (thin, crispy, fresh, with a special pizzaiolo!). I spent a week in the apartment there and it was very quiet, beautiful, and delicious. I highly recommend it. The restaurant has very good prices and everything is fresh, with homemade martini/pizzaioli and vegetables from local growers. I'll definitely be back! The homemade croissants are excellent, as are the homemade croissants for breakfast (reservations are required ;-)) It's best to make a reservation well in advance for dinner; the terrace is nice and spacious but can fill up quickly!

19/05/2026: The welcome and customer service were excellent. The quality of the ingredients used was excellent, and the chef showcased them with professionalism and attention to detail. Among the appetizers, the raw red shrimp was simply SPECTACULAR. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Alghero. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.... Next time, to try the meat-based dishes.

16/05/2026: Tucked away in a narrow alley in Alghero's historic center, it offers ample seating both inside and out. You'll be pleased with the food, location, and service. I recommend it to anyone visiting the town. They're the same owners as the gourmet restaurant MOS, also in Alghero, and another in Sassari.

24/07/2026: A truly fantastic experience! We visited the Mirador Historic Osteria in Alghero and were completely satisfied. The welcome was warm and we immediately felt at home, with a wonderful view of the sunset over the bastions. The paella was simply exceptional: fresh, high-quality ingredients, and perfectly cooked. The gin and tonic was also truly wonderful, prepared with great care. The service was impeccable: the staff were kind, professional, and always attentive, even caring for our children, who were pampered throughout the evening. Excellent food, a pleasant atmosphere, and truly superb staff. If you're passing through Alghero, I absolutely recommend this restaurant. Kudos to the entire team; we'll definitely be back!

24/07/2026: It's a very popular place. Being so close to the sea in Alghero in July, that's understandable. The staff is friendly and helpful. One waiter in particular was really nice to us. The food was good, but the portions were small. Prices were fair, perhaps a little high.

26/07/2026: The pizzas were very good, but you know what was outstanding? The tiramisu and lemon sorbet. It was proper homemade stuff, absolutely perfect. The staff was wonderful, too! We would come back any time!

24/07/2026: Highly recommended. Excellent service, lovely place, especially the terrace. The mixed fried fish, culurgioni, anemone, calamari, and spaghetti al cartoccio were exceptional. Very satisfied ☺️. The white wine and house desserts were very good. Reasonable prices.

Each time, I've been met with kindness, helpfulness, and friendliness from the staff who welcomed us and served us throughout the evening. They were attentive to every detail despite the summer chaos. We were particularly impressed by the friendliness, kindness, and professionalism of Vanessa, the woman who served us throughout the evening. The food was quality! I highly recommend it and will definitely return! Everyone, including the chefs, was brilliant.

24/07/2026: Every time I come to Italy I feel welcomed, except here. Low quality service, despite that they are servicing other people perfectly, shrimps not fresh.. never felt discriminated against ever in this country except at this restaurant. If you’re not white, trust me, they will never give you the time of the day.. miserable quality of service…

08/07/2026: Cool restaurant, smart menu with an endless list of pizzas. Unlike competitors, they always offer freshly baked focaccia and additional special dishes, like these squid ink linguine with crunchy saffron courgette bites (bit overcooked in my case). Food quality is above average but could be better, good service.

07/07/2026: Very nice restaurant. We had a wonderful meal. Excellent pizza, and the Cannonau beef tagliata with baked potatoes was really good, cooked to perfection. Excellent service, the waiter was kind and really knowledgeable. Thank you, we had a wonderful time.

26/07/2026: A positive experience. The food is good, with tasty dishes prepared with quality ingredients. The place is pleasant, and the service is attentive. The only area that could be improved is the wait staff: the waiters, while very courteous, come to the table a bit too frequently, sometimes seeming a bit intrusive. Overall, a good experience, and I would definitely recommend it.

05/07/2026: Essenza Bistrot. A restaurant that has perfected itself. From the outside, you could easily drive right past it. An unassuming facade, a house number – nothing more. Then the door opens, and everything changes. The space is meticulously designed. Every accessory has its place, every object its function. A world map on the wall, wine crates as shelves, wood and stone in perfect balance. This isn't by chance. This is "control as a passion." You can tell the owner has a "penchant for perfection." She goes from table to table, checking everything, not detachedly, but with a look that says: This isn't just something I take for granted. This means something to me. A rare sight. The "greeting from the kitchen" is already a statement. Pizza Pala, long fermentation, tomatoes, mozzarella, anchovies, capers. Homemade bread that tastes like poetry. Spaghetti with lobster. Stuffed pastries. Calamari fritti. Everything is of the highest quality, everything tastes magical. The service is pleasant and friendly. Almost too deferential. You can tell: These people want exactly what the owner wants – for everything to be perfect. It's not just warmth. It's dedication to an ideal. Truly wonderful. Then there's a man sitting at the next table. Alone. And he's eating. Calmly, attentively. He uses his phone frequently, but not frantically, not addictively. Simply present with his food and simultaneously connected to the world around him. And I wonder: Would I do this if I were single? A restaurant of this caliber, alone, to be with myself – without it having to feel lonely? The answer: "Yes. Right now." That's the moment I understand what Essenza truly is. Not necessarily a restaurant for two or for many. A restaurant for you. For your relationship with quality, with taste, with yourself. The owner understands this. She's created a place that forces you to be alone with yourself – whether you're sitting alone or with someone else. Whether that's control or wisdom remains to be seen. But "it works" 😉
