29/01/2026: The 1kg artisanal panettone in a Bric's fabric bag that I took home for €60.00 was indigestible. I didn't have the presence of mind to refuse it; the owners could have informed me in advance, but they didn't! The owner is also rude and should be ashamed of himself!

13/01/2026: Exquisite food, service and experience all the way. It was an excellent tasting course that impressed with execution, quality and presentation. Such a gem !

06/01/2026: Dinner for two on a Monday evening, the place was almost full. Reservations are recommended weeks in advance, especially for lunch. The atmosphere is small, but very warm and welcoming. Service is prompt and informal. Various menus are available, ranging from €25 to €49; the full menu is for true gourmets. The food overall is good to very good, with more than generous portions, with special mention for the polenta and roast beef.

03/01/2026: We have been to the ranch several times...and we have always had a good time...but not this time....There were 13 of us for lunch....each one chose their favorite type of menu....but they brought dishes that were not enough based on the menus....in addition, a plate of gnocchi with wild boar ragù cost 20 euros....that's not a small amount....This time we didn't have a good time.

05/02/2026: A small, family-run 2-star hotel. Traveling for work, it's a regular stop whenever I pass through. The highlight is the food; the food is truly divine, and the pizza is in the top five. The view is breathtaking; in the evening, wild deer come right up to the hotel; it's amazing. The price is really good. The only flaw is that the rooms are a bit summery, but I can see that the owner is gradually fixing everything; every time I visit, I see new things, like the flooring, the locks, the bathrooms. It gets full marks.

The atmosphere created by the family who run this restaurant and guesthouse is unlike anything else - the closest comparison would be a warm, welcoming, genuinely loving home. The location itself is absolutely magical, but it’s the way guests are looked after that turns a beautiful spot into a truly exceptional experience. The view alone would easily justify paying two or even three times more for both the meal and the stay - and then come the little surprises, like wild boar wandering just below the window. And of course, the food: the owner’s wife cooks with such skill and heart that every dish feels like a highlight in its own right. The service is wonderful, thoughtful, and sincerely caring. Just one piece of essential advice: if you’re arriving by car, follow the owner’s directions exactly. Do not rely on Google Maps - trust him, and you’ll get there safely and without stress. A magical stay. Highly recommended.

29/11/2025: A very welcoming place surrounded by nature, with incredible lake views, very attentive and super friendly staff, and delicious homemade food.

22/10/2025: We went to the Mandarin on Lake Como for an aperitivo, and the location is truly spectacular. It's a little hard to find, but the staff at the entrance were very kind and seated us even without a reservation. They took us down to the bar on a golf cart, so we didn't have to walk all the way down, which was really convenient. The view of the lake is breathtaking, the location is elegant, and the service impeccable. We had two glasses of Franciacorta, a focaccia, and some complimentary appetizers. We ended up paying around €25 each: a price in line with the exclusive setting, but absolutely worth it for the view, the atmosphere, and the overall experience.

14/02/2026: 2026 - Unfortunately, I have to amend my review from two years ago because today's experience was negative. Prices have skyrocketed and are unbalanced, dishes lack that extra something, a nearly hour-long drive that's definitely not worth the meal, and the golden price paid for mediocre, under-processed ingredients. I don't know if I'll give it another chance, and I'm sorry to say so, both because I've always given this restaurant excellent publicity and because I've been waiting a long time to return. On a positive note, the service has improved over time; it's courteous, attentive, and kind. 2024 - This restaurant offers an excellent selection for celiacs, with first courses featuring truly delicious homemade pasta, good value for money. Seasonal, well-designed menus. The atmosphere is a bit dated, and the service is sometimes a bit too pompous for the setting, but the quality of the dishes makes everything else seem secondary. The first courses are spectacular, even the gluten-free ones.

26/01/2026: A truly positive experience. We ate very well, from appetizer to dessert, but the highlight was the ossobuco with mushrooms and saffron risotto, truly special. The waitress was very kind and courteous. We'll be back soon to try other dishes... and my heartfelt compliments to the chef. I recommend it to anyone who loves authentic Brianza cuisine.

12/10/2025: This is a great restaurant with an incredible location right next to the lake. The food is excellent and the lemon ravioli has deservedly been on the menu for 25 years. We had eaten here 15 years ago and were charmed by the friendly staff and great location; this visit was equally wonderful.

07/10/2025: We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. We went the day before to put a reservation in (you cannot walk in - you must have a reservation). Being right on the water is a great way to spend dinner. It was peaceful and a beautiful setting. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every bite. Definitely recommend getting to the restaurant if you are in Sala Comacina.

09/02/2026: Amazing service, wonderful room, everything spotlessly clean, unique view..you could hear the waves crashing below the balcony..so impeccable, not even 5 stars..really impressive..we spent almost two days there as it was a stopover we made before Venice..we liked Mauricio a lot, so friendly..Unique experience..prefer it and you won't miss it..also excellent food in the restaurant..August 2025..

03/12/2025: Excellent restaurant in a quiet location with a spectacular lake view. The food is excellent. Mainly lake fish, but also pizza and a daily menu. Friendly and professional service. Definitely worth a try.

27/10/2025: Pleasant restaurant with excellent pizzas and pastas, with a special mention for the carbonara. The prices are affordable, and the €3 supplement per person is justified by the beautiful view of Lake Como. The frequent traffic, due to the proximity of the road, can be a bit annoying, but the service remains professional and fast.

23/11/2025: In winter, the crotto can only be reached on foot, a 40-minute walk. The atmosphere is refined, the food is excellent, and the staff is exceptional. 100% recommended.

19/10/2025: After a nice hike of about an hour, we arrived at the Montepiatto crotto and stuffed ourselves well... an appetizer to nibble on, then we tried the pizzoccheri, polenta uncia (excellent), stew, leek and wild boar crepes (very good), baked potatoes, and a trio of desserts (ricotta and blueberry and rosemary panna cotta tart and chocolate and chestnut mousse—three delights...but the tart is truly amazing). The meal ended with a nice Génépi digestif. We were inside... a lovely, warm atmosphere considering the gloomy day... but since there were also customers at the outside tables, unfortunately, the door was opened too frequently. And this annoyed the customers near it (we just agreed). Other than that, nothing much to complain about... at most, when you book and it starts to get cold, ask for a table near the stove 😉 The guys are super helpful and always smiling. A note about the trail to get there from Torno: we accidentally took a mule track that was blocked in one spot. It wasn't exactly easy, though, and not for everyone...let's say medium-level, because it's constantly uphill. The descent feels the same. I recommend anyone who wants to eat at the crotto to wear suitable shoes and, given the length of the climb, be at least somewhat fit for walking...and then enjoy a hearty lunch!

07/12/2025: Good morning, I'm replying to the person who wrote this review. I say you need to learn how to eat. If you've only eaten junk food, it's normal for good food to be unto your liking. I was near their table, but that wasn't the case because the plates were all returned empty. I ate very well, the service was excellent, and the owner was very kind.

05/02/2026: A positive experience. Last night I tried the tartare, and on a previous occasion, I had the opportunity to try the burgers: both times, I found the quality to be good, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is also well-kept and welcoming, and the service is attentive and friendly.
