We discovered this place while searching Google Maps for a nice place to eat near our B&B. Truly fantastic! Everything was delicious, from the pici to the grilled meat to the Panigacci (bread they make on the spot). The place is beautiful, surrounded by greenery, and very welcoming. The staff was also very helpful in giving us a table next to the grill, since the last available table was in a small room with the heating off. Highly recommended!!!

Near the highway entrance, yet nestled in the countryside, lies the Agriosteria. We stopped by chance and can't wait to return. Bread baked freshly in terracotta terrines heated over the fire. An ancient recipe that captures all the flavor of tradition and is carried forward with passion! T-bone steaks cooked over the open fire, home-grown snails, and incredible picci al ragù! After lunch, we toured the animal farm in front of the property. A place to return to!

The agri-restaurant is surrounded by greenery. You can see the animals, and the staff is very kind and attentive. The man grilling explained to us what "panigacci" are and how to make them, making the experience very inclusive and conveying his passion for his work. In addition to the panigacci, we also ordered a mixed grill, pici with white ragu, and a half liter of red wine for a total of €60. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

I agree with the other reviews: the food here is excellent! We find Tuscan tradition revitalized, but not distorted as it sometimes unfortunately happens, certainly enhanced by the high quality of the products. I was pleasantly surprised to find pigeon on the menu, which I hadn't eaten in many years. Of course, I took advantage of it...😋

This family-run restaurant is nestled in the countryside yet just minutes from the highway, making it perfect for a stopover. The meat is excellent, and they're friendly. They serve a grilled meat dish (a kind of tartare) served with melted cheese and spectacular focaccia. Excellent prices.

An authentic country osteria, a treasure trove of traditional, authentic, and excellent food! The charming Tuscan couple creates a welcoming and family-like atmosphere. Unique! Worth a visit!!!

A wonderful evening in a dreamlike setting. The cuisine is absolutely authentic and perfectly reflects Tuscan tradition – honest, high-quality, and full of flavor. You can taste the love for regional ingredients and artisanal preparation in every dish. Add to that a warm, relaxed atmosphere that invites you to linger. A true gem – we'll definitely be back!

Hotel Certosa di Maggiano

06/05/2026: I would give this 10 stars if I could! Just had the best stay. Perfect three days! Beautiful property! The decor is on point, charming and whimsical. The food among the best we ate in Italy. The staff set a new high bar for customer service even before we arrived and throughout our visit. It felt like saying goodbye to family when we left. Concierge Michelle helped us to plan outstanding dinners, Paola at the front desk enthusiastically welcomed us and provided great service throughout. Faith at the pool was a bright, warm host. And the evening bartender was not only expert in mixology - asking our preferred flavor profiles before suggesting drink variations- but also in Siena history. Great ambassadors of La Certosa, Siena, and Italy one and all!
21/04/2026: I won’t be able to do this hotel justice with just this review but here we go. The moment we arrived at Certosa Di Maggiano everything was perfect, the attention to detail with every inch of the hotel is perfection, the staff are attentive but not pushy, they make you feel welcomed and like family. We need to give a special shout out to the sommelier Riccardo, Lou on the front desk and the Albanian waiter whose name escapes me. Every member of the team were amazing but these three really made our stay great. The rooms, outdoor spaces, the food, the drinks and the vibes in this hotel are perfect. It’s such a romantic space and it never felt overcrowded or busy. It was just the right level of intimate. We came away from here knowing that we will be back again. It’s a special place.
