Ristorante e B&B Il Falchetto In Brunate

The breathtaking view makes up for the difficulty of walking there from Brunate. The food is excellent, and the management is friendly.

July 2025 We were staying at an Airbnb in the area of Brunate, and one of our organizers decided the first night of dinner would be at the Ristorante Falchetto. Thus, they made reservations for the 7 of us for 6 o'clock. I've added a couple scenic pictures or videos that you can see from the restaurant outside seating area. The view is really captivating and just beautiful, not only at dusk, but also at night when all the lights come on across the lake. Just a comment up front that we visited the restaurant to dine the evening of Thursday, 07/17/2025, and we had such an enjoyable evening that we decided to rebook another evening to dine on Sunday, 7/20. On our 7/17/2025 dining experience, there were some special occasions going on, where two (2) separate parties showed up for small engagement celebrations. Obviously, congratulations were offered. On both dining occasions, we had a young lady, our server, Anastasia, take care of our table. She did a fantastic job in handling our group of 7 people and making our dining experience very, very extraordinary. She recommended dishes, wines, and kept our table service very good. I would recommend that if you're going to dine at the restaurant, that you make a reservation. This is because the outside seating is somewhat limited, and so is the inside seating. Both areas are comfortable, but just remember, you'll be competing with any hotel guests that may be staying on the property to dine. When we arrived for our outside reservation, Anastasia greeted us and showed us to our table. She took our drink orders and made some suggestions on wines and/or other beverages. When she returned with our beverages shortly thereafter, she then took our dinner orders. As you would guess, with us being first time visitors, we had several questions, which she answered. I will note that she is fluent in Italian and English, and I'm sure a few other languages too. The first visit on 7/17, I ordered a Turkey filet. I was not sure the size of the filet that was going to be presented, but it was it was enough of a meal to fill me up and tasty. I didn't get any sides other than just enjoying an nice glass of red wine. Others in our group ordered small meat filet, T-Bone, or fish. No one had any complaints about the food or the taste. I'm guessing we went through 4 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne on this evening. Our second visit, on 07/20/2025, we had Anastasia as our server again and we started outside. We moved inside after rain moved into the area. I will note that it was 50-50 chance whether it was going to rain on us or not. Luckily, Anastasia and the staff moved quickly to move us inside, where we stayed the remainder of the evening. Note, we were in the dining room closest to the kitchen. It is pictured in one of the photos attached. On the second visit to drink I ordered a beer and was brought out a Moretti full liter beer, which was a little bit larger bottle than I expected, but nevertheless the less it tasted good. My partner and I decided to split the T-Bone that we saw the other night, order by another guest in our party. So, that's what we ordered. What's interesting about the way it's prepared is that the meat is brought out rare, on a hot marble plate. So, you don't touch the plate, obviously because it will easily burn you. But, the longer you leave the meat on the plate, more the meat cooks to your liking. You can obviously move the meat around using a fork to cook it the way you like. The meal was accompanied with a salad, and we ordered Tiramisu for our dessert. It was really a really a good meal. Summary, Anastasia did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food was real good, especially the T-Bone, and the view of the Lake is very nice. I hope that if you decide to visit the restaurant that your experience is as good or better than mine. Again, I do not have any actual experience with the hotel located at this place, so I cannot offer any comments on it. Note, 5/2026, made a couple of spelling corrections.

It's unbeatable to eat so well here with this backdrop. The location may seem like a relic of a bygone era, but that's part of its charm. Anyone who dares to drive up the slopes of Como with a camper van has definitely earned their driver's license twice. You should definitely follow the instructions you received when booking your hotel.

Amazing one of a kind dining experience with a beautiful view of Como. Amazing family run restaurant. The food was all fresh and delicious and dining al fresco with a panoramic view is memorable.

Very cozy family run restaurant. It's a bit of a walk, but they drove us back to the mountain railway for free! Good food, really good prices, lots of homemade products that they serve!

Breathtaking lake views and a warm welcome. Despite the availability of parking, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful day for a walk with the dogs. It was a bit of a climb on the way back, but it was absolutely enjoyable. I'm grateful for the hospitality and the possibility of having a table that was also comfortable for the dogs (since I'm a Mastiff). As a vegetarian, I had no problem choosing from the menu, despite its concise nature. The location was pleasant, and the lunch was delicious, with a simple and authentic atmosphere. I'll gladly return!
