06/05/2026: I would give this 10 stars if I could! Just had the best stay. Perfect three days! Beautiful property! The decor is on point, charming and whimsical. The food among the best we ate in Italy. The staff set a new high bar for customer service even before we arrived and throughout our visit. It felt like saying goodbye to family when we left. Concierge Michelle helped us to plan outstanding dinners, Paola at the front desk enthusiastically welcomed us and provided great service throughout. Faith at the pool was a bright, warm host. And the evening bartender was not only expert in mixology - asking our preferred flavor profiles before suggesting drink variations- but also in Siena history. Great ambassadors of La Certosa, Siena, and Italy one and all!

21/04/2026: I won’t be able to do this hotel justice with just this review but here we go. The moment we arrived at Certosa Di Maggiano everything was perfect, the attention to detail with every inch of the hotel is perfection, the staff are attentive but not pushy, they make you feel welcomed and like family. We need to give a special shout out to the sommelier Riccardo, Lou on the front desk and the Albanian waiter whose name escapes me. Every member of the team were amazing but these three really made our stay great. The rooms, outdoor spaces, the food, the drinks and the vibes in this hotel are perfect. It’s such a romantic space and it never felt overcrowded or busy. It was just the right level of intimate. We came away from here knowing that we will be back again. It’s a special place.

14/04/2026: We popped in for a couple of panini and the owner asked where we were from. He told us he’s from Calabria and has lots of Calabrian products in the store. He let us try a few Calabrian specialties and they were all delicious! Amazing food and lovely service :)

13/01/2026: Fantastic pasta-making course at Ristorante Rosso Crudo! The class was fun, well organized, and very hands-on. The teacher was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through making fresh pasta from scratch and sharing great tips along the way. Everything was explained clearly, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. Eating the pasta at the end however was not good as during the making of the pasta pepole were rubbing there noses and coughing in to their hands. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Italian food or wants a unique experience.

10/05/2026: The crostini are very good, not to mention the light and crispy thin-crust pizzas, and finally the raspberry cheesecake is amazing. I recommend it if you haven't tried it yet. The waiters are friendly, and a big shout out to Jessica, who did the bill for us, who was friendly and always smiling... I'll definitely be back 🥰🥰

15/04/2026: Avoid the tasting menu, is overpriced. We had "the sea" menu and not a single one of the dishes tasted good, in fact they had no taste at all. For the price they cost, is terrible. Also avoid the pairing wine is just equally terrible. Cheap wines that were open for a while. Overall, just NOT worth the money. On top of that, we were seated in the worst table, and the lights are so dim that is hard to see. We saw some people using their phone's flashlights ro see the menu XD.

15/04/2026: This restaurant is a huge disappointment. The food is not ok, definitely overcharged. The hot plates are tepid and the taste is… there is not much taste. The risotto ball from the seafood menu has a very appealing “Volcano and Lava” look, but it has a very hard and firm exterior instead of crispy and crunchy. Not mentioning the spaghetti with no salt, and the ice-cream filled with ice pieces. What really makes me very uncomfortable is that: we were the first guests arrived that night WITH a reservation. However, a waitress seated us in the worst spot - very tight space between two doors, one leads to the kitchen and toilet, and the other one to another dinning room. This means, people (waiters and other guests) continuously and super closely passing us every 5 seconds through the whole dinner time, bringing the breeze and the tiny “earthquake“ (thanks to the loosen floor). What makes this worse: Another group (also 3 people) came right AFTER us, was seated by the window with a street view and with a romantically decorated leafy wall. The same waitress, during our first plate, came to the table and asked if she could already take the plates away… (Everyone’s plate was just half finished, we sent no signs of finishing with the cutlery…) It seemed that she really wanted us to finish quickly and kicked us out of there… Therefore, if you still want to try with this restaurant, I would recommend to walk-in directly and say no to this awfully located table and their seafood menu. We understand that Florence is extremely touristic, but this was literally the only bad dinning experience we had there.

23/03/2026: My wife said "delicious" and that is so rare that it equals 3 Michelin stars :-) Among 15 restaurants we visited in Lucca, Il Grammofono was the best. Great food, warm and relaxed athmosphere and also excellent staff.
