04/05/2025: Restaurant at the top of the climb on Via Crocetta where today at lunch we were pampered like never before. We are in the Oltrepò Pavese in the midst of green hills and vineyards. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the owner, a distinguished and kind gentleman who loves his job and is always ready to joke. In the restaurant everything is homemade, from bread to desserts. The dishes are tasty, well presented and you can feel that they are cooked and offered with love. I didn't take photos of the dishes because I was anxious to taste them. We ate divinely, also recommended by the owner, and I really hope to return. Thank you ❤️

02/05/2025: We were attracted by this apparently old-fashioned place, but very elegant, well-kept and perfectly reflects the name. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Dinner based on first course, second course and dessert, all very delicate and of excellent quality. Cellar of very good local wines. Very recommended!

25/05/2025: I had been there for dinner quite some time ago, I went this evening with a group of friends and we had dinner at the first table at the entrance, I found a beautiful environment, good food and service up to the prerogatives of the place. I would like to pay a compliment to the mother and daughter who run the place. In the end we also met the chef. I recommend it, go and try the cuisine of this place. We will definitely return.

18/05/2025: Excellent experience here in May 2025. Friendly staff, extensive menu, extensive wine list (the reasonably priced buttafuoco is excellent) They very obviously care about their food, service and the customer experience. Once of the best Italian restaurants I've been to and one of the best restaurants in Italy I've been to. Go and enjoy it!

There are 3 tasting menus on offer, also accompanied by matching wines, one of the menus is entirely vegetarian, but if you wish you can order à la carte, drawing the dishes from all three proposals. Advised.

20/04/2025: Ottima esperienza vissuta nel giorno di Pasqua con un menù all'altezza dello Chef Alessandro. Dopo una serie di piatti ben calibrati ed equilibrati ,sia nei gusti che nella presentazione, è stato servito il Dessert... Una cosa spettacolare...!!! Una rivisitazione completa di un Uovo Sodo ..ma in versione Dolce. Da privare se vorrete passare una giornata nelle colline dell' Oltrepo unendo il paesaggio, al gusto e con ottimi vini. Da ripetere sicuramente.

12/05/2025: The latest gastronomy investigation took Watson and myself to Cassolnovo: I must admit that until that moment, this town had always been just a transit location to reach Vigevano; instead I discovered a place still anchored to the traditions of the past that lives on agriculture. The town is not small at all, so much so that the Spezza tavern, our destination, is located in a hamlet, separated from Cassolnovo by the state road. After booking (mandatory, but above all necessary given the small number of places) we went as usual to the opening which, to find freshly baked bread at the table, must not be before eight in the evening. Here, in a single room where there is also a cold cuts counter, you are welcomed by the owner, whose wife is usually behind the stove. Extreme simplicity, extreme courtesy, extreme availability: these are the characteristics of the restaurant and the property. On the walls a good choice of Piedmontese and Lombardy wines with absolutely competitive prices. The menu, declared verbally by the owner and shown on a blackboard, is based on the availability of products of the day. Watson and I order a small platter for two (it's not small at all and the cured meats and cheeses are first choice) as an appetizer, two risottos with Castelmagno and hazelnuts and some veal rump with potatoes. The preparation is homemade, not by a starred chef, but everything is genuine and the 20 seats available mean that you immediately become part of a large family made up of a few customers with the two owners acting as hosts. With a bottle of 2023 Cascina Fiorenza Langhe Nebbiolo, a coffee and a dessert, we spend only €30 each!

11/05/2025: I took a seafood appetizer (good), risotto with prawns and rocket (good), wine, water and coffee, spent 35 euros. Good restaurant with prices in line, very clean, friendly staff. I'll be back.

11/05/2025: Sono stato in questo ristorante più volte a mangiare sia a pranzo che a cena sia in settimana che la domenica sia carne che pesce, ogni volta tutto cucinata alla perfezione fresco e ben preparato, servito con gentilezza e professionalità. Se sei in zona consigliatissimo.
