21/08/2025: Long wait from ordering to the dishes arriving. The raw fish dish was very disappointing; the oyster and scampi were flavorless, and the scampi were not peeled. €35 for a very meager dish. Good pizza. Courteous staff. The hand dryer in the bathroom doesn't work, and there was no paper towel. High final bill. Awful asking for a tip at the cashier while paying. **Update after 3 days** They invited me to respond on Facebook to find out what went wrong. I left a polite and constructive response. They decided, being clearly mistaken on many fronts, to first delete my comment, then block me to prevent the review I left on social media from being seen. They only leave positive ones to attract those who haven't been there before. I hope this review on Google will help future customers make a wise choice about where to go. ***REPLY TO THE CAPTAIN*** Good morning, I'm not being mean in any way. I expressed a polite, respectful, and constructive opinion on Facebook after visiting your restaurant. You're incapable of accepting a less-than-positive review, but that's your problem, not mine. I definitely wasn't just talking about the price; I specifically said that the quality wasn't bad, while the presentation of the food was, unfortunately, poorly done. I also spoke well of the dining room staff, for they were kind, unlike you, who writes insults and puts words in my mouth that I've never said, since I haven't called anyone a scammer or a thief. You're talking about pockets, mine in this case... but I'll tell you, without offense, that I chose your restaurant to take my child to a less formal place, therefore a bit "lowbrow," as they say. She shot herself in the foot by thinking she was being clever by deleting a comment—I repeat, polite and constructive—without offending anyone, as she did. 25/08/2025: A very charming and quaint place. The food is good and authentic, as you'd expect from an Osteria with a capital O. Extensive wine selection. All the staff are very friendly, professional, and welcoming. We were served primarily by Marta, who, with her warmth and friendliness, made everything excellent. We'll be back.

It would be even nicer if all the tables were set out in the garden, surrounded by greenery, with softer, more diffused lighting instead of the current "stadium lights" 😂😂. With that added touch of charm, the atmosphere would be truly perfect. All in all, a lovely evening.

25/08/2025: For us, it remains our favorite place. A large counter with a wide selection of very fresh meat that you can choose on the spot and it's cooked right away. The interior is spacious and bright, while the outside is a bit cramped, but pleasant. Excellent service and very friendly, helpful staff.

21/08/2025: The meat is amazing and at a great price! From this perspective, La Locanda del Macellaio is highly recommended. However, I must point out two major problems (which could be largely resolved with the owners' goodwill). Hygiene. The raw meat (which customers select at the counter before being assigned a table) is handled with bare hands by a person who alternates serving at the counter with every other activity. He touches people, objects, chairs, his own clothes, his own nose, and finally the meat. A whole different level of hygiene is required, and it wouldn't take much. Second problem: ventilation. The interior is not ventilated at all, and evidently the grill hood doesn't extract air properly. The result: the room was slightly foggy and had a constant smell of smoke. I reiterate the positive aspects for which, overall, I would recommend La Locanda: quality and price!

02/09/2025: I'm staying in the area and chose this place based on reviews. I made a reservation, and it's best to do so. It's just off the main square of this beautiful village. The location is very quaint, both inside and out. The welcome is friendly, but a bit touristy. The traditional Tuscan dishes are well-executed, with modest portions. The traditional onion soup, which isn't on the menu, is very good. If you're passing through Casale, it's definitely an option worth considering.

29/08/2025: We booked a dinner at an outside table. As soon as we arrived, the owner greeted us kindly and explained the various dishes to us so we could make a better choice. We ordered an appetizer and some first courses; they were good. Then, between the first and second courses, we waited over half an hour without anyone saying anything. The restaurant must have been at 50% capacity... The second course (a tagliata) arrived, good but not very tasty in my opinion. After finishing the second course, again no response... we were thinking about dessert, but since no one showed up, we asked for the bill and left. In summary, good food, medium-high prices. Another thing; the €2.50 cover charge for a simple paper placemat seems excessive given the setting of the restaurant. Another thing; we paid by card but only received a "pre-bill."

26/07/2025: The fish is fresh, and the takeout dishes are simple but truly well-cooked. You can also eat in, though the space is a bit limited. The octopus with potatoes and all the fried fish are excellent. Unfortunately, the prices are high. The staff is courteous and friendly.

26/06/2025: I was there for two nights. I was in the area for work.. we ate very well.. punctual and attentive service. The place is located in a small and very characteristic village. Both restaurant and pizzeria excellent. To try if you are in the area.
