21/09/2025: Terme del Colesterolo is one of those restaurants that makes you smile as soon as you walk in. The food is outstanding. The sandwiches come on fresh bread that is crunchy on the outside and soft inside, filled with generous portions of meat, cheese and sauce that taste homemade and full of flavor. Every bite feels rich and satisfying. The atmosphere is unforgettable. Bottles line the walls, hats and scarves hang above you, and there is this eclectic and playful feeling that makes the place feel alive. It is the kind of restaurant that feels completely Italian and completely unique. The staff are welcoming and kind and the service is relaxed but attentive. I even made a video while I was here and had to laugh at myself because I could not pronounce the name of the town. I am English and my Italian is very bad, but everyone here made me feel at home anyway. This is the kind of place you remember and look forward to coming back to.

10/10/2025: Excellent service, quick service. The cappelletti in broth were delicious and plentiful. Tagliatelle with ham sauce was good but not plentiful. The guanciale was superb and plentiful. The tiramisu was excellent. The bill was reasonable for the quality of the food.

19/10/2025: Recommended by locals, we dined at this restaurant. The variety of dishes is remarkable. We ordered tortelli, pumpkin, and salami with onion, and passatelli in broth. For our main course, we had an excellent pork fillet with nocino liqueur, sublimely prepared, and polenta with pancetta and Zola cheese. Excellent service, and the restaurant is a beautifully kept, old-fashioned affair.

19/10/2025: The food is very good, the service is quick and the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful, but it's a bit noisy (but that's not anyone's fault). Great experience.

14/10/2025: A lovely osteria/trattoria near Viano, where mushrooms are definitely the star. A wide variety of crostoni and gnocchi alla boscaiola. The mushroom cappelletti were delicious, but the truffle tasted really dull... The fried mushrooms were truly exquisite, and the desserts deserve a shout-out (the custard was mind-blowing). The only complaint was the service, which wasn't bad but could have been a little more attentive.

20/10/2025: An evening with friends, the staff were kind and helpful, the place was clean and charming. We chose menu no. 2. The meat was delicious and of excellent quality. The side dishes were almost nonexistent, except for the very good baked potatoes. The desserts deserve a special mention. Even though the place was almost full, they served us very quickly. We'll definitely be back! 🙂

The well-kept, clean, and welcoming atmosphere, combined with the good food and the friendly, attentive service of the ladies who run it, made our lunch a truly enjoyable one. We loved it!!! Bravo!!

25/09/2025: We went out to dinner with some colleagues at this restaurant called "Circolo della Caccia," which is up in the hills of the Reggio Emilia province. It’s basically perched right on top of the hills, and the first thing I noticed when we arrived was just how stunning the landscape is. You get this incredible view stretching out over all the rolling hills as far as the eye can see. It’s absolutely beautiful. The restaurant itself is quite isolated—there’s really nothing else around, which gives it this wonderfully peaceful, rustic feel. There’s a lovely rustic terrace where you can just soak in the view over the hills. When we stepped inside, the atmosphere was also really simple and rustic. We went up to the first floor to eat, and at first it was empty, but as the evening went on, it filled up completely and got pretty full. As for the food, we ate pretty well overall. I remember the tortelloni, some horse tartare meatballs that were quite good, and also had carpaccio. Everything was generally tasty, nothing mind-blowing, but definitely good. The one thing I didn’t love was the Lambrusco gelato, which really wasn’t to my taste, and the others with me didn’t enjoy it much either. But aside from that, everything else was pretty decent. Service-wise, it was okay, nothing special, nothing terrible. At first, the staff seemed a bit rustic themselves, but given the place, that kind of fits the vibe. They were friendly and polite enough, so no complaints there. Overall, I liked it. The landscape alone is a reason I’d definitely go back, maybe on a summer evening when it’s cooler up there—definitely bring a sweater in the summer because it stays nice and fresh. And I can imagine in winter it gets pretty chilly. So I’m looking forward to another summer visit with friends or family!

And it’s truly Italian cuisine with super proper prices. *** Plus the places is dog friendly Highly recommended!!!!
