08/03/2026: It's a shame to write this, but it's true. We went there as a last resort, as it was the one and only place in Alba that had a table for two available on a Sunday evening... and given how the evening went, it was a blessing in disguise! A top food and wine experience! The wine cellar is exceptional, the ingredients are spectacular, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and competent. Thank you for giving us the last table.

07/03/2026: My partner and I went there on Friday evening. What can I say? Everything was excellent. From the location to the food to the service. A dream wine list. 100 pages of tablets with an incredible selection of local wines. I was especially struck by the great honesty in the wine prices; I was amazed by the wide variety at truly fair prices. Everything else was also honest, and the service was very kind and attentive, truly pleasant. What can I say... highly recommended.

30/10/2025: I was able to use the catering service at La Lanterna restaurant, all managed by Mrs. Regina, who had proposed herself as a highly prestigious wedding planner. The couple had their rehearsal dinner, which went very well, everything had been decided, or at least we thought so. We arrive at the location where the event was supposed to take place, and find the aperitif in full sun, bowls with melted ice, a few appetizers and a few non-alcoholic appetizers, appetizers served on small plates standing up, some a lot, some nothing, we enter the room, where I must say it was incredibly hot, 33 degrees, we sit at the table, we are served water with an eyedropper by rude and listless waiters, I must say that there was no maître d' to manage everything, it is time for the first courses, very good, but one guest does not like it and asks a waiter for a plate of pasta with oil, he is rudely refused, alleging that the chef refuses to serve this dish at the table, we get to the fish that was supposed to be a sea bream, we were presented with a strange fish, after much insistence, we received the answer it was turbot, all this without informing anyone, I would like to point out that Sea bream and turbot are two different types of fish, so if someone was allergic, it could have been a serious problem. There was a staff member who had to entertain children and adults, and their food was very limited and very late. After lunch, a corner was set up for the liqueurs I had purchased, high-quality liqueurs, placed in the sun, therefore very hot. After insisting, they brought ice, but the chocolate brought for tasting was all melted. When it was time for dessert, the dessert buffet was brought out, also in the sun, and they all melted. Luckily, the cake went well, even though it wasn't given to the staff. Furthermore, coffee and sparkling wine weren't served, clarifying that this hadn't been agreed upon with the bride and groom. Do you think this is possible? Even if it wasn't agreed upon, it's obvious! So my advice: don't hire catering, venues, and other nonsense; for a certain amount of money, hire a nice, classy restaurant and you'll certainly enjoy yourself more.

11/01/2026: I stop by almost every Sunday for a coffee. A coffee worthy of the name: truly good! I'm always greeted with kindness and a smile. I sit on a stool at a counter that overlooks Piazza Yenne from the window. It's always a beautiful moment.

06/01/2026: the place is at a high level from the food to the employees. because it is not the season and most places are closed we found this place in the center where the waiter greeted us with great respect and we got a seat at the best table. the food is especially tasty from the appetizer to the main course as well as the Prosecco! excellent I highly recommend it to everyone! the waiters are top 1! I will gladly return.

Located in a quiet area, away from the tourist hustle and bustle, just steps from the Lungarno and Corso Italia, it offers a welcoming atmosphere and excellent food. The cuisine is delicious, featuring traditional Italian dishes prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. The decor is elegant and distinctive, with a touch of old-world charm that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The wine list is excellent, with an interesting selection of local wines. The true heart of the restaurant is Mr. Carlo, a unique presence at San Paolo. A great chatterbox, he's always ready to share his incredible story, which saw him transition from pastry making to cooking, creating a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. His warm welcome and attention to detail make him a true ambassador for the restaurant. With great charm and passion, he manages to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making every customer feel at home, recommending the daily specials and selecting the finest wines. His energy and zest for life are contagious, and made our dinner at San Paolo an unforgettable experience. We ordered: Pappardelle with duck ragù; Paccheri with scorpionfish ragù; Sea bass and red mullet millefeuille; Fresh tuna steak with rosemary on sweet and sour onions; Cheesecake; Apple charlotte, wine, and coffee. We spent €96, which was definitely worth it for the quality of the food and service. We will definitely be back.

