12/08/2025: My partner and I stopped by during our day exploring the lake and were pleasantly surprised. The waitresses were great, the prices were very reasonable, and we had a view of the lake. I also forgot my e-cigarette, and when we returned four hours later, the staff had set it aside for me with a smile. I highly recommend it!

03/08/2025: Nice setting, but the refuge itself is just not up to par. Poor food quality, excessive prices, no POS, disorganization, and much more. Not recommended, the worst refuge I've ever been to.

05/08/2025: I got the Raffinato. It was incredibly well-balanced toast. Very good value for money. A friend had the Caprese. It wasn't bad, but not nearly as good value for money as mine.

24/05/2025: Dopo una menu degustazione in due (7 portate e vino)… pe un totale tra i 700e 800€.. il cameriere chiede : concludiamo con un caffè? E poi possiamo proporre un amaro? Finito il caffè chiedo un bicchiere d’acqua.. alla fine mi ritrovo 50 dico 50€ in più.. caffè 5 euro e un bicchier d’acqua ( no bottiglia) altri 5… Ma Come si fa dopo che ti lascio 800€ a chiedermi 5€ per un bicchiere d’acqua e 5€ per un caffè? Ridicolo .. stellati.. mah

10/05/2025: L'importanza di un compleanno da festeggiare ha condotto la nostra "brigata della stella" in questo tempio dell'alta cucina situato nella splendida Bergamo Alta. Alte come le aspettative, che certo non vengono deluse quando si arriva a Villa Elena: la location è semplicemente fantastica, maniacalmente curata e mirabilmente arredata. Tutto nelle sale (noi abbiamo cenato nella sala del camino) rasenta la perfezione, affreschi restaurati in maniera perfetta, specchi enormi e pulitissimi, sedute incredibilmente comode (le migliori della mia vita). Ovviamente tutta la componentistica è da bistellato: piatti di una bellezza da lasciare incantati, bicchieri e stoviglie al top. Così come top è sicuramente il menù metamorfosi primavera da noi degustato: chef Galtarossa ha "studiato" molto bene dai francesi l'arte di amalgamare ingredienti apparentemente distanti con cotture perfette e condimenti posti sulle pietanze al momento della degustazione che riescono a bilanciare perfettamente i "picchi" gustativi. Maniacale l'attenzione alla temperatura di servizio, con i (bravissimi) addetti di sala che a volte sembravano rallentare opportunamente per arrivare all'esatto timing di degustazione. Impossibile stilare una classifica, perchè dagli stuzzichini al pane (grissini alla paprika indimenticabili) fino alla piccola pasticceria (cioccolatino al passion fruit extrasensoriale) tutto è stato ai massimi livelli: se devo dare un "doppia lode" rispetto ai 10 e lode, penso di doverlo dare al piatto "spugnole e licheni", un piatto dalle mille sfumature che mi ha ricordato per emozione la "cena in emmaus" di Caravaggio. Ma tutte le portate, accompagnate da un Haderburg Pas dosè (ottimo) e da un eccezionale Sancerre Alphonse Mellot, ci hanno soddisfatto in pieno. Un grande ristorante, con un grande chef assistito da grandi addetti di sala, che serve grandi piatti in una grande e meravigliosa cornice. Ma proprio per questo, sono rimasto esterrefatto quando sono entrato nella toilette: innanzitutto è incredibile che ce ne fosse solo una per donne e uomini, poi anche l'accessoristica, ad iniziare dai saponi, era totalmente inadeguata al resto della location, del ristorante e di chi vi opera. Siamo usciti felici ed appagati dopo una splendida ed indimenticabile serata, in cui il nostro palato è stato deliziato in tutti i modi e le maniere possbili. Ma proprio per questo trovo inverosimile che una location che ha tutto per diventare tristellata abbia una simile limitazione. Chiudo ribadendo la mia stima ed i miei complimenti allo straordinario chef Galtarossa, al professionale, competente e mai invadente direttore di sala Marco Bragaglia ed al bravissimo sommellier Mattia Vianello. Torneremo sicuramente, sperando di trovare un'area toilette degna di questa meravigliosa perla bergamasca

I made a reservation some time ago via smart box in this residence and today, less than 10 days from the selected dates, they sent me a cancellation email so I called and they told me that "they don't know why but it's a popular and crowded weekend" If you don't want these reservations via smart box, because you don't have the same earnings, don't join these types of packages!

06/05/2025: My wife and I stayed this weekend, what can I say, very kind staff, clean rooms, excellent area... we will definitely return... I forgot, excellent food...

14/04/2025: Never again.... after having witnessed a scene on Sunday 13th April from the elderly lady with glasses (always rude) towards one of her colleagues. She was really rude and mean and then in front of the customers. Bad example for those who are learning. We customers at the cash register felt really uncomfortable. From regular customer to lost customer. It's a shame because the coffee is very good but it's who is behind the counter who makes the difference.

13/07/2025: PS: Since they SURELY noticed the mistake in the evening with the report, I HONESTLY expect at least an apology... ...be careful!!!!!!! I can't believe they took advantage of my hurry... the change was for €10... but I paid with a €20 note... so instead of €7, I paid €17 for 5 mini takeaway biscuits, which were already expensive...?!?!?!? PS: Since they SURELY noticed the mistake in the evening with the report, I HONESTLY expect at least an apology.

30/06/2025: I spent 4.50 euros for a cappuccino and a mediocre brioche. Definitely too expensive.

06/05/2025: I order some pizzas and go at the agreed time. I show up on time and he starts making pizzas for others who were after me... They all passed me. In the end he served me 40 minutes late. And the pizzas were disgusting too. One was even burned. Shame on you!!!

30/07/2025: I had the classic piadina, they only added a small amount of squacquerone, low-quality prosciutto, and tons of arugula. I didn't like it at all. I don't recommend it.

12/07/2025: Change the cashier, or better yet, tell the cashier to change jobs if she doesn't like being around people. Annoyed and arrogant. Desire to live, jump on me!

19/03/2025: Drawn by the atmosphere and the fixed-price menu, we had lunch as a couple at this restaurant, which features numerous vintage furnishings and pleasant background music, contrasting with the brusque and unwelcoming manner of the sole person serving the table: certain professions require a certain level of skill, and in this case, it's lacking. The food, in terms of quantity and quality, is in line with the prices, to which you add €2.50 for table service per person and €2 for bread (€2 for a 0.5-liter plastic bottle of water). It wouldn't take much to make a meal stop much more pleasant and appealing.

16/03/2025: We had lunch on a weekday following the menu of the day proposed by the structure... Particular place and suitable for the context of a town like Bergamo Alta; fast but careless, approximate and almost anxiolytic service; good food, well cooked but not cheap.

05/07/2025: we bought 2 frappes, for the modest price of €10, it only tasted of milk, very little of the flavour of ice cream.

20/06/2025: Salmon avocado toast among the worst of my life. Huge avocado slices and smoked salmon crumbled and cooked. With strange and bitter seeds. Piadina with bresaola flakes of parmesan (bad) balsamic vinegar (poor quality) and a field of rocket. Do you train people before making them work? A smile is not enough. Terrible experience. Absolutely to be avoided.
