The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, the kind that makes you linger longer than expected, with water, boats, and mountains as a backdrop. The food lives up to the setting: well-crafted dishes, quality ingredients, and authentic flavors, without unnecessary fuss. The service is attentive and friendly, never intrusive. A place that isn't just a restaurant, but an experience. One you'll gladly return to and recommend without a second thought.

12/05/2026: My first meal in Italy and was blown away by how delicious everything was. Prices are very reasonable. We had the octopus, mussels in pepper sauce, the 4 cheese pizza, tiramisu hugo spritz and aperol spritz. Everything was so yummy but the octopus were on another level!! The staff was also super friendly. Would recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

15/05/2026: A terrific night trying local wines with friendly staff who were very knowledgeable. By the 3rd wine pairing the staff were bringing out options based on our preferences and feedback from the first 2 drinks. Simple food fare (26Ë for a meat/cheese board - more to spend on the wine!!) but if you are a wine lover this is a must-see. Drinks very reasonable and bringing back a couple of local bottles each! And def make a reservation given how popular it is. Cannot recommend enough if you are in Bellagio.

We travel around the world, however waiting for a table for 90 plus minutes after being told it would be 20-30 minutes just is not acceptable ANYWHERE in the world... I have no idea how the food was as we took our bottle "to go" after waiting 90 minutes...

08/06/2026: Villa d’Este remains one of the great hotels of Europe, and the level of service is as polished and professional as ever. The gardens are immaculate, the setting on Lake Como is timeless, and the staff continue to deliver the kind of hospitality that made the property legendary. What has changed, at least from my perspective, is the atmosphere. I cannot help feeling that the experience is slowly drifting away from quiet, understated luxury and moving a little closer to a stage performance. There is more spectacle, more social media energy, and at times it feels as though some guests are visiting to be seen rather than simply to enjoy one of the world’s great hotels. Nothing about the quality has diminished. If anything, Villa d’Este still executes at an extraordinarily high level. I simply miss the slightly more discreet and effortless elegance that once defined the place for me. Perhaps this is the natural evolution of luxury hospitality in the age of Instagram. But for those who appreciate slow luxury, privacy, and the feeling that true refinement never needs to announce itself, there may be a quiet sense of nostalgia.

21/05/2026: A huge thank you to Federica for her warm welcome, attentiveness, and kindness throughout the meal. The dishes were incredibly delicious and prepared with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this bistro to anyone in the neighborhood!

07/06/2026: Our stay was good in overall. We booked the Romantic Junior Suite, but when we arrived it was already taken by a mistake. Thankfully they were able to switch us to similar kind of room and they handled the issue really well. Before booking you should notice that this is a farm; you will see and hear plenty of different farm animals during mornings and evenings. For us it was only a positive thing, but if you have trouble sleeping in general then you should pack your ear plugs with you.

14/06/2026: We stayed in Lomazzo as a stopover on our trip to Corsica and ate at Il Fiordo. Lovely hostesses and a delicious meal at a table outside. There were a lot of Italians there and the outdoor area was full. The food was delicious. We had Pizza Monte Napoléon and Pizza Parmesan. And the tiramisu was delectable. We really enjoyed ourselves for a very reasonable price.

01/07/2026: Good selection of craft beers, both on tap and in the fridge. Both Italian and locally sourced, all made in-house (beers, kefir, and digestifs...must try!)... The food...well, the cafoncini are unique here, you're sure to find a flavor you like!! The place is beautiful: refined in its writing, memorabilia, and board games.

11/06/2026: Fried pizza is good. Lasagna and tiramisu is mid. The waiter wasn’t very welcoming. We kindly asked for a recommendation and he simply replied ‘Just look at the menu’ and didn’t seem very happy that we’ve asked for the recommendation. We also waited to order over half an hour, whereas other tables that came after us got to order first. So I didn’t have the best experience there.

17/03/2026: THE PERCH RISOTTO WAS BEYOND DELICIOUS - I can’t stop thinking about it even 3 months later Staff was so amazing - we kept coming back just to see them.

04/01/2026: The food was really good and we really liked that they provided our children with colored pencils and paper to keep them busy without disturbing us.
