10/11/2025: Love this place. I have spent 9 weeks here in Lecce working, and this restaurant has the best eggplant parmagiana. I keep coming back. They also have a very friendly staff

30/10/2025: Visiting beautiful Lecce with a big appetite, here at Osteria il Poeta Contadino we were very satisfied and satisfied with very good and tasty food with a pleasant view of the small Piazza Sigismondo. The staff were kind and attentive. Thank you.

31/08/2025: We had already been to this restaurant with a positive experience but in the change of name and management something did not work, we had asked for a table in a sheltered position due to the presence of elderly people but unfortunately they did not give us a table as per our request, we asked for fried food and they arrived but they were terrible after a long wait we had to call the waiter for the orders, limited menu with little choice, an experience definitely not to be repeated

24/08/2025: In a small, beautiful corner of Lecce, I Galli is sure to please! We sat down at 11:00 PM and were treated to a warm puccia with parmigiana... off-menu, something fantastic. I highly recommend it!

21/08/2025: We just left this place... sitting next to a barrel... we ate well... the portions were adequate and the prices were in line with other places. The only problem is that there's almost nothing on the menu for children... in fact, with two children, we could only opt for the meatballs in tomato sauce. Otherwise, I recommend it!

01/11/2025: Unfriendly service. The waitress didn't seem interested in offering any dishes. She was only trying to sell cocktails. Given the number of bars around, avoid this place.

18/09/2025: The cocktails are good, but the staff isn't at all welcoming, especially the "younger" waiter, who was unpleasant from the start. Hospitality needs to be reconsidered.

06/09/2025: Great experience! The restaurant is very nice, and the cuisine is traditional and high-quality. I highly recommend the orecchiette with turnip greens, the eggplant parmigiana, and the mixed grill. The Primitivo Salento IGP from the San Marzano winery was a great pairing, recommended by the restaurant!

11/10/2025: Service first class, amazing home made lasagna. Wine selection was very interesting local and international options. Pier has an encyclopaedic knowledge of wines and is just such a lovely man.

14/03/2026: We waited about two hours for a pizza, very little toppings, poor quality products, and hot drinks. The restaurant has two dining rooms, one under the stairs, where cell phone reception is poor and the decor is retro to say the least.

06/10/2025: The pizzas were long-awaited, it seemed like you were eating biscuits, there was very little toppings, there was no danger of them falling off the plate.

08/03/2026: During the evening, one of their employees approached our table, took a picture of us, and then left... who knows. But then the bill arrived and we noticed: 4 sgroppini for the modest sum of €32.

21/02/2026: Highly recommended...it's always a guarantee, no matter the occasion. You can never go wrong. My family and I have been customers of this pizzeria for decades now. Both the food and the service are excellent.

15/03/2026: Never again have 5 Raffo beers, 20 euros, I served myself from the fridge, I didn't want glasses, when in the grocery stores 3 beers cost 1.79. I understand that a bar has expenses but exaggerating, it doesn't matter I will never go there again, they are poor things.

The food was good, the service excellent, and the prices fair! We went back again yesterday...as above! 😊

31/12/2025: I went for lunch with my partner to taste and try the place. The price and food were quite good. The best hot item for us was the cone with fries, salsa, and chicken. It's a shame the rustico arrived burned. 3 stars

24/01/2026: We've been frequenting this pizzeria for many years now, and it's certainly one of the most delicious in the lower Salento area. The taste of pizza is subjective, but to judge, you have to taste it. The dough is excellent, the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the fact that they're prepared in full view is certainly a guarantee. And to top it all off, the owner and his staff are incredibly friendly and offer excellent service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

04/09/2025: We went for an aperitivo. The prices and food were fantastic, with huge portions. The girl who served us was super kind and friendly. We didn't even have time to take a photo of the platter, it was all so captivating.

20/08/2025: I've been in Puglia for a week and I have to say that this was the best place I've eaten, beautiful view, very kind and welcoming staff, fair prices, I recommend the peppered mussels, excellent like nowhere else, even the fried fish, congratulations to everyone, a truly excellent place

27/07/2025: We've been regulars for years, and we've always had a good experience, probably because until now we've always dealt with Mr. Vito, an excellent and always very kind host. Last night, however, we were "lucky" enough to encounter a rude waiter. We'd simply asked to be moved from one table to another, as the one assigned to us was too close to some plants and had no air circulation, given the sweltering heat. After much insistence, the arrogant waiter was about to grant us our request, until the owner intervened, informing us in an arrogant and nervous tone that he, not us, decided on the table assignments. Ours was merely a request, not an imposition. We left, because courtesy and respect come first. We obviously won't be returning.
