03/11/2024: Place in a quiet and cozy location just outside the main squares. Inside it appears a little confusing, with a modern, almost circus-like style, with combinations of historic wooden furniture and bright curtains. Overall you can see the desire to be elegant, I would aim for that. As a first course, two tagliatelle with mushrooms and saffron, good, slightly watery and not too tasty. Maybe I would use some porcini mushrooms and review the balance between the flavors to give the dish a little boost. Like a second Florentine steak, matured for 70 days, perfectly cooked: rare but not cold. Tasty and tender, slightly orange fat, really good. Baked potatoes truly to remember, light and fragrant, not heavy, crunchy. The manager is a truly capable and attentive person who transmits passion. Service of the Fiorentina cut at the table performed very well. In essence, a place with great potential, if you fix something it can be at the top.

29/12/2024: On a Sunday when we were passing through, the desire to discover authentic and satisfying flavors led us to Rapolano Terme. Attracted by the reviews on guides and dedicated platforms, we chose to stop at "Osteria Il Granaio", in the small village which alone is worth a detour. We were welcomed in a warm and professional atmosphere, thanks to an impeccable staff who made us feel immediately at ease. The environment of the tavern is elegant and with attention to detail, with an aesthetic attention that anticipates the quality of the gastronomic experience. The lunch opened with two Chianina tartare which proved to be impeccable. The meat, of excellent quality, was expertly chopped with a knife and embellished with simple but decisive condiments: capers and a local extra virgin olive oil that deserves a special mention. We then continued with the first courses, a true tribute to the Tuscan tradition. The pici with Chianina ragù, with an intense and enveloping flavour, made the "scarpet" inevitable. Equally memorable are the tortelli filled with ricotta and spinach, served with a rich sauce of sausage, potatoes and cheese, a well-calibrated explosion of flavours. Even the desserts chapter did not disappoint: each proposal proved to be a perfect conclusion to the lunch, demonstrating that the attention to detail does not stop at the main courses. The wine list, well assorted and thoughtful, celebrates local products without giving up a selection of national and international labels. A heartfelt thank you to the friendly and always helpful staff, who helped make this experience even more pleasant. “Osteria Il Granaio” is a stop that we recommend without hesitation, and which will certainly see us as protagonists again in the future.

25/12/2024: Wir kommen jedes Jahr nach Montalcino und dann natürlich ins Locanda Demetra. Wir sind totale Fans. Wir haben jedesmal einen wunderschönen Abend mit unglaublich gutem Essen. Hier leben 3 junge Menschen ihren Traum und das merkt man in allem: dem Essen, der Freude Gäste zu bewirteten und natürlich das Ambiente. Es gibt nur an 3 Tagen in der Woche abends ein Menü, das nur geringfügig änderbar ist. Man muss sich sozusagen überraschen lassen - und das macht unglaublich Spaß. Hinzu kommt, dass nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Gästen pro Abend dort bewirtet werden. Eine Reservierung ist unbedingt zu empfehlen! Jeder Gang wird genau erklärt: Herkunft des Fleisches, das Gemüse und die Kräuter wachsen im eigenen Garten. Die Auswahl an Weinen von Winzern vor Ort ist sehr groß. Rundum ein MUST.

Excellent food, prepared with care and genuine products. Menu with wide choices. Excellent wine, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Recommended if you want to try something different from the usual restaurant.

15/01/2025: Consultando le recensioni abbiamo deciso di provare questa trattoria a Sant'Angelo Scalo e mai scelta fù più azzzeccata, ambiente informale a gestione familiare. In due abbiamo preso una zuppa di funghi con castagne e porcini e degli gnocchi al sugo d'anatra; per secondo un taglire di formaggi misti che abbiamo diviso e per finire una zuppa inglese ed un caffè. Tutto buonissimo e preparato in modo genuino. Spesa di 20,00 € a testa. Torneremo sicuramente!!!!

13/01/2025: Siamo capitati in questa trattoria per caso a ora di pranzo diretti nella zona di Montalcino. Siamo stati fortunati a fermarci qui. Ambiente semplice ma curato. Buona scelta nel menù con piatti della tradizione locale però cucinati in maniera ricercata. Prezzi onestissimi.

01/12/2024: Centro storico di Chiusi, è l’ora di pranzo di una fredda domenica di inizio dicembre. Non abbiamo prenotato, ma i proprietari (marito e moglie) si danno da fare per trovare un tavolo per due. Scelta ottima, a giudicare da quello che abbiamo provato (poche cose ma buone e preparate con cura): cacio e pere, pici all’aglione, zuppa di zucca e farro, e spinaci ripassati in padella insaporiti dall’aglione della Valdichiana. Porzioni giuste per appetiti normali, servizio gentile, prezzi in linea con la qualità dei piatti. Torneremo con più tempo a disposizione per provare altre proposte del menù.

06/01/2025: Per l'ultima sera ad Asciano abbiamo prenotato questo ristorante. Ambiente elegante ma non leccato, spicca vicino alla cassa questo meraviglioso camino per la brace. Tavoli ben apparecchiati e personale davvero gentile. Posso dire di aver mangiato probabilmente il miglior filetto della mia vita? Perfetto sotto tutti i punti di vista. Buono anche il galletto alla brace, super il ragù bianco di mio figlio, fantastiche le patate lardellate, una vera delizia. E chicca finale il tiramisù scomposto. Il tutto accompagnato da una scelta di vini davvero supeba. Spesa giusta per qualità e quantità. Se posso solo suggerire una cosa, i piatti a volte sono un po' scomodi, per esempio la scodella del primo davvero troppo profonda e il piatto dell'insalata a forma di...canoa davvero ingombrante. Ma sono piccole cose, anche divertenti che nulla tolgono al resto, e che attengono chiaramente al gusto personale. Ottimo posto davvero, avrei già voglia di tornarci!

27/12/2024: Small and cozy restaurant with excellent local food. We enjoyed the soup as well as the two beef main plates we ordered. As a bonus the prices of the dishes were fair. A meal of soup and two main meals and a beer at 55 euro.

21/11/2024: A unique experience among the many traditional Italian restaurants, all with good food. They have the best [not traditional Tuscan] bread and they serve it with the best balsamic vinegar we've had in any restaurant ANYWHERE. We've never had a dish we didn't like. Visit with no risk of disappointment. Update one year later: we still come often, but I admit that we often order our same favorite items. Last night changed our future behavior. We were in a mood for something different. We still ordered our standard pasta dish: Pici with Tuscan beef ragu, but then we branched out into the unknown. We started with a baked eggplant with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was life changing. This 5 euro appetizer was the best vegetable dish either of us have ever tasted. I Will try my best to recreate it, and our host was open about some of the critical secrets. We followed with slow roasted pork neck in a wonderful sauce with mashed potatoes and fennel. Every bit as good as the eggplant, but not so unique.
