A well-maintained restaurant, excellent dishes with a nice wine list. The service is always attentive and helpful. I recommend booking because the restaurant is small and always busy. I will definitely be back.

A lovely, characteristic trattoria in the heart of Genoa's old Sampierdarena district, run by a young and attentive management team. Excellent dishes and a well-balanced, unique Ligurian-style fish menu. The wait staff is brilliant, friendly, and quick, and personable. One criticism concerns the table setting, which could definitely be improved (tablecloths and napkins are needed), given the medium-high quality of the cuisine and the refined atmosphere. Furthermore, if a large group is dining in a room, the table for two should be placed in a quieter area to protect the poor ears, conversation, and privacy of the diners. Always considering the high quality of this establishment, which is not a pizzeria... As an architect, I can't comment on the bathroom because I haven't been there, and I can confirm that it's easily accessible for everyone, with just one step from street level. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes, paired with the excellent wine list! Enjoy your meal at Zia Maria's!

The menu features some very special dishes, true to the Genoese tradition. Everything is very well prepared. The young waiters are able to recommend the most special dishes if you're a foreigner.

A quaint trattoria in the port area with traditional dishes cooked to perfection using high-quality ingredients. The pansotti are especially noteworthy. It's hard to find such good and balanced dishes, and the cod and rabbit are also very good. The desserts are excellent. These days, it's hard to find quality dishes cooked simply and respecting tradition. Returned today, June 18, 2026, and the authenticity of the dishes is confirmed once again: fabulous and very generous seafood spaghetti, excellent grilled fish, and absolutely fabulous desserts, a zuppa inglese (trifle) to be commended.

The atmosphere is very pleasant, rustic, we like it, the staff are very kind, they have a fresh and pleasant house rosรฉ, excellent food, trofiette alla "carbonara" with top salmon, and a truly excellent dark chocolate dessert, I recommend it, try it and I will definitely be back!! ๐ŸพโœŒ๏ธ

28/04/2026: This is a review of my second visit. I visited this place during my honeymoon on December 30, 2016, but this time I joined my parents and two daughters. I was so happy to be able to return to a place with such fond memories with my family. The food was just as delicious as ever. I was about to be disappointed when I saw that the octopus salad, which I enjoyed so much before, wasn't on the menu, but I was so happy when they told me that it was available to order even though it wasn't listed! Today, we ordered ร  la carte dishes. While everything was delicious, the seafood pasta was the most memorable. I wanted to take my time enjoying the delicious food and great atmosphere, but the children were very tired due to jet lag, so we had to leave without having dessert. It was such a shame, so I feel like I really need to visit again. Please keep operating for a long time so we can come back! ๐Ÿ˜Š I have photos from 2016, so I am uploading them along with the photos I took today. โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” I found this place by searching on Google Maps, and I am satisfied with the taste, service, and atmosphere!! 19/04/2026: A minimalist and elegant restaurant, with a relaxed atmosphere and a fairly select clientele. The menu is primarily seafood-based, with simple yet thoughtful offerings. We each had an appetizer and a first course: the appetizers were well-balanced in terms of portions and flavors, while the first courses were more generous. The wine selection was also good: the one we tried was pleasant and paired well with the dishes. The service was discreet and in keeping with the setting, without being overbearing but still attentive. Overall, a positive experience: you can sense the good quality of the ingredients and a certain attention to detail in the menu. The quality/price ratio is consistent with the type of restaurant and the offerings.
