20/07/2026: A delightful gastronomic experience!!!! Local products, seasonal dishes, everything delicious and exquisite. The dishes are meticulously crafted and prepared with care. Individual, small portions that you can order in variety and share with friends. The service is friendly and super cordial. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting.

15/07/2026: Good experience. The venue, obviously football-themed, is beautiful. The service is knowledgeable and helpful. There's a welcome sparkling wine, an entree, and a mini dessert "offered." Everything is good, but for my personal taste, the price isn't worth what I ate, so I ordered a tartare and a tractor. Also, it was quite hot at our table, even though the air conditioning was on low (it probably didn't work in that area). The prices are high, I'd say. Worth a try.

14/07/2026: Our family of 8 (with four kids) arrived in Montespertoli exhausted and starving after flying 12 hours. We went in search of food and stumbled upon this restaurant. The woman (I can’t remember her name!) was so incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We didn’t have reservations and it was early- she still made room for us. Food was incredible, prices were very reasonable and service was absolutely amazing. She spoke very little english and I speak very little Italian, but we made it work! She offered the kids a simple pesto pasta which they loved. We ordered several dishes and they all were top notch. Our favorite restaurant so far in Italy!

25/07/2026: Made a reservation for a Sunday night, and had an incredible time. The outside seating is tiered, with sectioned private tables nestled in beautiful greenery. Since it was so hot during our stay in Sorrento, we opted to sit inside. We were guided down a flight of stairs, which led to an elegant dining area that was once the 16th century wine cellar for a former monastery. There is also another flight of stairs that lead up to more seating, and the wine cellar. Once seated, we were handed the wine menu, which listed countless choices. Admitting we were in over our heads, a Sommelier, Geppino, was sent to our table. He was wonderful! Warm, friendly, helpful and extremely passionate about his role. He suggested a 2020 Chianti we thoroughly enjoyed, and which paired well with everything we ate. We were so taken with his hospitality and energy, that we took two bottles of wine home with us! My husband ordered the Raviolo for his first course, and the Beef for his second. I chose to hand my selections over to the chef, ordering the "In Our Hands" portion of the Scent of the Land. Everything that came out, was beyond fabulous. Even my husband, who is not a foodie, gave high praise. There was artistry in every presentation. Proteins were melt in your mouth tender and enveloped in savory sauces and tender pasta. Natural fats were beautifully balanced with subtle bits of acidity that left your palette satisfied yet craving for more. You could taste culinary expertise in every bite, with each plate being perfectly portioned. With each serving, it was obvious how much care the kitchen put into each dish. Service was on point, with staff constantly circling the restaurant, watching to see if anything was needed. They were friendly and engaging, and made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Il Buco served up some of the best food we have ever had. True craftmanship from beginning to end.

08/06/2026: The pizzas, one Norwegian and one Italian, were delicious: soft, thin crust, and a delicious topping. For dessert, we chose a babbà covered in lemon cream and red berries, and it was truly delicious!

11/07/2026: The place is charming and elegantly decorated in a cave beneath the Terra neighborhood, brimming with atmosphere. They welcomed me, my five-year-old daughter, and my partner, making us feel completely at ease. They brought us a lightly alcoholic aperitif and an appetizer of fried bread with a sauce that reminded me of the flavor my grandmother used to make. When I asked for vegan options, they prepared a plate of paccheri with zucchini and a sensational bean burger, freshly prepared by the chef, along with a delicious porcini mushroom sauce. It's not easy to find such options in the area; vegans tend to hold back on serving real "paccheri" :) My partner had the cod with escarole and the small spaghetti with tomato sauce. Even this simple dish was particularly flavorful thanks to the quality of the ancient grain pasta. They make excellent bread and it's served hot. The wine was high quality and reasonably priced. We'll be back.

06/06/2026: We absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere is perfect and every plate was served with care and thoughtfulness. Each course had a different plate type! My husband had then coursed meal with meat and I did the fish- and it was hard to decide which had the better option!! What’s more, the chef and his wife are amazing people and their hospitality was above and beyond Can’t wait to return

17/07/2026: We were a group of more than 10 people, and they seated us outside the restaurant, on a nearby sloping street, which meant that both the tables and chairs were uneven. The street, just a few meters from the restaurant, even crossed a pedestrian crossing, which was rather unhygienic when carrying the food to the table. The pizza, while tasty, was rather small compared to many other restaurants, and it was also more expensive. Additionally, when we went to order dessert, they only had a couple of options available (one of them with only one serving), and even then, there weren't enough desserts per person for everyone in our group.

04/07/2026: For me, it's the best restaurant in town, offering excellent, expertly prepared ingredients. Fast service, smiling, and welcoming staff, and a unique location.

27/06/2026: We enjoyed this restaurant for the food and wine selection. We had three pasta dishes and they were all excellent. We also had a bottle of Caiarossa 2012 very reasonably priced and excellent. The air conditioning was helpful!

14/06/2026: Quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, very good food. We had a really good mixed seafood aperitif 😊 and shared a fish fry, also very well prepared, dry and tasty, with local white wine. We will definitely be back. Reservations are recommended.

I'll be back even though it's not cheap. 2019 Update: The pizza was very dry, it looked like it had a frozen base: you'd need a saw to cut it, and it arrived in 10 minutes🤐 even when the place was full... As a restaurant, it works, so forget about the pizza. 2026 Update: I went back for pizza. Excellent! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good first and second courses, and the pizza too! The outdoor courtyard is perfect on summer evenings.
