03/09/2025: I went to this café for breakfast: soft, flavorful brioche and a delicious cappuccino. The owner's courtesy is noteworthy. Pleasant background music is also playing. Central location, near the Broletto. Recommended!

08/07/2025: Historic place for aperitifs in Pavia. Perhaps the first bar opened in the square - it was the first half of the 80s, or at least I remember it from then.

13/09/2025: Due to a new profile, I have to rewrite the review: I ate at this trattoria with my family. The appetizer was plentiful and good, and the first, second, and dessert were always plentiful and very good. The price was fair. The only downside was the wait time was quite long. Otherwise, I recommend stopping by. The owners and waiters were all friendly and helpful. I approve.

02/11/2025: Takeout pizzeria in Siziano. Very good pizza, even with whole wheat pasta. Fast service at a good price. Dino is very friendly. Hours are a bit limited: 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM. 2025-11-02 Dino maintains his standards: delicious pizzas at a good price.

30/11/2025: Recommended! Excellent and plentiful dishes. Super-fast service. Informal atmosphere. Set menu €15 on Saturday lunchtime: first course (choice of 3), second course (choice of 3), side dish (fries and salad), water, wine, and coffee (all included). Choice of 3 first courses + 3 second courses. Reservations recommended.

29/11/2025: The only sushi place in the area; the closest is 17 km away. The quality is very high, better than many sushi places that have become too commercial. Fresh ingredients, well-prepared dishes, friendly and helpful waiters, and always available staff. Parking is available in the back or along the street.

22/11/2025: A pleasant surprise for an impromptu dinner. Excellent service, quality food, and very reasonable prices for an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant: €24.90 for the evening, plus extras at truly excellent prices, including desserts for €4 and wine by the glass. I highly recommend it and will be back.

23/11/2025: Congratulations on everything, from the food (Livorno-style mussels, mixed fried fish, and seafood scialatielli pasta—superb!) to the service, to the location! Perhaps I would have expected a more generous first course, but that's just my personal preference, which I admit is a bit trucker-like 😅 Next time I'll get the Nando's menu, which was highly recommended. Highly recommended restaurant!!!

08/09/2025: Count Enrico Malaspina, with a jovial air, welcomes us to the noble family mansion in Varzi for a guided tour. The day is splendid, as is the state of preservation of this building, which since Barbarossa (13th century) must have seen so much, including marching armies. It is located at a strategic crossroads between Lombardy, Piedmont, and Emilia. Today it is used for events, but its discreet and, frankly, most fascinating soul lies within, where portraits of austere ancestors gaze at you, curious to see people dressed in plebeian style. A particular highlight is the original antique furniture and books: time has stood still here. An impressive heritage that would make even more renowned manors envious. Worth visiting and enjoying. The Count is there waiting for us with that patience and disenchantment that evokes a bygone era.

28/08/2025: Makes a lovely day out driving through the beautiful countryside with stunning views of the valleys to arrive at this historical castle for a tour followed by a local wine and canapés tasting comprising of cheese, melons, torta and the very famous Varzi salami. If you’re in luck, you’ll get shown around by the future Count himself, Enrico Odetti, who is passionate about the historical importance of the castle and intent on preserving the legacy.

14/11/2025: We dined here for the first time, and the experience was positive. We had a pizza with prosciutto and arugula, and fried calamari with house white wine. Everything was excellent: the pizza was well-cooked, just the right thickness (not too thick, not too thin), and the fried calamari was delicious. The batter was well-cooked and golden brown, with no aftertaste of used oil. We'll be back because it's worth trying other items on the menu.

14/10/2025: The food is excellent, but it's a shame it employs waiters who don't know what they're doing. I wrote down the job their mothers did, but Google keeps censoring the phrase. I won't set foot in there again.

07/10/2025: Lunch with colleagues. Very beautiful and elegant location. Good food and good wine. The only flaw is the passageway from the dining room to the kitchen. If I had sat at one of the two-person tables in the corridor, I would have risked elbowing and colliding with the waiters rushing back and forth. They had to give way to one another with full and empty plates, drinks, coffee, desserts... I wouldn't have eaten peacefully. Every passage was a risk of accidents. Recommended for the food, though.

09/12/2025: We went to this restaurant based on the reviews, and I have to say the experience was even better! I had the kidney skewers and pork snout, which were absolutely amazing. My partner had the salami and bigoli with ragù, which were also spectacular. Excellent value! Four courses, two desserts, and a bottle of wine for €25, cost us €86 in total. We'll definitely be back! Congratulations!

08/12/2025: Excellent!!!! This is my assessment of this small but well-maintained restaurant in the center of Casteggio. The restaurant is well-maintained and quiet, thanks to the owner's preference for seating no more than six people. It's perhaps a little chilly given the room's temperature. Massimiliano personally prepares delicious, original, and flavorful dishes, beautifully balanced, showcasing the flavors of the Oltrepó region. Try the suckling pig in tuna sauce, the kidney with red onions, and the shocking pink rice with beetroot and mustard drops. Furthermore, Massimiliano shares his knowledge with his customers, and does so with kindness and courtesy, free from any pretensions. You can tell he truly loves his job. A true discovery, worth trying again and again. Excellent. The table settings could be improved: given the cotton napkins, perhaps a real tablecloth would be better than paper placemats. The price is reasonable for the quality of the ingredients, all locally sourced. In conclusion, a restaurant to return to again and again.
