06/04/2026: We visited this restaurant yesterday and had a truly positive experience. The owners were extremely kind and knowledgeable, but what struck us most was their genuine passion for their work: it shines through in every detail, from the service to the descriptions of the dishes. The menu is simple, with just a few options, but carefully curated. Each dish is unique, refined, and unlike anything else you'll find elsewhere. There's a strong identity and a commitment to quality ingredients. A distinctive feature is their artisanal amaro, called "Amargo," which we also purchased to take home. It's inspired by the history of the Spanish occupation, a detail that adds character and depth to the experience. The quality-price ratio is absolutely right, in line with what's on offer. What we most enjoyed, however, is the atmosphere: we felt welcomed and at home. It's a place you'll gladly return to, not just for the food, but for the humanity that accompanies it.

20/05/2026: Unmissable! Traditional Maremma cuisine prepared with passion. Generous dishes at a more than reasonable price. Very attentive and never intrusive service. The restored ancient cellar is worth a look! A word of advice: save room for the tiramisu!

08/06/2026: I love places where only locals typically go. Pantera Rosa is exactly that kind of place. I actually only wanted a double espresso. Then I noticed the food on offer at the counter. The seafood salad and the pasta salad were delicious. Cooked just like you'd expect in Italy. The staff (mother, father, and daughter) were incredibly friendly, quick, and attentive. The daughter speaks good English. I would definitely come back.

06/05/2026: One of my favorite restaurants in Castiglione, the hospitality is stellar. Stop to see the owners' love, as they effortlessly and effortlessly transition between their guests and the food. Excellent ingredients, generous portions, and a beautiful atmosphere. If you smoke, there's a lovely view of the castle for a break during or after your meal. Reasonable prices. Giulia, thank you for allowing us to enjoy a series of wonderful dinners.

03/05/2026: We went to the Il Portico farmhouse in Capalbio for lunch with six friends. The restaurant is well-presented, with the classic country farmhouse feel: a beautiful garden with a pool and both indoor and outdoor spaces. The atmosphere is pleasant, comfortable, and spacious. The food was good, well-cooked, and of high quality, with a decent house red wine and an overall good value. The big problem, however, was the service: the first courses didn't arrive together. Four tortelli with Chianina beef ragù were served promptly, while the pappardella with wild boar and the pici with artichokes and pancetta arrived about 20 minutes later. The result: we all ate out of sync, which was definitely annoying and unacceptable for a group lunch. Honestly, it's unclear what happened in the kitchen, but such a disservice completely ruins the experience. Good food, but the organization needs revising. I don't think I'll be back.

02/05/2026: We were there recently... very good food, good service, a 4 for the hospitality... smile! Perhaps the prices are medium/high for some dishes; in the end, a plate of prosciutto with five fried pizza balls cost €12, a bit steep! You could do better!

A highlight of this place is not only its peaceful surroundings where life slowly passes by, with locals sharing funny jokes, the old boys playing bocce or youth kicking a ball around, it's the view of the surrounding mountains and rolling hills of olive trees and grapevines. Beautiful. The only thing unusual about this place is Paolo's love for his beloved Inter Milan club, which I feared to let him know I support Juventus. But no matter who you support, he and his sister welcome you with open arms and an intoxicating Italian passion. It feels like being under a spell, not just because of the view and everything you can see, but also from the owner to all his "colleagues," who are gifted with a kindness and professionalism that not everyone possesses. Everything we ate—starters, first courses, second courses, and vegetables—was excellent, with more than generous portions. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was simple but made you feel at home. Prices were very reasonable. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion for local cuisine. If you're looking for a truly local experience, this is the place. A special thank you to all the staff, always smiling, professional, and with an infectious warmth, who made the evening even more enjoyable. We highly recommend Osteria di Pantalla to anyone looking for an authentic experience, featuring excellent food, excellent wines, sincere hospitality, and a unique atmosphere. 24/05/2026: In a remote village, this pizzeria will surprise you in every way. There are two beautiful terraces with well-placed, illuminated gazebos to enjoy the view and the cool air, so much so that when it gets too cool, everyone is given a blanket to cover themselves with. The interior is meticulously maintained, with stone walls and vaulted brick ceilings, and elegant and sophisticated table settings. The pizza is delicious, and there's a wide selection of toppings, including unique ones. There's also a restaurant menu for those who want it. Highly recommended.
