13/07/2026: Eight dishes and a bottle of wine for €60 per person is never a bad deal. When you factor in the creativity, the hard work and the creativity in the food - it becomes a bargain. 慢工出细活 - slow work yields fine products. Sous vide chicken tempura, an unbelievable burnt onion and liquorice linguine (🤯), insanely tender veal tongue. Some really incredible dishes. Food made with love, where you can feel the passion Gabriele has for proper cooking. This place makes a welcome break from traditional trattoria or osteria cooking. This is the kind of spot I’d visit first day every time I come back to Florence and will recommend to every person who visits.

15/05/2026: A charming place with welcoming staff, you feel right at home, starting with Renzo, the owner, and his wife, Barbara, who runs the kitchen. We had previously stayed here with a friend and were happy to return, enjoying two relaxing days. I have to share a story that happened, but I'd love to share it with everyone. We arrived by motorbike in terrible weather, rain, etc., but even though the restaurant was closed, they offered us lunch, which is truly remarkable and never taken for granted. Thank you so much. 04/04/2026: I don’t know where to begin with Scara & Beo… Possibly one of the most memorable dinner I ever had. You enter the restaurant from a tiny, narrow street. Once inside the space expand suddenly, over a large room which carries on over the rooftops and the valley through two beautiful windows. This analogy carries on with the exquisite food, waiting to burst in your palate. Everything is thought. Every little detail. The decor, the attentive service, the food. Even the music, always tasteful and just at the perfect volume (an art form itself). Paola, behind the counter, is the real maestro, quietly orchestrating and finishing each dish with focus and passion. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this little, extraordinary place is a confirmation that being kind to animals doesn’t mean sacrificing the pleasure of eating. Can you make poetry with food? Certainly yes. Here it happens.

17/05/2026: Rosso Rubino is a must-try if you’re visiting Montepulciano. The garlic pici was so amazing we were eating spoonfuls of the sauce when it was done. Also, the tiramisu was the best we’ve ever had. They only do one seating every night so make sure to reserve in advance. You will need to call or email them to make a reservation. Grazie mille!!

18/05/2026: The pistachio ice cream (our comparison flavor) definitely deserves 6/5 stars – only the one in Verona had a few more pieces 😜. We also tried mango/passion fruit, strawberry, and biscotti, and all were delicious. Highly recommended, get your world-class ice cream!

Katia was very nice and very funny. the food is incredible, like eating at an Italian's home. we recommend it and it's definitely one of the reasons why we want to go back to Tavarnelle. what we can recommend is veal with mushrooms and truffles, carbonara, bisteka Fiorentina, tortellini, everythink. 07/07/2026: A wonderful experience that I recommend to everyone! We visited the Nenci farm on June 28th and had a wonderful day. The location is stunning, nestled in the beautiful hills of Chiusi. Paolo is a truly wonderful guy: he showed us around the farm and explained his work with great passion. We loved the beer tasting, and we had a truly delicious meal. We'll definitely be back!

06/07/2026: We booked a wine tasting and cooking class at Nenci quite last minute whilst holidaying in Chiusi. It was amazing and really exceeded our expectations! Ricardo and his father Marco were very welcoming and are clearly very passionate about their home and business, making delicious wines, olive oils and fruit jams. Riccardo and his father very patiently taught us how to make homemade pici pasta and crostini, which was a great experience, especially as the surroundings are so beautiful! We tasted 5 delicious wines which were accompanied by a beautiful platter of local produce, and our own pasta/crostini! Riccardo was so kind and knowledgeable, we really appreciated his hospitality and we would recommend this experience to anyone!

01/05/2026: Wow, these burgers are fabulous!! A friend of mine recommended this recently opened place (most of the photos here are from the previous management), saying everything was delicious, but I didn't expect it to be this good. I'm used to the quality of gourmet burgers more common in various foreign countries. In Italy, the quality is often lower, as there's no strong tradition in the field. So I expected something decent but not quite as excellent, especially considering the cute, small, and informal place. Everything was super good, every bite a delight: from the texture of the bread, which is incredibly soft, to the deliciousness of the meat and the overall seasoning, you can sense the absolute quality of the ingredients. I'll also try the schiacciate, but if this is the case, they'll be amazing!!

07/07/2026: I dined here with my wife, daughter, and a friend. The welcome was incredibly warm, with limited seating but well-distributed. The view of Montecristo and Pianosa was breathtaking. The owner rattles off the dishes his mother prepares with passion and attention to detail. Everything was truly delicious and beautifully presented. The price paid was worth the space and the service. The only drawback is the complete lack of parking, but that's the case for practically all of Capoliveri. However, although not widely advertised, there are several free parking lots and a free shuttle that takes you from the parking lot near the cemetery and sports field to within walking distance of the center. Then there are the "cool" ones who like to park like VIPs... But that's another story 😜 If you're on Elba and want a special evening, go for dinner here; it's worth it. P.S. Book well in advance! UPDATE 2026 After 6 long years, I finally returned last night... I can't confirm what I wrote previously, but I wish I could say more... the friendliness and presentation are superb... (the plump mussels 😁). Everything was simply delicious, and the location, especially at sunset, was dreamy. The parking problem remains unchanged, but if you go by scooter, there's plenty of parking. Remember, water causes rust... bring the wine!

02/06/2026: We went on a Monday night because everything was closed, but it was a pleasant surprise. We ate really well at reasonable prices. (€187 for 5 of us, including appetizers and meat main courses with excellent baked potatoes, plus two desserts, a bottle of wine, and two liqueurs.) The atmosphere was simple and pleasant, and the staff were friendly. When we return to the area, we'll definitely dine again. Thank you.

08/07/2026: If you're looking for a slice of authentic Tuscany just steps from the tourist bustle of Piazza Santa Croce, Canto del Ramerino is a must-see. It's one of those rare places where its central location doesn't compromise the quality and soul of the restaurant. The Experience As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and refined atmosphere, with that scent of rosemary (the "ramerino" in Italian) that immediately makes you understand that the raw materials here are sacred. What we loved: • First Courses: Fresh homemade pasta that tastes of tradition. The pici and pappardelle are topped with flavorful sauces that are never boring. • La Ciccia: Being in Florence, the meat is the real deal. Their tagliata is tender as butter and cooked to perfection. • Service: Attentive and friendly staff, capable of recommending the perfect glass of Chianti without being formal or rushed. Mario is a phenomenon. The Verdict The value for money is excellent, considering we're in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. It's the ideal place for both a romantic dinner and a rejuvenating lunch after a visit to the Basilica. Tip: Don't leave without trying their artisanal desserts; they're a worthy conclusion to a memorable meal...
