22/05/2026: Had a wonderful dinner at Osteria dell’Orcagna. Great food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. The pasta was delicious and everything felt fresh and authentic. Definitely recommend if you’re in Florence!

07/06/2026: We stopped at Lo Scudo planning to have a cocktail and maybe an appetizer before moving on. Instead, we ended up staying for dinner, and we are glad we did. The aged Bistecca alla Fiorentina was outstanding. Great flavor, perfectly prepared, and exactly what you hope for when ordering a steak in Florence. My wife prefers her steak a little more well done, and the kitchen was happy to prepare a few slices separately for her. That kind of flexibility and attention to detail goes a long way. The cheese plate and bread were excellent, some of the best we have had during our time in Italy. The isole e olena Chianti recommendation paired perfectly with the steak and was exactly what we were looking for. 3 boys we used as a snack. A big reason we stayed was Mateo. He was welcoming from the start, knew the menu inside and out, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and genuine. There was never any pressure, just good recommendations and great service. What started as a quick stop for a drink turned into one of our favorite meals in Florence. Great food, great wine, and a local atmosphere that felt authentic. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend Lo Scudo.

22/02/2026: Authentic Italian experience. We arrived just as they were going to close after lunch (weren’t aware of this custom) and when they found out we were Canadians, we were ushered to a table and treated like we were long lost relatives they hadn’t seen in years, incuding free shots of some flavorful Italian liqueurs. Son was the waiter, momma was hostess/kitchen help and poppa worked the kitchen. We were familia! No Italian on our part, no English on their part, they just used the Love to make it special. ❤️❤️

17/02/2026: Here in Brazil, there's a huge fan of this Trattoria. Besides the spectacular food, the reception and hospitality were indescribable. Everything was incredible!!!

07/06/2026: Two chefs and two servers run the entire restaurant, which is incredibly impressive. The service is funny, friendly, intuitive, and they speak excellent English. The pasta was delicious, and the Bistecca alla Fiorentina was incredibly tender and soft. I ordered a massive 1.4-kilo T-bone steak just for myself and no way I could finish it, but they happily packed up the leftovers for me to go. Pro-tip if you love real spicy: Ask them for the "diavolicchio di Calabria peperoncino"—it’s the dried red chili pepper hanging on the wall. Adding it makes the food even more delicious!

His smile is so contagious it’s the cutest ever The food is beyond delicious, the spaghetti with prawns and lemon zest is out of this world, freshest prawns out there, my friends loved their dishes as well, for sure a must try, not a tourist trap at all Thank you infinitely Giuseppe 🩷

06/06/2026: This is my go-to restaurant every time I come to Florence! The food is amazing, and the staff are so lovely. It is just a few minutes walk from the duomo and the tower, and a lovely spot to sit in the evening. The gnocchi is the best I have ever eaten, so light and really flavoursome sauces - I have already come back twice this visit to Florence. Definitely recommend!

06/06/2026: We went to eat, guided by the view and we did NOT get it right, expensive price for the food you get. The pasta was very overcooked and I would like to point out that the carbonara that one of the people ordered (who is a big fan of carbonara) seemed to him to be the worst carbonara he has ever ordered. The service was correct, the place was beautiful. The bathroom was DISGUSTING. We do not recommend it

27/03/2026: My olive oil was delivered to my door perfectly. Bottles meticulously packed. Will not hesitate on ordering again. Thrilled with my delicious olive oil kissed by the Tuscan Sun.😊

26/02/2026: Absolutely amazing. My husband and I toured this winery on our honeymoon and it was so good that we literally imported wine and olive oil back to the states the second we got home. 20/05/2026: EDIT: This was my favourite lunch place in Florence! Budget-friendly, with local, fresh, and tasteful food. However, the last time we were there, I tried to pay and their card machine was not working. They did not inform us about this beforehand and simply assumed we had cash. When we didn’t, they became very unfriendly and treated us like tourists trying to take advantage of the situation, as if we did not want to pay. They even wanted us to leave our passports as a collateral while we went to the ATM. Obviously, we were not comfortable giving away our passports in a foreign country. So we went to the ATM feeling very sad about the whole experience.

16/05/2026: Away from the tourists, and we love it! Run by several women, authentic Italian cuisine, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices, guaranteed pleasure and conviviality.

04/05/2026: It wasn't the most delicious meal in Florence, but it still tasted good. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. The restaurant was very loud, and unfortunately, my clothes smelled bad afterward.

27/04/2026: My partner and I ate here on a Saturday evening. It actually started off quite well; we were greeted and quickly got a table, even though the place was busy. After our order was taken, only my partner's wine arrived, followed by his food. He had ordered an appetizer and a pizza; both were brought at the same time, so the pizza got cold. We had to point out to the waiters that my drink was also missing. The young waiter apologized but then brought a Coke, even though I had ordered a Coke Zero… (But he was the only waiter who apologized for the delay/forgetting). After asking again, my food finally arrived, but the waitress practically threw it onto the table without a word (after an hour, and unfortunately, it didn't taste good either, completely swimming in oil). The owner came to all the tables (all local Italians) and asked if everything was alright, made small talk, and asked about dessert – at every table except ours. This gave the impression that tourists were not necessarily welcome as guests.

The famous and incredibly tender and flavorful Florentine steak, I've never seen anything like it, it melts in your mouth..., prepared and served by the dear @serginhoroncaratti and @reroncaratti. Steak of origin matured by @dariocecchinimacellaio Dario Cechini, the most famous butcher in the world! 🇧🇷🇮🇹❤️ An unparalleled gastronomic experience!! In fact, everything at Il Vescovino is too good, starting with the affection of the Roncarati family!! I 1000% recommend a visit, in the heart of Tuscany, in a 1000-year-old village, a wonderful place and excellent service by this Brazilian family that is a success in beautiful Tuscany!
