14/02/2026: We were there last night, a Friday, with the rain pouring down on Lecce, and we wandered into Ronzino Dolce Lecce almost by chance, even though it's actually a true institution here. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the owner with a rare warmth and kindness, the kind that makes you feel instantly at ease. The atmosphere is unique, softly lit—not your typical diner, but a refined and evocative setting that invites you to linger and enjoy the moment. The owner was polite, helpful, and attentive even to small gestures like offering us water, something that's not at all a given these days. The crepes were a real surprise: a different kind of dough than the usual milk and egg, with a distinct lemon note that makes everything more fragrant and light. My wife and I had two Nutella crepes, and yes, Nutella is a must because it's part of the experience. They weren't the classic soft crepes, but crispier, and that's precisely why we were so satisfied. An authentic place, with a soul, where you can sense the passion and love for what they do. We'll definitely be back.

24/09/2025: After walking along Otranto’s old town and soaking up the marina views, we stumbled into Gelateria del Fico and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. I ordered stracciatella and ricotta, a pairing that completely redefined gelato for me. The stracciatella had a silky vanilla base laced with delicate shards of chocolate that melted on the tongue. The ricotta was incredible: luxuriously creamy, with a natural sweetness and a gentle tang, like cheesecake in frozen form. Together, the flavors balanced richness with freshness, decadent yet refreshing and not too sweet. This is more than just a quick stop! It’s a place that captures the essence of Salento with artisanal quality and flavors that are memorable. Highly recommended if you’re anywhere near Otranto.

The food is excellent, from the delicious appetizers to the meticulously prepared, sophisticated, and even exquisite first courses, to the truly delicious second courses, especially the meat-based ones. Finally, the pizzas are simply worth trying, each one better than the last. Stop by and you'll be sure to be satisfied. First of all, I'd like to extend my compliments to the entire staff, and especially to Cosimo and Andrea, their excellent hosts.

The staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely caring, which really makes the difference. The prices are also fair and in line with the quality. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent meal in a welcoming, authentic atmosphere. We'll be back!

And for dessert, Emilio’s tiramisu was a masterpiece. Not only delicious—it was one of those desserts that makes you speechless, because every spoonful deserves to be contemplated. The cream was soft as a cloud, with that perfect balance between mascarpone and just the right touch of sweetness. But what really made it special were Emilio and Clara. They carry it with a natural elegance, without pretension. They make you feel at home, as if you were part of the family. Emilio, with that calm smile, recommends dishes as if he had known you all his life. Clara, with an eye that observes everything, makes sure that every detail is in its place. It is one of those places where you don't just dine: you live an experience.

Between outdoor games, laughter, and running around with Pongo, their wonderful dog, he experienced moments of pure happiness. The pool, nestled among the olive trees, is a little paradise: perfect for relaxing and entertaining children safely, surrounded by nature. The accommodations are tastefully designed, comfortable, and immersed in a landscape that invites peace and tranquility. The restaurant is a real discovery: delicious dishes, prepared with local ingredients and served in a warm and convivial atmosphere. Emilio and Clara are exceptional hosts, always available and attentive, capable of making every guest feel like part of the family. The service is generally good, but having friends order ahead of the owner can be annoying. In our case, we had to wait 40 minutes for a coffee because a table right next to ours passed us simply because they were friends of the owner.

Entering a restaurant in the historic center, you'd expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but instead you find yourself in a place with no heating at all, no background music, a barking dog in the owners' restaurant, and a crowd of unsavory people using illicit substances right outside. I ordered a house appetizer, which is usually homemade, but as is often the case, it was a flavorless, low-quality frozen product. Not to mention the first course, which was trulli with basil pesto, dried tomatoes, and burrata. When it arrived, it was soaked in a sea of ​​basil oil, and it felt like pasta with olive oil. I don't mean to sound squeamish, but you can't serve dishes like that and leave them untouched without receiving feedback from the owner who was waiting the tables about the various remaining dishes. And as if that weren't enough, there was no coffee, sweet or bitter, to serve to your customers. Places like this should be on the tourist radar, as our baroque city of Lecce is. Entrepreneurs who think they have the skills to launch themselves into the restaurant world are a disgrace to the people who visit you.