The location is splendid: refined, welcoming, and perfect for those seeking a warm, family atmosphere. Our guests felt pampered from start to finish, and many complimented us on our choice. The service and catering were impeccable. Delicious dishes, meticulous presentation, and constant attention without ever being intrusive. Every moment was enhanced by a setting that conveys history and style. Villa Campari was more than just the setting for our wedding: it became part of the most precious memories we will carry with us. We recommend it to anyone seeking an elegant, intimate event, managed by people who truly put their heart and soul into their work.

12/01/2026: Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the restaurant's reputation... We ordered the fish tasting menu, but besides the fact that it wasn't a multi-course tasting menu—it was just an appetizer, a first course, and a second course—the first course, "Mixed pasta and potatoes, slightly spicy, creamed with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and clams," was a real disappointment! It had no flavor whatsoever! It was completely bland, no Parmesan, nothing spicy, and most importantly, no clams; there were only two of them! The rest of the dish, the salmon tartare and the mackerel, were passable, but nothing exceptional. Logically, given the nature of the restaurant, we weren't charged for the first courses, which speaks in their favor (we didn't eat them, after all), but I would have preferred to pay and eat... The location is very charming and moderately elegant, the staff competent and helpful. The prices are moderately high. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend it, but having not tried other dishes, I can't give an overall positive review either.

16/03/2026: The "Ritrovo degli ostinati" is objectively a charming and well-kept place. Sincere praise goes to the wait staff: extremely friendly, smiling, and welcoming. Unfortunately, kindness is priceless, and the dining experience was a complete disaster, made worse by an absolutely unjustifiable final bill. We started with two five-course appetizers for the modest sum of €15 each. Except for the eggplant roulade and the pulled pork puff pastry, which were considered "acceptable," the rest was beyond comment. We were served a very hard, bitter-tasting cheese ball that was literally impossible to swallow; a microscopic sample of fava beans and chicory; and a beetroot soufflé completely ruined by the stracciatella cheese placed on top, which leaked water and watered down the entire dish. The situation with the first courses was even worse. The "Pacchero degli Ostinati" (€12) was presented as nine half-paccheri, counted and completely unrelated to the sauce: a swill of stracciatella water, chopped pistachios, and chunks of mortadella (that tasted like a discount store) thrown on top haphazardly. Not to mention the "Special Plate" (€14): braised meat ravioli floating in another swill, the nature of which was unclear, dusted with an unknown green powder. The final blow came at the cash register: €70 total for two appetizers, two first courses, two waters, and one glass of rosé. A completely disproportionate amount given the meager portions, the low-quality ingredients, and the total lack of technique in the dishes. I'm giving it two stars solely to acknowledge the excellent work of the staff in the dining room and the ambiance. The kitchen needs a complete overhaul. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We acknowledge your response, even though we find the tone a bit excessive. We want to clarify that not stirring up a controversy at the table was a gesture of discretion, not of deceit: we preferred not to ruin the atmosphere of the restaurant, reserving the right time to reflect on the situation with a cool head. Regarding the mortadella, our opinion referred exclusively to the perceived flavor on the palate, which we found disappointing, not up to expectations, regardless of the brand used. Paying €35 per person for the combination of dishes described remains, in our experience, an unsatisfactory quality-price ratio. It's unfortunate that honest feedback was perceived as a personal attack rather than the opinion of customers who, despite their young age, have the right to evaluate what they eat. Kind regards.

For the prices, we expected the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the dishes to be of a much higher standard. Unfortunately, we ate poorly and infrequently (seven ravioli on a plate in one first course, while in the other "Pacchero dell'ostinato" nine paccheri that were supposed to be with stracciatella, mortadella, and pistachio but were watery and soupy). The bill was disproportionate to the amount served. A real shame, given that the atmosphere and hospitality are lovely.
