11/10/2025: It was so tangy and impregnated with oil right down to its DNA that I got up in the night and drank a diger seltzer to digest a "fried" fish dish that, more than fried, seemed boiled in oil of which the owner who "fries" to please the customer is a mystery as to what type or chemical compound he uses (certainly not peanut oil).

06/12/2025: I often ordered here through various delivery services, but after one time ingredients were missing from a pizza, another time there was the mozzarella sticking out and needing to be removed, and then, magically in the same evening, after 2 hours of waiting, they claimed to have given up on nen twice, to 2 different delivery drivers (the second time, after I had called the restaurant directly, they even cancelled the order directly over the phone, claiming it wasn't them (which was confirmed to me by the delivery support) and after the cancellation another delivery driver showed up, to whom they gave 3 more pizzas, and, magically, this one too, according to them, had stolen the order). I would say simply embarrassing! If they ever lost the order, it can happen, but taking the piss out of a customer by inventing that 2 different delivery drivers had stolen the pizzas, no way... terrible.

05/11/2025: An ideal stop for lunch when you're riding a motorbike. Locals come here for food, so they cook well there, right? 😋👌👍 Excellent food, beer, coffee and coffee treats. Selection of cheeses and cold cuts. I recommend it to anyone who's hungry when driving around. 👏🇮🇹😉

26/10/2025: In May, my wife and I spent a few wonderful days in Alghero, and we visited the "Ristorante di Pesce Il Pavone" twice – and for good reason: The family-run restaurant is just a few minutes from the city center, easily accessible either on foot from the harbor or directly by car with parking on site. Upon entry, we were warmly welcomed by the owner himself and given equally competent advice. What was particularly nice was that he later returned to each table to personally check on each guest's well-being – this hospitality and warm socializing are truly exceptional. His daughter also works in the business, which further underlines the authentic, family-like atmosphere. Their passion for what they do is palpable and permeates the entire experience. The service was always friendly, attentive, and courteous – we never had to wait long. The restaurant impresses with its cozy, clean, and tidy ambiance. The menu is clear and offers a high-quality selection without seeming overly opulent. We particularly enjoyed the grandmother's traditional dish, which has always been on the menu – a beautiful piece of culinary family history! The wine list is wonderfully matched to the fish dishes. We were delighted with every single dish: fresh antipasti, homemade pasta, market-fresh fish, and sophisticated desserts – all a true taste experience and definitely not frozen. Whether inside or outside – there is plenty of comfortable seating, perfect for couples and smaller groups. Reservations are recommended, especially in the evenings. The prices are high, but absolutely reasonable given the quality; the value for money is excellent. For us, "Il Pavone" was one of the highlights of our stay – a wonderful memory that we will certainly look back on fondly. Highly recommended – we will definitely be back!

10/12/2025: Martina Franca is a beautiful city. You can easily stop for lunch under the porticoes. The place is welcoming, the staff friendly, and the food reflects our traditions. A shout out to the owner who welcomed us in the square, and to our Calabrian friends with whom we shared an excellent rosemary digestive. See you soon 😉👍

29/11/2025: Invited by friends who live in the area, we were able to experience the absolute quality of the seafood served in a modern, welcoming, and meticulously curated setting with a display case showcasing the catch of the day. We started with a seafood fan consisting of several dishes: raw fish carpaccio, warm seafood salad, grilled octopus on chickpea puree, shrimp in pink sauce, stewed baby octopus, stuffed squid, and gratinated scallops. Next we tried the lobster linguine and the fish and vegetable tempura, all accompanied by a nice Ligurian Vermentino. To finish, we enjoyed excellent homemade desserts and a glass of Passito di Pantelleria. The service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. The bill? We don't know why it was offered, but it's certainly in line with the best seafood restaurants—that is, medium-high. It's a shame we live far away, but we'll gladly return.

22/10/2025: Michelin star restaurant so has a high bar and it did not disappoint. Extensive wine list, impeccable service, and steller dishes. Amuse bouche to start, great bread basket, appetizers were on point and main dishes were very flavorful and surprisingly not overly petite. Small dessert tray and lemoncello shots to end the night. They have several different dining options and we were recommended the patio which is BEAUTIFUL. However, we were seated at the end of the patio and did not know it is also a public walkway. We had people walking past us looking at us and our food throughout the night which was a little awkward and tiring. If you sit outside, make sure to not get seated on the end by the corner.

He said, “Tell me what you feel like eating ; even if it’s not on the menu, I’ll make it for you.” It wasn’t just dinner; it was pure emotion. I felt like a child again; sitting in my grandfather’s kitchen; surrounded by love, comfort, and the scent of something wonderful being made just for me. Each plate was a masterpiece; crafted with passion, precision, and soul. Every flavor told a story, every bite carried warmth. The waiter’s kindness completed the experience; it felt like family, gathered around the table after years apart. Il Buco isn’t just a restaurant; it’s home, heart, and passion served on a plate, a place where food becomes art, and emotion becomes flavor.
